This attractive fellow is Tucker, a Rottweiler mix arriving on 6/23 at the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray. Tucker weighs 64 pounds, is about 3 years old and is neutered. He is a delightful boy who is well-mannered, calm and gentle. He has a low-key personality. He appears to have been well cared for with a sleek coat and bright eyes. He knows the sit and paw commands. Tucker walks very nicely on a leash. He is friendly and is OK with being loved on and petted. He showed no interest in toys or balls. He was happy to receive treats and sat for them, taking them politely. He spent a fair amount of time scouting out all the sights and smells in the room and which his eval was done. There is so much like about this boy and he would make a wonderful family pet.

You can tell from Remy's eyes and body language that he is not comfortable at the shelter. Remy is an eight month old 60 pound Rottweiler mix that was brought to the shelter by one of our officers on 7/1. He came in with Rudy, a chocolate lab approximately the same age. They show affection to one another so I think they probably came from the same household. Remy is somewhat dependent on Rudy. Remy is very passive but kept gently nudging me with his nose seeking affection. He is docile, calm, easy-going, very well, mannered, affectionate and needing TLC. He stays close and comes when called. He put his head on your lap. He stood patiently while I put the scarf around his neck. He doesn't seem to know the sit command, nor was he interested in my treats. He walks well on a leash. He went nose to nose wagging his tail as he went by other dogs. This gentle soul would need a very relaxed, calm environment to blossom. He would do best with older children. He would need an understanding family that would work with him to build trust. He's so sweet and affectionate, he would do so well cuddled up on the couch with his new family. He wants to be an inside dog.

Hi! I'm Rex! I am a approximately 1 year old, male, Rottweiler mix that weighs approx. 75 lbs. I was found off Guadalupe Drive/Cooperwood in Rockwall late evening 6/10/24 and never reclaimed. I am excited to find my furr ever family! I am sweet and love people. I walk great on a leash and am pretty close to being kennel trained. I am super friendly and love to smile! I know some basic commands but am still learning. I am strong on a leash so I will need to be taught not to pull. I do not do well with cats or small dogs. I do need a friend who is medium to larger in size. If you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure we get along. My adoption fee is $125. I am neutered, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccination, basic boosters, and heartworm negative! Ernest is a rott/shih tzu mix. He is a year and 3 months old. He is friendly and just loves to be around people and will lick you to death. I want him to go to a home that is preferably a family, has a yard, and will provide the time for him that I do not have. I travel for work and it has become hard to manage. I’m super sad to have to rehome him but it is the best for him.
