Story
Hiya, I'm Link! A young boy like me is always ready for adventure, however I am looking for a partner that can take me through the serious training that I'll need in order to be adventure ready. As I was a stray, I can be a bit nervous with new people and I will let you know it. I'm not a fan of sharing my items and I'm picky with my dog friends too, although I may be good with the right one. I enjoy chin scratches and resting with my friends, but I don't enjoy cuddles. I'm looking for a home where all household residents are over 15, as I'm really looking for a family that is dedicated to making sure I succeed in my adventures. If you're interested in devoting time to have the best partner around, please stop by the shelter to meet me. ---This animal is available by appointment only. Please reach out to schedule a visit with one of his handlers!---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
Hello, I'm Magdalene and boy, do I have a story I could tell...if I could talk.I was caught and brought into the shelter as a stray after running free for TWO months! Two whole months, I was living on my own. Now, I'm a quiet shelter wondering what's next. Since I came in as a stray, the staff doesn't know too much about me. I'm nervous and scared right now so making new friends is slow going, but once I do, I am sweet and even seem to like belly rubs - but you have to earn my trust to see this belly. I'm not sure how I feel about other dogs yet, so a visit would be necessary. As for cats, those are an unknown too. My breed typically isn't a cat friendly breed, but we're all different, I may do OK with a proper introduction. Because so much about me is unknown and I'm still figuring things out, I need an experienced adult only family whose had cattle dogs before and knows what my breed needs. If you think that's you, reach out to my friends here at the shelter to see if we'd be a match!---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm. This dog is available by APPOINTMENT ONLY.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

KENNEL ID #01658&#226&#128&#139 Roy is a 5 year old sweetheart, a total cuddle bug. He and his sister Yaz are very friendly laid-back dogs born and raised in Texas. He is very smart and eager to please. He will make an excellent companion to any household. He loves to play outside and fetch. He walks well on a leash and has good manners. He was turned over to our rescue partners because his 50 year old owner passed away suddenly from an undiagnosed heart condition. Roy is heartworm positive and has started treatment. His sister Yaz has been adopted. Thank you for your interest in rescue. Story
KENNEL ID #01658&#226&#128&#139 O'Crowley was adopted from Diane's in May 2023 and returned because the resident cats are not handling his happy-go-lucky, personality. The cats have basically decided that either O’Crowley goes or they will continue to not use their litterbox. This poor guy spent the first week crying and in total disbelief that he was no longer in his home. It was truly heartbreaking for staff and volunteers. He was introduced to some of the other young dogs at Diane’s and is enjoying his is exercise time. If you're looking for an energetic, highly intelligent fine young lad to accompany you for every adventure you've got planned, this is the guy for you!  O’Crowley began his life in Bluff City, TN. At the young age of 5 weeks old he was viciously attacked by an adult pit bull. He suffered a skull fracture and trauma to his left eye and sinus area. He healed well from these injuries with only blindness in his left eye. A consultation with a veterinary ophthalmologist said that he was able to save the eye but at some point in the distant future he may need the eye removed. O’Crowley was sent to Diane’s Adoption Center in PA where he found a loving home. He graduated magna cum laude from the school of, What a Good Dog in Malvern with a degree in canine obedience. O’Crowley loves learning tricks like dancing on command and shaking hands. He has a great sense of humor and enjoys chasing cats and playing with other dogs. The dogs love his fun energy, cats not so much.  Thank you for your interest in rescue. Story
Rigtaoni (Rigs, Riggy, Toni, Queen Rigs) is 8 years old and is a wonderful, loving dog. She loves every human she meets, loves children, always has a waggle and a smile. She loves to chase tennis balls or frisbees. She is the sweetest <3 With the proper and slow introduction, Rigatoni has a few wonderful dog friends in her life - Oakley, Baily and others. But she is reactive to other random dogs. Why do we need to rehome Toni? We have 3 children ranging from 2 to 7. Toni is part Belgian Shepherd and her guarding instinct have only grown as she's welcome each new child lovingly. As our kids have grown, they now open doors and gates from yard and house. We live in an urban area (West Chester) and there are other dogs constantly walking by our house. We have had 3 issues where Toni has pushed through a door opened by kids to bite another dog. All 3 incidents have been minor with no one hurt but we feel like it is unfair situation to other dog owners, our kids and Toni to continue.
