Story
Nova was born on 01/10/2026 from an accidental litter. Her family reached out to Legacy Humane Society for assistance in finding her and her sister new homes. Their Mom has been spayed, and the pups are also spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and on heartworm prevention. Their adoption fee is $325. Nova knows how to sit and shake on command. She loves belly rubs, playing fetch and eating watermelon.  Puppies require someone with lots of time and patience to raise them to be the best dogs they can be. They will do well with dogs, cats and kids. Since puppies don't have all of their manners yet, they may be too much for toddlers and very young children. If you're interested in meeting them, please apply online and we'll be in touch: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Meet Maria! Maria is a beautiful 4-year-old Rottweiler with a remarkable story of resilience, strength, and second chances. Weighing approximately 80 pounds, Maria's journey hasn't always been easy. In March, she was found as a stray with serious injuries, likely after being struck by a vehicle. She was taken to a city shelter where she received surgery to repair a broken femur. Through it all, Maria remained calm, gentle, and incredibly brave. Today, she has fully recovered and is enjoying life in foster care while she patiently waits for the forever family she deserves. Maria is a well-mannered girl who is both house and crate trained. She sleeps quietly in her crate at night, walks beautifully on a leash, and takes treats with the gentlest touch. She is not a frequent barker but will alert you when someone arrives at the house. While Maria is affectionate and loving once she feels safe, she is naturally cautious and slow to warm up to new people. She will thrive with a patient family willing to give her time and space to build trust at her own pace. Once that bond is formed, Maria's loyal and devoted personality truly shines. Maria would do best in a calm home with children 16 years of age or older who can respect her boundaries and understand her need for gradual introductions. She can be happy as an only dog, but she would also enjoy a canine companion her size or larger. Maria has a bit of an alpha personality, so proper introductions and confident leadership are important. Because of her size and play style, she is not a good fit for homes with small dogs. A family that works from home or spends a lot of time around the house would be ideal, as Maria enjoys companionship and being included in daily life. She does have one amusing quirk—she's a bit of a counter surfer—so keeping snacks out of reach is highly recommended! Maria also cannot be left alone unsupervised. She must be crated. Maria is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and heartworm negative. Despite the challenges she has faced, she continues to show an incredible capacity for love and trust. If you're looking for a loyal companion and are willing to give a deserving dog the time she needs to settle in, Maria may be the perfect addition to your family. If you are interested in meeting Maria, please complete an adoption application through Legacy Humane Society. All of our dogs live in foster homes while they wait for their forever families, allowing us to learn more about their personalities and help find the best possible match. Maria has overcome so much and is ready for a family that will love her forever. Could that family be yours? Please apply online if you're interested in meeting her. Her adoption fee is $275. Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Story
**THIS IS A COURTESY POST WITH THE RICHARDSON HUMANE SOCIETY** My name is Cleo.  I'm looking for my forever home, the one that was always meant for me. If you're searching for a dog who's equal parts cuddle bug and loyal best friend, I just might be your girl. My favorite thing in the world is being close to my people. I'll happily curl up beside you for movie nights , follow you around the house, and soak up every bit of love you're willing to give. I'm also a pretty quiet gal and rarely bark. I absolutely adore people and would do wonderfully with kids. My dream home has a grassy backyard where I can stretch my legs, sniff all the interesting smells, and then head back inside for my favorite activity: snuggling with my humans. I also have a funny little hobby. I take my job as household fly catcher very seriously. If a fly sneaks into the house, consider it officially on my watch. My ideal home is one where I can be your one and only dog. Other pups just aren't my thing, but people absolutely are, and I have more than enough love to fill an entire home. I've already spent a long time waiting for my forever family, and I know they're out there somewhere. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate companion who will happily share your couch , greet you with unconditional love , patrol the house for rogue flies , and become your faithful little shadow , I hope you'll come meet me. Maybe my happily ever after starts with you. ***Cleo lives in Richardson, TX.  When you fill out an application, we'll reach out to see if she's a good fit, if she is, introductions will be arranged. *** We do not know Cleo's breed mix, what was selected is our best guess based on her very good looks.   ##2779645##

