Story
My name is Kartopu and I am looking for my forever home. I am a large, active boy, weighing in at about 60 pounds (though I have lost some weight playing with all the fun dogs here)! I am house trained and am trusted by myself in the house; I don't enjoy small places like the crate and would prefer to have my space when you aren't here. I'm learning about walking on leash (I can be fiesty getting the leash at first but am working on that with my foster parents; I don't mind it once it's on and love the adventures the leash takes me on!). I am initially more wary of men than women when I first meet them, but have come a long way in meeting and trusting new friends and have had lots more of these experiences in my foster home. My foster mom is working on redirecting me away from being mouthy when I get excited (so I would do best with older children and adults in an active household). Otherwise, I'm told I have the softest coat and give the best "good morning" kisses, and I absolutely love getting my head and ears scratched. I'm a great cuddler and very food motivated so I'm willing to learn more. I am doing great with the resident dogs here and love to chase and wrestle with them. NO CATS for me!Adoption fee: $425All dogs/puppies have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations. Story
Yahoo is an Australian Cattle Dog who weighs about 43 lbs and is considered a medium energy dog. He is a little timid at first, but when given the opportunity to approach on his own terms he is affectionate, snuggly and sweet! Yahoo rides great in the car and is a great companion on walks and hikes as he generally walks at your pace without pulling. He knows the sit, shake and down commands and picked up waiting at the door before going out in one try. He has does his business outside on walks and has not had any accidents in the house. He kenneled up for overnight without any resistance. If he trusts you he will roll on his back to get his chest/belly rubbed or snuggle up on the couch.Yahoo has many traits typical to Cattle dogs/Blue Heelers in that he will attempt to "herd" small children and has a prey drive for little critters. For these reasons he should not go to a home with cats, small children, mid-sized children prone to outbursts of high activity or those looking to start a family. He is very loyal to his people and can therefore be choosy with the dogs he meets, but with slow, proper introductions has made doggy friends. He also has one trait that is not typical to Cattle dogs - HE IS A CALM, DAPPER GENTLEMAN and a bit of a loaf... he would rather get pet than chase a ball, but will play with toys on occasion. But have no fear, he will be right there with you no matter how far you want to walk/hike/run.Do yourself a favor and meet this sweet boy! Please check back for updates as my foster family gets to know me. You can also watch for stories, pictures and videos about me on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/40103261297/ Ask to meet me today!! Story
Hey there! This is Marita! She is a 8-month-old heeler mix & full of love to give. She might get to 35 to 40 pounds full-grown. In my short time, I’ve been through a lot. It takes time for me to warm up to people because they’ve never done right by me before. She is shy at first and will need patience & space, but give her about a week to relax & her personality will start shining through. She will do well in a home with adults & older children. She tends to pick a favorite person but does well with everyone in the household. Marita is playful & lovable. She gives kisses all the time. She will need to have another dog in the home, she LOVES other dogs. She is smart & does well taking other dogs' cues. She is perfect with her kennel & sleeps all night. Marita has been doing well with potty training on a schedule. She has been learning commands like kennel up, outside, & down. If you are looking for a playful puppy who also loves to cuddle on the couch...Marita is your girl.DATCP# 483538

YOU MUST COMPLETE THE ADOPTION APPLICATION: www.hoovershausealldogrescue.com EVERY DOG IS UP TO DATE ON VACCINES FOR THEIR AGE.                                           RABIES VACCINE IF OLD ENOUGH.  SPAYED OR NEUTERED (regardless of age) NO EXCEPTIONS HEARTWORM and FLEA/TICK PREVENTATIVE MICROCHIPPED CERTIFIED VETERINARIAN INSPECTION CERTIFICATE ***WE ARE NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC*** ADOPTIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY! Rozzlo is a 1 year old, Red Heeler and Shepherd mix  Rozzlo and his litter mates were surrendered to the shelter at just 1 month old. He spent 2.5 months in the shelter, until his foster mom came in one day to pick out a new foster pup before Christmas! He has been with his foster mom for quite some time now because he requires an extra special someone to spend his life with.  He has a typical goofy puppy personality. He’s about 55 pounds and is great for someone looking for a dog that’s about the average size of a heeler. He loves his toys and tug of war is his favorite game. He enjoys a good game of chuck, too. Due to his breed mixture, he is extremely smart and learns most things quickly. He is kennel trained, potty trained, basic obedience trained, he rides well in the car (in his kennel), he walks well on leash, and loves to cuddles. He is not allowed on all of the furniture, so he does have an understanding of house rules. He tolerates baths, but is amazing at getting his nails done, teeth brushing, and fur brushing! He is very funny, loves to rough house with his people, and loves to talk.  He will require some form of daily exercise and training to keep him balanced and fulfilled. However, he does not require an unmanageable amount.  Rozzlo is looking for a very special person or family. This person must understand dog behavior and be willing to take on the responsibility of a dog who will need special care & training to thrive. Due to being dropped at the shelter so young and his genetic make-up, Rozzlo has some sass. He needs to be the only pet and the only child, for the rest of his life. He loves his adult humans, but needs to have someone that won’t force him to try to “make friends” with everyone. He’s pretty shy and doesn’t really trust strangers. As long as his person advocates for him and his space, he does fine out and about.  As always, we never guarantee the breed OR the size they'll be as an adult. MY ADOPTION FEE is $125.00 and I am only available in the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area We thank you for ADOPTING A HOOVERS HAUSE RESCUE DOG..... every dog adopted allows us to open our homes to save another! Isla 6mo old female Heeler mix Isla, the adorable 6-month-old heeler mix and is just as beautiful as her name suggests! She came to us as an abandoned puppy and is slow to trust., With some patience and understanding, she'll warm up to you and become your most loyal companion. Isla has already mastered the art of being housebroken and crate trained, which shows just how smart she is! Isla has been in a foster home and is learning to trust again. Her gentle and kind spirit will blossom with a patient and kind owner. She loves to go for hikes with her fur friends and play in the backyard. Isla would definitely need another dog in the home as a BFF and to learn from. Can you be that person to turn things around for this sweet pup? Story
Fishy is about 10 months old.  He is crate trained, playful. Would do well with a doggie friend with proper introductions. He is active and will need exercise. He hates fireworks.(when outside with them going off)   He did break a leg when he was young. This set him back on potty training. He knows what to do but is lazy we think. He is capable when on a schedule.  The broken leg has healed but it may result in arthritis when older.  $350 adoption donation cash or Venmo or PayPalIf you can't adopt or foster, please think about sponsering a cat/dog, puppy/kitten. Just $20 a month will help feed one. Just $40 will get a kitten spayed/neutered. The possiblities are endless. These creatures come from shelters who by no choice of their own, would have to put the down, simply because there are too many. The more donations we receive, the more we are able to help. Thanks in advance for your support.September 29, 2023, 2:38 pm
