Story
Hi! I'm Milk Tea!
I'm the sweet, sensitive one. I like to let my sister, Tapioca, check things out first... and then I decide it's probably safe. Once I know you're my person, I'm all in! I start purring the second I see my foster mama, I LOVE belly rubs, and I'll dramatically flop onto my back like it's my full-time job. I also have a blast chasing wand toys and zooming around the house with my sister. But my story didn't start out so happy.
My sister and I were rescued from an outdoor feral colony as older kittens with severe upper respiratory infections. Watching Tapioca fight to keep both of her eyes was scary, and then we had to go through weeks of medicated baths and quarantine because of ringworm (don't worry—it's like athlete's foot, not actual worms!). Somehow I never caught it, but I stayed by her side through everything. (and thanks to her, I also had to get bathed 2x a week)
Because of our rough start, I'm a little shy with new people. Lots of meds and baths (it's traumatic- just look at my face in the picture!) We'll need a patient, adult-only home (ideally experienced) that lets me build trust at my own pace. I promise I'm worth the wait. And as long as my brave big sister is by my side, I know I can do just about anything. We are both fixed, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, flea treated, and microchipped. Of course litter box trained too! We are a pair- so please don't apply if you just want me. I mean, I don't blame you- I am the pretty one! =D
To ensure our team can focus on their care and lifesaving work, we kindly ask that you refrain from calling or messaging for status updates. Because we receive a high volume of applications, we are only able to contact those who are selected for the next steps and will not respond to every inquiry. Thank you for understanding and patience.
MUST FOLLOW APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
1) Go to https://petlover.petstablished.com/organization/1951865 and Click "adopt" on the kitten's profile you are interested in. Clicking adopt does not mean that you are adopting this cat. It will take you to an application to fill out which is the first step of the adoption process. (NOTE: If the kitten is a bonded pair, do not apply for him/her as a single kitten. These applications will not be considered)
2) If your application is approved, you will receive a call back within 2-3 days. Due to the volume of calls/inquiries/messages, please do not call to check the status of your application. We do our best to match the cat to the best environment/family/situation as possible based on the cat's personality and temperament.
3) Priority will be given to those who are open to adopting in pairs or who have a resident kitty looking for a new friend. Kittens do best when they have a friend. Read why here: http://www.kittenlady.org/twokittens
