Story
Nova is 28 lbs and six months old as of 7/10/26. She is a very loving, smart and affectionate girl who loves her stuffed toys (and everyone she meets!). We think she will be 45+ lbs full-grown.  Nova knows how to sit and shake on command. She loves belly rubs, playing fetch and eating watermelon.  Nova was born on 01/10/2026 from an accidental litter. Her family reached out to Legacy Humane Society for assistance in finding her and her sister new homes. Her Mom has been spayed, and Nova is also spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and on heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $275.  Puppies require someone with lots of time and patience to raise them to be the best dogs they can be. They will do well with dogs, cats and kids. If you're interested in meeting them, please apply online and we'll be in touch: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Meet Maria! Maria is a beautiful 4-year-old Rottweiler with a remarkable story of resilience, strength, and second chances. Weighing approximately 80 pounds, Maria's journey hasn't always been easy. In March, she was found as a stray with serious injuries, likely after being struck by a vehicle. She was taken to a city shelter where she received surgery to repair a broken femur. Through it all, Maria remained calm, gentle, and incredibly brave. Today, she has fully recovered and is enjoying life in foster care while she patiently waits for the forever family she deserves. Maria is a well-mannered girl who is both house and crate trained. She sleeps quietly in her crate at night, walks beautifully on a leash, and takes treats with the gentlest touch. She is not a frequent barker but will alert you when someone arrives at the house. While Maria is affectionate and loving once she feels safe, she is naturally cautious and slow to warm up to new people. She will thrive with a patient family willing to give her time and space to build trust at her own pace. Once that bond is formed, Maria's loyal and devoted personality truly shines. Maria would do best in a calm home with children 16 years of age or older who can respect her boundaries and understand her need for gradual introductions. She can be happy as an only dog, but she would also enjoy a canine companion her size or larger. Maria has a bit of an alpha personality, so proper introductions and confident leadership are important. Because of her size and play style, she is not a good fit for homes with small dogs. A family that works from home or spends a lot of time around the house would be ideal, as Maria enjoys companionship and being included in daily life. She does have one amusing quirk—she's a bit of a counter surfer—so keeping snacks out of reach is highly recommended! Maria also cannot be left alone unsupervised. She must be crated. Maria is spayed, current on vaccinations, and heartworm negative. Despite the challenges she has faced, she continues to show an incredible capacity for love and trust. If you're looking for a loyal companion and are willing to give a deserving dog the time she needs to settle in, Maria may be the perfect addition to your family. If you are interested in meeting Maria, please complete an adoption application through Legacy Humane Society. All of our dogs live in foster homes while they wait for their forever families, allowing us to learn more about their personalities and help find the best possible match. Maria has overcome so much and is ready for a family that will love her forever. Could that family be yours? Please apply online if you're interested in meeting her. Her adoption fee is $275. Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Story
Bruce is a 3½‑year‑old, sweet, intelligent, eager‑to‑please dog who’s been with us since he was 6 weeks old. He’s gentle, protective, a little stubborn, and loves walks, play, and training. He’s fully potty trained and previously crate trained. Bruce thrives with attention and would do best as the “baby of the house” with an owner who has time for him and ideally space or land for him to run. He’s fine with kids but prefers not to share constant attention with very young children. We’re rehoming him because our toddler now takes most of our time, and Bruce deserves more engagement and a home where he can be the center of someone’s world again. He’s loyal, loving, and ready to flourish with the right person.

Story
This beautiful girl came into our lives after being brought here and left behind. We have loved having her, but she is growing bigger and we are sadly no longer able to keep her. She is such a sweet soul with so much love to give. 🥹 She has lots of energy, loves to play, and her favorite thing is being close to her people. Because she was a rescue, she can be a little shy and timid at first — but once she trusts you, she is a loving, loyal companion. She doesn’t need a perfect home… she just needs someone who will be patient, show her love, and give her the safe place she deserves. ❤️ Please help us find the family she’s been waiting for. If you or someone you know may be interested, please message me. Even sharing this post could help her find her forever home. 🐶💕

Story
Kali is a 2.5 +/- year old Doberman Pinscher. She was a rehome due to apartment complex rules for her breed being banned. We met the pet parents at a dog park to see how she would do with our other dog and with the dog park in general. She was fantastic and played non stop with our other dog and we brought her home.Kali is a sweet and obedient dog, She has graduated from Manners 1 and 2 at What a Great Dog facililty and has participated in an 18 day board and train with a local training group. It pains us to place her for adoption.crate trainedhouse brokenknows sit, down, place, come, heel, etc.rides well in carpulls slightly on leash due to prey drive triggers is ok with cats, will chase if they run but mostly licks themKali would thrive in a home that is active and has experience with dogs and can create an environment she can feel confident and relaxed in. She takes her job as protector very seriously.

Story
Sadie's new BIO and some pics: Meet Sadie, a 1 year old, 70-pound bundle of joy who is ready to find her forever home! This gorgeous girl is the perfect mix of playful athlete and world-class snuggler. She is fully potty trained, kennel trained (she happily eats, sleeps, and waits for treats in her private suite), and is good on a leash. Sadie adores her people, wears her emotions on her sleeve, and will even "talk" to you when she has something important to share! Because she’s a big girl, she’d do best in a home with a yard (any size)to stretch her legs, older kids, or a playful friend who enjoys a good wrestling match. Sadie is an excellent watch-dog who only barks when there's a good reason, though she can be bashful around sudden, loud noises. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will guard your heart and keep you laughing, Sadie is your girl!
