Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Rocky LOVES people! He likes attention, plenty of pets, and enjoys snuggling. Rocky is a 2 year old beagle. Rocky came to the rescue with Butterball after their owner passed away. Rocky and Butterball do get along well and might like to be adopted together but would also be good adopted separately. Rocky gets along with other dogs and cats. He does like to mess with cats by staring at them or blocking their way. Rocky is treat motivated and loves food. In fact he is overweight and needs to lose about 15lbs. Rocky can be barker and will bark if he does not get his way. Rocky is a great dog with a lot of personality! If you are interested in making Rocky a member of your family fill out an application. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Della is a tall and slim senior hound mix, she actually still feels and acts like a young dog. She is very good with other dogs and enjoys zooming the yard in her foster home with a 6 month old hound puppy. She will do best in a home with a fenced yard and someone that enjoys long walks or other outdoors activities. Della is 25 lbs but her body build makes her look bigger than her weight. Della enjoys her crate (42in) where she sleeps through the night on her soft bed. The crate is her refuge during the day too, the door is always open for her to walk in for a nap. The foster home can be a noisy place at times since she shares with 6 other dogs of all ages and sizes. Della is friendly with a loving demeanor but to get attention she sometimes jumps up on humans and may knock young kids over, we have been working on teaching her not to jump but not there yet. As many hounds Della is very food motivated which makes training easier, old dogs can definitely learn new tricks if the right treats are available. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. May 25, 2024, 2:41 pm

Story
Charlie is a very handsome 6-year-old beagle boy searching for his forever home. He loves his humans and enjoys getting attention from his foster mom. He is housetrained, loves car rides, potties in his fenced yard and during his walks. He follows the lead from the other dogs in his foster home. During walks he is very curious about any wildlife smells. He has a high prey drive and will try to climb over the fence. Charlie’s new home will require a very secure fence and close supervision when in the yard. Charlie would do best in a home where he is the only dog. Because of his high prey drive, he will need a home with no cats. Charlie is a very loving medium energy dog and will make the perfect addition for the right home. Contact your Midwest BREW adoption counselor if you would like to know more about Charlie. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
This gorgeous young gal with movie-star looks is Avalon! At five months old, she’s all puppy and is a bit klutzy as she’s still growing. Once she gets her sea legs, though, she’d make a great companion for an avid walker or runner. A home with a yard where she can burn off her puppy energy by romping and playing would be ideal. Playtime with other dogs is a serious business for Avalon, so supervision while she’s playing is a good idea. Avalon is a beagle/boxer/terrier mix, and we’re guessing that she’ll weigh in the neighborhood of 40 to 50 pounds once she’s an adult. Because of her size, she’ll need supervision around smaller children but should be fine with older ones. Her foster mom says she’s very food motivated and “eats like a vacuum” (show us a beagle who doesn’t!), so if there are other dogs in the house, she should be fed separately from them. She does well in a crate at night and is mostly housetrained with a doggy door, although she still has the occasional accident. If you’re looking to liven up your days with a sweet, affectionate, energetic companion, Avalon may be the dog you’ve been looking for! NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI). Please read our Standards for Adoption and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full-time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog that will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements. We discourage the adoption of puppies to families with children under the age of six, since puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets, hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.
