I was adopted as a puppy and sadly found my way back to the rescue due to family circumstances. While that wasn’t the plan, I’m hoping my forever family is still out there waiting for me! I’m a very curious and inquisitive guy—I love to sniff around and investigate everything going on in my world. When I first came back to the rescue, stuffed toys were actually banned for me because I used to immediately shred them. The good news? I’ve improved! I can have them again now… although I’ll admit I still enjoy chewing on them and occasionally pulling some stuffing out. Old habits die hard. When it comes to playmates, I really enjoy dogs that are smaller than me—they’re my kind of crowd! Bigger dogs, though? I’d rather keep my distance. I also tend to chase cats, so a cat-free home would probably be best. I would also do best in a home without younger children, as I prefer a calmer environment where I can relax and feel comfortable. One of my favorite things in the world is treats and cuddling with my humans. If you have a blanket, just know it automatically becomes our blanket. In fact, if you see a lump under a blanket on the couch, you might want to check before sitting down… it could be me! Because I only have 21 teeth left, crunchy treats are a little tough for me to chew. Softer chews are my favorite! And since I’m missing a few teeth, my tongue hangs out about 95% of the time, which just adds to my charm. As a senior gentleman, I do have a couple medical conditions. I have Cushing’s disease and low B12, which means I’ll need medication for the rest of my life. I also take a little medicine for separation anxiety when my humans leave, but if you’re just gone for a few hours, I’ll handle it like a champ. What I’m really looking for is a cozy home, some soft treats, a warm blanket, and humans who love to cuddle as much as I do. If that sounds like you, I think we might be a perfect match. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website..Meet Little Jack . Little Jack is an adorable 5-year-old Beagle/Jack Russell Terrier mix who is looking for a loving home. He is wonderful with men, women, and children and is friendly with everyone he meets. With proper introductions, he does well with other dogs, too. Little Jack is a true cuddle-bug who loves being with his person and would happily spend his days as a lap dog. He has had surgery to repair a luxating patella in his knee and has made a full recovery. He is doing great now with no issues from his knee. Little Jack does have some separation anxiety, when left alone, he may pace and bark. He can be a little vocal at times, especially when he’s excited, but his sweet personality makes up for it. His ideal adopters should be home more often than not. A securely fenced yard is required for Little Jack. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Murray is a Beagle mix estimated to be about 10 years old. He is a very gentle, low-maintenance, easy dog and, despite his age, has a spring in his step and can run surprisingly fast. He displays those lovable [but occasionally annoying] Beagle behaviors such as magically appearing when there is food to be had, letting his nose direct his steps...usually in haste to a tantalizing smell, lavishing his affection on humans and sleeping the night away with visions of squirrels dancing in his head! Murray enjoys walks and does great on leash. After his walk, he patiently waits for you to wipe his feet off so he doesn’t track debris into the house. He loves rolling in the grass and soaking up the sunshine. Murray is house-trained and a gentleman in the home. He is very quiet. He does exhibit some mild separation anxiety when left alone but is not destructive. When you return, whether it’s been 2 minutes or 3 hours, Murray greets you like you are a rock star! He forms a strong bond with his family and is very loyal. Murray requires only gentle correction or redirection. His whole life is focused on pleasing his humans! He also loves other canine companions and would love to have a canine friend. Though 10-ish, Murray still has several good years ahead of him. He is healthy, has no known medical issues, is UTD on vaccines, neutered and microchipped. He came into care with rotted teeth and open nasal fistulas and had extensive dental surgery to remove all his remaining rotted teeth and suture the fistulas. Murray has recovered well from his surgery. Because all his teeth were removed his tongue hangs out all the time. But that only makes him all the cuter! He has a healthy appetite and eats soft food with dry kibble softened with warm water. Murray just wants a family to love….could it be yours? SARAI 7 years Attributes Dog friendly Housetrained Crate trained Potties on leash Requires a fence Sarai (pronounced Sorry), is estimated to be about 7 years old and came from a hoarding situation. She was pregnant when we rescued her and her pups are already on their way to a better life. Sarai is a Beagle mix with some Sheltie, Chihuahua and Dachshund thrown in. She is a petite gal, weighing only 15 pounds. With her unfortunate start, Sarai is still learning how to be a cherished family pet. She loves to be petted though and can be independent until she wants attention, then she is in your face until she’s ready to lay down! She sleeps nicely in her dog bed or crate and is housetrained with a dog door and puppy pads. She’s learning to be comfortable on a leash and walks well, but if something scares her she'll stop and want to be picked up & carried. She’s also still learning to play. She has done well with her pups but is not sure about other dogs quite yet, so she would likely do fine as an only dog but also may enjoy the company of other dogs. She was around cats in her previous situation but we have not observed how she reacts to them. A fenced yard would be nice since she's still getting the hang of walking on a leash. She does okay in the car, but can pant some. Sarai is really starting to love life. Will you be her next big forever adventure and continue to show her love? We started out as a litter of six, but our sister Laurel was recently adopted. Now, five of us are still waiting for our forever homes! Our mom, Maple, is a petite 18-pound Beagle mix who took wonderful care of us. Thanks to her, we are all happy, healthy, and thriving. According to our DNA test, we are 54.1% Beagle, 20.6% Shetland Sheepdog, and 8.1% Dachshund, with just a sprinkle of Chihuahua, Poodle and some other breeds mixed in. Since our mom is so small, we expect to stay on the smaller side once fully grown. Meet the crew: Birch: The biggest boy of the bunch, weighing in at 8 pounds at 8 weeks old. He's cuddly, easygoing, and my best buddy. With his tan coat, he looks a bit like a miniature yellow Lab! Joshua: Our goofy, fun "baby brother." He has adorable shorter legs—definitely the Dachshund shining through! He's always up for a good wrestling match. Aspen: She was the runt of the litter, but she has caught up beautifully. Aspen is smart and independent—she was the first to wean, the first to master squeaky toys, and is already catching on to potty training! Olive: A sweet, laid-back girl with the fluffiest coat of the group. Like Joshua, she rocks the low-rider look with shorter legs and loves to lounge. Ash (That's me!): The coolest guy around! I have a sleek build like my momma, but foster mom says she sees a little Sheltie in my expressive eyes and cute little nose. I'm a happy-go-lucky pup who loves playtime just as much as snuggling. We are the sweetest Beagle mix puppies and all ready to fill your home with cuddles, puppy kisses, and endless love!
