Story
Taz was brought to our shelter on 1/9/26 after being found in unincorporated Livermore. He hasn't been reclaimed by his previous person, so he's now looking for a new home! Taz is a fun pup with the energy to keep up with an active person who wants to include him on their adventures! He seems to be a smart and trainable dog, but right now is still working on polishing his basic manners (like not jumping when excited), so for the time being, we think he is best suited for a home without small children. His adoption fee is $35, plus licensing (if applicable). The cost of his neuter surgery is sponsored! ** Taz would do best in a home without small children or cats ** ## See video of Taz at the end of the photo gallery! ## TVAR.org/find-your-pet-adopt/dogs-puppies/ Taz’s Shelter ID# is 88672. He is an approximately 2-year-old, tricolor, Cattle Dog mix. He currently weighs around 44 lbs. He has already been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered and is ready to go to his new home! Taz is located in kennel C-5. ** Age shown is an estimate only ** THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING If you are interested, please call the East County Animal Shelter at 925-803-7040 to see if this dog is still available.

Story
Meet Kismet – A Resilient and Loving Companion Looking for Her Forever Home Kismet is a stunning 1-2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog with a heart as big as her beautiful personality. She also happens to be deaf, but that doesn’t slow her down one bit! This sweet girl found herself in a crowded Central Valley shelter, on the verge of giving birth. Perhaps being deaf was a small blessing in such a loud and overwhelming place—but it was still a frightening experience for her. Thankfully, Lucky Dog Rescue stepped in, and Kismet was whisked away to a loving foster home where she could safely raise her newborn puppies. Kismet was a wonderful, devoted mom, and now that all her puppies have found their forever homes, it’s finally her turn. Kismet is great with other dogs. She enjoys playing with the younger dogs in her foster home and is respectful of the senior dog. She’s housebroken, has mastered the dog door, and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. Like many young dogs, she can be a bit mischievous—she’s been known to chew on things she shouldn’t—but she’s learning to redirect her energy toward appropriate chew toys. On leash, Kismet walks well but can be a little cautious in new environments. She’s shy when meeting new people and needs time to warm up, but with patience and kindness, she blossoms into a loving, affectionate companion. Once she trusts you, she’ll shower you with cuddles—yes, Kismet is a snuggler! Highly food-motivated, Kismet knows “sit” and is learning additional hand-signal commands. With continued training and love, she’ll thrive in a patient and understanding home. Are you the one who will give Kismet the forever home she deserves? If you’re interested in adopting Kismet, please complete our adoption application at 1luckydogrescue.org or email Sue, dogs@s2springer.com.

Story
Cowboy was rescued from the side of the road in a suspected dumping situation. He was sweet but cautious and there was evidence he had been tied to a wire fence with a rope that he had chewed through. Cowboy was able to be picked up and carried to the car where he rode anxiously to a vet to get him checked for a microchip. With no microchip found, lab tests were done to check his health. He had no issues come up, his age is estimate 1-3 years old, he is unneutered and around 33 lbs. Cowboy then went to a ranch in Lafayette for fostering and possibly as a forever home. Unfortunately, his high prey drive toward small livestock led to the ranch being a poor fit so Cowboy is looking for a new home. He is very sweet, so far good with people, dogs and children. He has no shots yet. Cowboy would do well in a home alone or only with dogs. Due to being dumped he is still nervous and will take time to adjust, but he would make a great addition to any family.

Story
Penny-She was found left behind with her leash attached to the front gate of the local shelter. Once a shy and anxious dog, now thrives thanks to her routine of daily walks, cuddles and delicious meals. She has been an inside dog but is not crate trained. She knows a few basic commands like: sit, down, come, food, treat. She is potty trained to go outside. She could use additional training and animal socialization. She’s a strong leash puller and is triggered by most small animals. She is also selective with people. Building and maintaining a relationship with Penny will require patience and possibly behavioral therapy. She is also triggered by people on bikes/scooters. We as a foster home did not use training methods that require pronged collars, e-collars or anything that would possibly harm Penny both physically and psychologically. Penny would love a home where she can be someone’s center of attention. Pit/Cattle mix - 3.5 yrs. - 48lbs - Spayed In-foster care now
