Hazel, also known as Hazelnuts and Squirrel Girl, is your companion for all things chore related! She is thought to be a Blue Heeler/Belgian Shepherd mix, is around 35 pounds and just over two years old. True to her obvious + suspected breeds, she is a working dog through and through who needs adequate physical and mental stimulation in order to be a content lap dog. She is capable of both and happiest when fulfilled is these ways. Currently, she is able to go on runs with her foster human. Generally, 2 two-mile jaunts to book end her days seem to satisfy her. She might do well in the country as her strong cattle dog behavior indicates a yearning for work life. So far, she seems happy with her urban life as long as she is able to find a runner or avid hiker to share her life with. Hazel also companionably shares her current life with an 80 pound pitbull/mastif + a little chihuahua mix. She is highly intelligent and agile - we suspect you could train her to do most anything. Perhaps agility training may satisfy her need to work. Hazel prefers her own space for sleeping and plays well alone, but is fully engaged with her human when they play with toys or climb trees (hence the name Squirrel Girl). She has been a low energy dog this first week in her foster home. She goes potty outside, then goes back indoors.Although with the warmer temps, she's more willing to stay outside longer. So far, she's not one for walking down the street or around the block, she may enjoy a fenced yard instead. Princess is crated overnight and when her foster is at work and does fine. It appears that she may be house trained for at least short periodsof time. She loves her toys and loves tearing them apart. Princess likes to lay close to her person for pets and belly rubs. Princess lived with her sister Oreo in GA and was dog tested with another resident dog. She was ok with the other dog, but slow introductions are always recommended. Story

Ollie's personality shines at home. He is an absolute goof ball and makes us laugh all the time with his antics. He is a stick-chomper, tug-lover, squeaker afficionado, and destroyer of all but the most durable toys. After a morning walk, he settles on his (Serta) bed or gazes out the window while his people are off at work. Anytime you come home, he is there at the door toy in mouth and tail wagging furiously. He loves butt scratches and wont hesitate to put his rear end in your face. He is house trained, crate trained (begrudgingly), and knows all of the standard commands. In full transparency, Ollie does have a bite history: single punctures or bruises. He has generalized anxiety and fear-based reactivity, but his triggers are mostly predictable and manageable. I dearly love him, but I am in medical school and do not have the means. He'd thrive in a single-dog home with 1-2 owners willing to take him for long walks, continue his medication and work with him through triggers.

Story

Fynn came to us through a foster service about a year and a half ago. He had no medical history apart from his recent vaccinations, not even a good estimate of his age. We were enchanted by his goofy smile and cautious but curious approach. What we couldn't know at the time is that Fynn has substantial anxiety, especially around body handling and strangers in the home. We have since employed an extensive professional care team to help Fynn acclimate in West Philadelphia, and while he has made great strides, he is still triggered by many aspects of city life (mainly noise and crowds). We have a close relationship with Fynn and wish we could keep him forever. He is eager to please, enjoys training, play, and snuggling on the couch. Unfortunately, there are certain privileges we cannot offer him -- a lot of land to run free and the quietude of suburban or rural life -- that now seem critical to his comfort. Could your home offer what ours cannot? We just want him to be happy.
