Cookie is 1-2 year old Rottweiler/Lab mix that weighs 68 pounds. She was surrendered on 6/18 along with three other dogs due to the health of the owner. Her surrender form stated that she was an indoor dog and is housebroken. It also states that she gets along with children, dogs and cats. She’s very attractive with a glossy coat and a curly tail. It looks like she’s been well taken care of. She would explore the yard and then come back and either sit by me or stand and look over the wall. There was another dog walking outside the gate, and she became very excited. It was obvious she wanted to make friends. She’s very sociable, friendly, spunky, sweet and affectionate. She occasionally jumps on you but just occasionally. She walks okay on a leash. She did her business when she got out into the yard. She would love to get out and play outside or go for walks and then come in to spend family time with her new family.

Meet Lobo! He is a 2yr old neutered male Rottweiler mix that weighs 75lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 6/27 as a stray. He is a very handsome boy that has already captured the heart of our staff. He is a happy go lucky boy that enjoys being petted and loved on. He does walk very strongly on a leash so will need additional training. He does not seem to know any commands, but he does take treats gently. Walking past other dogs barking at him, and ones in an adjacent play yard, he just looked but did not show any adverse behavior. Please ask the shelter for a dog test if there is another dog in the home. Lobo found a few stuffed toys and he had fun playing with them. He would love to find his own loving family that is familiar with the Rottie breed. Providing him a secured yard to play in, yet be an indoor pup where he can stay cool and close to his human companions. If you can offer him this loving home, please come spend time with him!

Meet Rocky! He is a very handsome boy, a neutered male, mixed breed of Beauceron, Manchester Terrier & Doberman Pincher that weighs 61lbs. He was an owner surrender on 6/9 as his family could not give him the proper care. They had had him since he was 2 months old. He is unsure why he has been left at the shelter, yet we will continue to help him find his next loving home. He has lived indoors with older children, is housetrained, and appears to be well cared for. Rocky can walk fairly strongly on a leash, so additional training would help. He is ok with petting and will lean into you at times to find comfort. Tho he doesn`t appear to know any commands, he does take treats nicely. He does love toys, especially balls. He hopes in his next home he has a secured yard to play in, then come back inside where it is comfy dog bed to take naps on, and plenty of toys to choose from. If you can offer Rocky the loving home he deserves, come spend some time with him.

Meet Eragon! He is a 6 year old male Rottweiler/ Cattle dog that weighs approx. 65lbs. He was found on 07/25/26 by Old Millwood in Rockwall County and sadly, never reclaimed. He is now looking for his FURever home! He is a friendly guy that would benefit from an active family that enjoys having a dog that will play and have fun on every adventure. Meet Wally! Wally is an approximately 1 year old Rottweiler and Pit Bull mix weighing 75 pounds who has been waiting for a forever home for over 90 days (as of 07/22/26). As one of our Diamond Dogs, his adoption fee has been reduced to just $75 to help him find the family he deserves. Wally was found off Wagonwheel Drive in Rockwall on 04/23/26 and, sadly, was never reclaimed. He is a friendly, outgoing boy who loves spending time with people and approaches every day with enthusiasm. Wally is strong, energetic, and would thrive with an owner who can provide structure, consistency, and continued training. He walks on a leash but can become excited and pull, so he will benefit from continued work on his leash manners.
