Honey Bear is surprisingly gentle for her size. She's a handsome girl with a glossy coat and nice markings. She's a little on the thin side and could use some groceries. She's a two-year-old 56 pound Rottweiler mix that was brought into the Mesquite Animal Shelter by one of our officers. I understand she'd been wandering around the neighborhood for some time. Now she is in a safe environment where she will be fed regularly and won't get hit by a car. BUT she would prefer to be in a loving home. She's had at least one litter. She's an easy-going, laid-back girl that is looking for love. When I walked around the yard, she walked along beside me. She wants to be close to her human friend. She sits for treats, but doesn't stay in the sitting position for very long. She is calm, sweet, loving, friendly, and well-behaved. She walks well on a leash. She was non-reactive when meeting other dogs. She sometimes cowers when you reach for her head. She seems to be sensitive around her neck. So please be gentle. When I sat down, she came and put her head on my lap. She doesn't have the temperament to be an outside dog so please get a big bed for her in your living area so she can chill out with her new family.

Hi! I'm Rex! I am a approximately 1 year old, male, Rottweiler mix that weighs approx. 75 lbs. I was found off Guadalupe Drive/Cooperwood in Rockwall late evening 6/10/24 and never reclaimed. I am excited to find my furr ever family! I am sweet and love people. I walk great on a leash and am pretty close to being kennel trained. I am super friendly and love to smile! I know some basic commands but am still learning. I am strong on a leash so I will need to be taught not to pull. I do not do well with cats or small dogs. I do need a friend who is medium to larger in size. If you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure we get along. My adoption fee is $125. I am neutered, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccination, basic boosters, and heartworm negative!
