Story
JUNIOR is an adorable itty bitty beagle boy looking for a home. He's about 1 year old and fully grown at just 18 pounds. He's a lively little guy who needs lots of play and activity. He needs a home with another playful, friendly dog and a secure physically-fenced yard. Junior is housebroken and crate trained. If you'd like to meet little Junior, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Junior at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. Story
ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED! Meet PATSY PUGGLE, a sweet, gentle timid girl looking for a home. Patsy Puggle has been a months-long project for her foster mom. She came to the rescue a terrified mess. She was a stray dog who gave birth to puppies. She had to be trapped in order to be captured along with her pups. We were told that a rescue agreed to take the puppies, but wouldn't take mama because she was so terrified. It's been a journey getting Patsy ready for a home, but she's finally ready! Patsy Puggle is a puggle (pug/beagle)-type mixed breed girl, 5ish years old and fully grown at 25 pounds. Patsy needs a quiet home with a patient adopter who will help build her confidence. Patsy Puggle needs a well-balanced dog sibling to help her navigate life. She adores her confident foster sister. She MUST have a fur sibling, no exceptions. Patsy Puggle needs a secure, physically fenced yard to keep her safe. Patsy Puggle is housebroken, crate trained and dog and cat friendly. If you would like to meet Patsy Puggle, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. Story
SLIM is a sweet older beagle boy who was destined for euthanasia after landing in a rural shelter in rough shape. We are so glad we were able to save this sweet gentle guy. He's about 8 years old and 26 pounds. Slim is a low key guy who loves to cuddle. He's housebroken and crate trained, fine with kids and other dogs. He's not particularly interested in other dogs, we believe he'd be perfectly fine as an only dog. Slim tested positive for heartworms and is currently undergoing treatment. He poses no threat to the health of other dogs in the home. Left untreated, heartworm disease kills dogs. PLEASE keep your dog on a heartworm prevention plan as prescribed by your veterinarian. Slim will go to a furever home for an extended trial period, his adoption will not be finalized until his treatment is complete. He must go to a home in greater Cincinnati, his treatment will take place at our vet's office in Batavia. If you'd like to meet Slim, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. Story
Sweet beagle girl ELAINE is pure joy. What an absolute sweetheart. She's an 8-ish year old 27 pound playful, silly, affectionate girl. She loves taking "grass baths" in the yard, rolling and wiggling like she's trying to become one with the grass. Elaine also loves to run and play with toys. Give her a stuffy and she's off to the races. We believe Elaine was a former hunting dog and she's given birth to litters of puppies in the past. She was a low key girl when she arrived from a rural shelter, clearly not feeling well. With proper vet care (including a dental) and good nutrition her happy-go-lucky personality has emerged. She's affectionate, good with other dogs and seems fine with cats. Elaine needs a home with a physically-fenced yard to keep her from following her beagle nose into trouble. If you'd like to meet darling Elaine, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter.
