Story

Daphne is a playful, opinionated, 6 year old Blue Heeler. She's all smiles and play, spry, clever, and is excited to be with her most loved persons. She gets into mischief and is high energy - she needs a home with a lot of stimulation, and a carer with a sense of adventure happy to wear her out. She currently lives in a fenced yard, is crate trained and is housebroken. We are not aware of any health issues, she was examined and vaccinated in June of this year. We are looking to surrender Daphne because Daphne's prey drive is incompatible with living with our cat. We have attempted a slow introduction, and chase and capture became the natural outcome. We understand this is a trait related to her breed, and regrettably it's not sustainable for us to keep her. Daphne was also my mother and father's dog, and both passed in a three-year period, which is understandably a lot for Daphne's short life. She is beloved, and we want to honor the wishes of our parents in ensuring her happiness.

Occasionally reactive to people or dogs on walks, Reactive to large vehicles like trucks, vans, or buses and will try to chase Requires proper slow introduction to new people to feel comfortable Can be people selective. Very loving to her “pack” but reactive to new people Muffin is a 2 year old cattle dog female (DOB 4/29/24). Muffin would be able to thrive in suburban, rural, or farm environments. She is high energy and loves to play, with a very active lifestyle. The ideal situation for this girl would be someone familiar with this breed. She could potentially be a great dog for someone home alone often and would like a dog that wants to be attached at the hip.

She has done well with strangers and kids, not sure about cats. She did well in a crate and in a car. She likes to play but also loves attention. She will be a great companion for any family.

This friend has just arrived to us on transport from a high-intake shelter partner! When our friends are new to us, we are often unsure of their full background. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and update their bio with more information as we learn. They are pending interactions with animals until they have been cleared by our vet.