Story
This beautiful girl came into our lives after being brought here and left behind. We have loved having her, but she is growing bigger and we are sadly no longer able to keep her. She is such a sweet soul with so much love to give. 🥹 She has lots of energy, loves to play, and her favorite thing is being close to her people. Because she was a rescue, she can be a little shy and timid at first — but once she trusts you, she is a loving, loyal companion. She doesn’t need a perfect home… she just needs someone who will be patient, show her love, and give her the safe place she deserves. ❤️ Please help us find the family she’s been waiting for. If you or someone you know may be interested, please message me. Even sharing this post could help her find her forever home. 🐶💕

Story
Carter checking in. Just a reminder that I'm still here waiting for my perfect family. I love big, play hard with my foster siblings, run fast and now jump high. I'm super smart - learned how to go inside and outside through a magic door this week, and love soft beds to sleep in. I'm having so much fun at Camp 5 Oaks and have learned so much but am ready to meet my new family! Meet Carter, an adorable 15-week-old puppy weighing 20 pounds with a beautiful brindle coat. He will grow into a medium-sized dog. He’s smart, eager to please, and has a fun yet calm personality. He’s been working on all the commands and is sure to charm you with his talents. A sweet little male with a story to tell. He is such a good boy. Certified cuddle expert. Professional tail wagger. He believes every human is his best friend and every snack should legally be shared with him. A mama dog was pulled off the streets and safely delivered 9 puppies in foster care. They’ve been loved and cared for since birth… but then the original foster’s landlord found out, and the puppies had to be moved immediately. Dallas Dog brought them into the fold and they have been separated into smaller groups for fostering. They are: 🐾 Medium‑breed pups 🐾 Social, playful, and used to being together 🐾 At a critical age where consistency matters If you’ve been thinking about adopting, now is the moment to step in for one of these babies. www.dallasdog.org

Story
What can I say about Laramie? She sweet, smart and sassy! She loves to cuddle and play! She even does great with her foster sister chiweenie! She is scared of the cat but not aggressive at all! She loves all people and other dogs and really just wants to be everybody’s best friend! Laramie is a beautiful little girl. She’s very sweet and friendly. She wants to say hi to everyone and give them kisses. She gets along great with other dogs and has spent time with children and was good with them too. She’s got puppy energy and loves to play and chew. She follows her foster dog sister around and they play, although she’s going to need a bigger playmate. She loves to run and would do great with a yard! Here is her story. A mama dog was pulled off the streets and safely delivered 9 puppies in foster care. They’ve been loved and cared for since birth… but then the original foster’s landlord found out, and the puppies had to be moved immediately. Story
Hi, I’m Kayce, the 25.5 lb lap dog you’ve been searching for! My foster parents say I’m only 14 weeks old, but look at these legs! I am built for long walks, backyard zoomies, and absolute elite-level couch snuggling. 🌟 Boxer mix on paper, brindle Black Mouth Cur in looks, and 100% good boy in personality. 🐕 Great with dogs: Play with a GSD, Pocket Bully, and Terrier. 🐈 Cat friendly: Safely living with 2 foster cats. 🎓 Smart boy: Already knows 'sit' and 'down'. 💤 Crate trained: Doing amazing and age-appropriate. 🚽 Potty training: Working hard on potty training and going outside. I’m a smart, handsome pup with a huge heart, and I'm ready to find my forever family. ❤️ Hi everyone, it’s me, Kayce — your friendly neighborhood chaos nugget, wrestling champion, and professional zoom‑ologist. This week has been AWESOME: I got to run around outside and I have decided that the backyard is my personal amusement park. There are smells to sniff, sticks to chomp, and dogs to wrestle (lovingly of course). I take my job as Fun Supervisor very seriously. I also met a hose. I do NOT vibe with the hose. It wiggles. It sprays. It’s unpredictable. I barked at it once to let it know I’m watching, then retreated to a safe distance because I value my life. I’m getting braver, smarter, and sillier every day. I love exploring, wrestling, and doing independent puppy missions… but I also love cuddles. Especially the kind where I smush my face into foster mom's until she kisses my head. So anyway… I think I’m pretty awesome. And I think you might think I’m awesome too. Please adopt me so I can bring my zoomies, snuggles, and questionable decision‑making skills to your home. Love, Kayce 🐶 A mama dog was pulled off the streets and safely delivered 9 puppies in foster care.
