Story
Hi there! My name is Bruno, and I may have been abandoned by my previous owners, but I haven’t given up on love.  I’m around 2 years old, and even after everything I’ve been through, I’m still full of love and hope for a family to call my own. Here’s what makes me special: I warm up quickly once I know you’re kind. I’m very sweet, goofy and calm, the perfect mix of gentle energy and affection. I walk beautifully on the leash  I take treats very gently (and yes, I’ll melt your heart while doing it). Dog and cat friendly All I really want is a soft place to rest, a loving hand to pet me, and someone to remind me I’m finally home. If you give me a chance, I’ll give you my whole heart. I promise! Call the shelter at 972-744-4480 or email AskRichardsonAnimalServices@cor.gov to learn more.December 8, 2025, 8:19 pm

Story
Meet Lottie! She is very laid-back, calm and gentle. Lottie is a 3yr old 78lb Rottweiler mix that came to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 10/7 as a stray. Lottie has a shiny coat and beautiful golden eyes. She followed me around the yard. She came from the across the yard when I called her. She did spend a lot of time walking around the yard. She does have a semi-strong pull on the leash. She did do her business in the yard. She was reactive to a dog in a kennel next to hers. If you have another dog we advise you to ask the shelter for a dog test. Lottie would most likely be a very loyal companion to her family. She just wants to chill out. A yard would be beneficial. She wants to be in the house so she can share precious family time.

These pups are in Dallas, Texas too!

Story
Willy is a sweet and very smart five-month-old (DOB around May 2025) puppy who is looking for his forever home! He was found as a stray in the woods of East Texas when he was just a baby. His foster family got him in the car, and he whined and howled the whole ten minutes home; thus, he was named for William Shakespeare because this boy brings on the drama! To this day, he remains a very talkative pup. This silly boy is extremely intelligent and learns new commands and skills very quickly. He enjoys puzzles because they wear out his busy brain! Willy is very food-motivated, so training is simple as long as there are plenty of treats involved. He does need to be kept occupied so he doesn't get into trouble, much like any puppy. Willy does great with other big dogs, and he'll wrestle with and chase his canine friends all day long. He's untested with smaller dogs, but he would probably be great with any pup over twenty pounds. He does have a significant prey drive, and though his recall is pretty good, he's not fabulous around cats or other prey animals. His ideal home is an active one that will get him plenty of exercise and that will offer activities to engage his brain. He would do wonderfully with one or more canine companions, too, as long as they're also energetic and playful. Willy is housetrained, crate-trained, and knows some basic commands. He's still working to complete normal obedience training, but he has a good start! He weighs 40.2 pounds as of the middle of October, but he's still a growing boy. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Willy, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. Story
Meet Sharae Jo aka Dora the explorer. She is 9 months, weighing 28 lbs., boxer mix with a vibrant fawn coat. Sharae was rescued under a church with her five siblings and her mother at just a few weeks old. Sharae is a very energetic, loving and a very independent pup who loves to explore all of her surroundings. Sharae is very shy with other dogs, but warms up once getting to know them. She has not been around cats. She currently resides with her mom, two siblings and a Lab. Sharae loves water especially playing in her puppy pool. She is one smart pup! She loves a good car ride and loves the outdoors. An ideal home for Sharae would be one that is safe and comfortable where she will receive plenty of love, affection and training. Because she is a pup, would love to put her in an environment with a family that has children, if possible.l, but not required. Sharae is partially crate trained with no issues sleeping or playing in one. However, she does not potty inside, as she will bark to inform you when she needs to go. Sharae will need continued training on a leash and basic commands. Sharae has received the following vaccinations: Rabies, Bordetella, DHPP. She is microchipped and will be spayed on 06/17/2025. Reason for rehoming: Sharae is currently under temporary care by her rescue family who are unable to keep her permanently. This happy-go-lucky pup is deserving of the perfect furever home.
