Violet and her 7 siblings were abandoned in a box in Mississippi. They were found and cared for by a Good Samaritan. They are now ready to find their forever homes! According to her foster family:"She's pretty friendly and more oriented around people than other dogs. She likes running a little in the dog park but wasn't really into playing with the other dogs.She really wanted to go up and meet people that we would walk by. She's quite good motivated and not that into toys. Eventually she did want to chase a stick a few times.She's really loving and pretty mellow. You can see she enjoys pets and sniffing. And loves treats.She walks pretty well on the leash but if she wants to go a different way from you, she pulls a little bit then just lays down like ‘I will go no more' but then will roll over on her belly for a tummy scratch. Ashton was returned to Mag Mutts due to a change in the family which did allow the time to spend with him which made for long days in his crate. He is just over a year old, about 65lbs and has a gorgeous, slick black coat. Ashton's whole world has been turned upside down and he can be a little nervous so will need an adopter with patience to allow him time to settle (the 3-3-3 rule applies to Ashton). He would love a person, couple or family to spend time with him and would do best as the only dog in the home. He would make a great candidate for obedience training to improve his confidence and for bonding with his new family. Ashton is a silly boy! He is house and crate trained, improving with leash walking, loves kids, playing, belly rubs and back scratches. Knows basic commands of sit, down and working on paw. He just wants you to be his best friend and will put his paw on you to get attention! He loves being told "He's a good boy" and is very treat motivated! Penny is a sweet, good-natured, and loyal dog. She is very loving towards humans. However, she simply does not get along with other dogs and needs more exercise than we can give her. We adopted Penny from a shelter in 2018. She is about 8 years old. The ideal home for Penny is one without another dog; she also would ideally be with a family with a yard or with the time to take her on frequent walks. She loves running and would make a great running companion. We have recently learned that Penny has an anxiety disorder. We are working with a behavior specialist to see if we can find the right combination of medication and training to address her issues. Penny likes to nibble at hanging blankets and towels. We are trying to get to the bottom of whether that is a stomach issue or a psychological issue (or a combo!) Penny is truly an AMAZING dog. We are devastated that we can no longer provide the best home for her. We love her so much and want to be sure she goes to a loving home.
