I got her 5ish years ago from Lancaster puppies in Pennsylvania. She is a great dog and is very loving and funny. She loves to play with balloons and she loves to watch tv. She is great with any age kids or babies. She has never met a cat so if you have a cat I’m not sure how she will be but she is great with other dogs. She never bit anyone or any animal. She has a big personality. She loves to run and play. We have a 1 year old and I’m pregnant, my husband works 6 days a week almost all day and it’s very hard to make sure she gets the play time she deserves. I love her but she deserves someone who can take her on long walks and play with her and cuddle her. I want her to enjoy the rest of her long life with someone who has the energy. We also live in an apartment and it’s just a bit cramped with our family and the dog. She did nothing wrong I just want the best for her and right now I can’t give that to her. She has nicknames lol ( Lou leena, Lou Lou, klo Lena) she is a beautiful dog

Maya (known as Sydney in her foster home of 4 months) is a beautiful, smart, gentle and sweet girl. She is very loving, playful, eager to please, and house-trained. She has a very short tail and when she sees someone she loves, her whole body wiggles! She is very intelligent and quickly learned the names of her various toys and often figures out what you want her to do before you even ask. She loves to be outside in the yard with her person and her canine buddy; walks in the neighborhood she likes, but walks in the woods she loves. She wants to be your best friend and do everything you ask, but sometimes the world is a little too scary for her. She can be slow to warm up to new people and places, and likes to have a "safe space" all her own. She is cautiously happy to meet most women and some men, but she is timid with older men. She therefore is unlikely to do well in a home that includes an older man, but would likely do well in a home with a younger man. Although she has had very limited exposure, she seems fine with children. She has been fine (but shy) with the cat in her foster home. She is initially timid around most dogs, but would probably do well sharing a home with a confident, playful dog, and as you can see from the videos, once she's comfortable with another dog, she loves to run and play! Maya will need a meet and greet before proceeding with an adoption. She was rescued by HART after being surrendered to a shelter; we don't know where she lived before that. She has made steady progress coming out of her shell, but will need a person(s) who has some experience with anxious dogs and will be very patient and loving with her. Questions About this Animal? We adopted Oscar at 11 weeks from a breeder in Virginia. He is now 4.5 years old and has been with us the entire time. He’s a great family dog - very affectionate, smart, likes to cuddle, good with little kids, can be active, but can also just chill (if allowed, he'll sleep all day). He is protective, however, when it comes to unfamiliar adults and since we live in the city, it is hard to keep him separated from new people arriving at our small home or even walking on the sidewalk. He would do well outside the city with a family or just anyone who needs a funny, affectionate dog, but lives somewhere where he doesn’t need to interact with new people.

She’s working on sit, stay, and down, and she learns quickly—especially when treats are involved. Like any young puppy, she’s still mastering potty training, but she’s doing great with both the puppy pad and going outside. Every time she uses the pad or potties on her walks, she gets a treat and lots of praise. Kai has a playful spirit and loves to bounce around with her toys. She isn’t a big barker, but she’ll happily bark at her brother when she wants to start a game. She’s affectionate, loves attention, and will thrive in a home that gives her consistency and structure as she grows.

While Avery is quiet and relaxed indoors, he recently started giving a little bark at strangers when they’re outside the yard—he’s finding his voice, but in a thoughtful, gentle way.
