Story
Meet Arthur! A spirited two-and-a-half-year-old Rottsky (Rottweiler/Siberian Husky mix) from Terrell, TX, whose zest for life is as vibrant as his striking black-and-tan coat. Weighing in at 85 pounds of pure energy and personality, Arthur is a playful adventurer who thrives on long walks filled with exciting sniffs and the satisfying crunch of his favorite chew toys. This handsome guy has mastered the art of “sit,” “stay,” “down,” and “here,” showcasing his eagerness to learn and love for positive reinforcement training. Arthur is the ultimate companion for a human-centered home. He adores people and has a friendly, outgoing personality that makes him the life of any room he enters! He’s always ready to soak up all the attention (and snacks!) you’re willing to share, making training sessions both effective and enjoyable. Whether you’re unwinding after a day’s work or tackling an adventurous weekend hike, Arthur will be right by your side, keeping up with his endless energy and enthusiasm. However, Arthur’s ideal home would be one where he’s the sole pet and where children aren’t part of the household mix. He’s not a fan of other animals, and his high prey drive makes co-existing with cats or dogs stressful. Arthur’s perfect family would be an active person or couple who can offer him the physical activity and mental stimulation he needs. While he’s high-energy outdoors, Arthur is excellent when left alone for short periods and is already crate-trained and house-trained. With consistent routines, twice-daily feedings, and plenty of exercise, this affectionate, food-motivated boy will shine as your loyal, four-legged best friend! Are you ready to make room in your life for Arthur’s big heart, goofy antics, and unwavering companionship? Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com and get ready for endless adventures with this lovable Rottsky by your side!

Story
This dog was dropped off starving and barely able to walk. He is now healthy and active. He is also very gentle and affectionate. The only reason that we can't keep him is because he keeps eating our chickens when they escape. He's eaten more than a dozen now.

Story
Meet Kenna! A spirited almost six-year-old Boxer/Weimaraner mix currently living in Austin, TX, whose essence is a joyful whirlwind of energy wrapped in a stunning white coat with brown brindle patches. Kenna is an explorer at heart—part adventurer, part cuddle bug, and all heart! With 54 pounds of enthusiasm and affection, this girl is most in her element when she’s tearing through a fenced yard, playing tug-of-war, or solving a tricky treat puzzle. She's mastered a whole toolkit of commands—sit, shake, lay down, up, spin, high five, and wait/okay—which she proudly demonstrates in exchange for attention or a dental chew (her absolute favorite treat in the world!). A born runner and a big fan of playtime, Kenna thrives on activity and routine. She’d flourish in a home where her new family enjoys outdoor adventures and can keep up with her zest for life. She adores people and will happily shadow her caregiver around the house, offering soulful gazes and enthusiastic tail wags! She’s deeply affectionate and forms strong bonds with her people, which makes her prone to separation anxiety when left alone suddenly—especially in confined spaces. Leaving her with a favorite toy or a stuffed treat helps her stay calm while you're away. She also has a fear of running water, likely due to past trauma, and will do best with outdoor bucket baths rather than showers or tubs. Her guardian has worked hard to ease this fear with patience and understanding, and Kenna continues to thrive in the right environment. True to her Boxer roots, Kenna has a strong protective streak and a watchful eye. She’s been known to get excited (and vocal) when she spots what she believes to be intruders—whether that’s a squirrel, a biker, or a wayward jogger in the park. With a confident caregiver using positive reinforcement and a steady hand during walks or vet visits, Kenna stays grounded and well-behaved. Kenna’s ideal home includes a fenced yard, an active routine, and a pet parent who shares her love of outdoor adventures and who will respect her sensitivities while embracing her endless love. While she’s never lived with another dog, she does great at doggy daycare and may do well with a similarly sized, confident canine companion. Cats, on the other hand, are not her thing—she tends to see them more as critters to chase! Kenna is spayed, microchipped, house-trained, up-to-date on vaccines, and on a special diet to keep her feeling her best. This dazzling, doting, and deeply loyal pup is ready to fill your life with laughter, loyalty, and all the tail-wagging affection you can handle! Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more about making this loving adventurer part of your family!
