Story
Hi! My name is Zoey and I am available for adoption. I was returned to RASKC when my previous adopter could no longer care for me. They said I was the best dog in the world, am friendly with everyone but am scared of thunderstorms. If there is one word that can be used to describe me it`s `busy.` I`m always up for something! That`s because I`m a Belgian Malinois mix! Malinois are a smart, sensitive and trainable breed and I`m a great example of those traits. I know all my basic commands (sit, down, stay, come) and am very responsive to my person. I love playing outdoors, climbing on agility equipment and jumping to catch tennis balls in midair! Speaking of jumping, I am very accomplished at that too so secure confinement, including a roof, will be a must for me when my family is away. I can jump 6ft and am a very good climber as well. I have a lot of energy and a lot of drive. There are so many things I could excel at in my new home! I could be your hiking buddy, swimming buddy, camping buddy. I could do agility, obedience or nosework too. I really am up for anything! My `off switch` could use a tune up so someone who can help me learn that I don`t need to work all the time would be a good fit. I am confident with other dogs and could be in a multi-dog household with appropriate introductions and management. I could do well with older, dog savvy children as well.My personality color is RED. I am a spirited dog with a fun-loving personality! I am still working on my manners, so I would do best with a family who is willing to work with me and help me become the best dog I can be!

Story
Animal Profile: Buttercup is a 2-year-old, 55 lb spayed female "Texas Brown Dog" who joined us from Texas on 7/15/22 as an unsure adolescent. We have worked diligently with her in training to improve her confidence so she can be successful in her forever home. Foster Update: This young and energetic girl will do anything for a treat and very much wants to please her humans. She is building confidence; however, her anxious energy translates to reactivity at times. Off-leash she greets humans with excitement or indifference both in the house and the yard. She is doing well with the three large resident male dogs in the house after structured integration. She can play all day and has benefited from dog companions who can gently correct and/or join in her exuberance, as well as lead her in confident appropriate behaviors. She is potty trained and crate trained and often goes into her crate on her own to relax. While in foster care, Buttercup has received training from Bulletproof Balanced Training; her adopter will receive a private take-home training session. This girl is destined to be a wonderful loving member of her forever pack. Adopter Profile: Adult-only household Large breed experience preferred Secure fenced yard preferred Other dogs preferred (not required) Cat testing available for approved applicants Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay, core vaccinations per AVMA guidelines, negative heartworm test for dogs 6 months and older, and microchip. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization.  Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application  April 18, 2024, 6:07 am

Story
Animal Profile: King is an estimated 1-year 5-month-old 74 lb neutered male Malinois who was a stray intake to the Moreno Valley animal shelter and assessed to be friendly with dogs and people (albeit a bit unruly and in need of training). After over two months in the shelter environment with no interest, he became increasingly frustrated and was red-listed for "kennel stress." We have pulled him and we will share more info as we get to know him in foster care.   * King has been in foster care with On the Mark Balanced Training * Foster Updates:  King is a goofy, high-energy, friendly boy! He absolutely loves people and is a confident boy -- he has not been scared or hesitant about anything he’s come across so far. He is calm and quiet in his kennel, goes in on command, and waits to be released. He would do well in an active home that likes running or long walks. We think he would also love to try dog sports such as agility, nosework or dock diving. He likes to play ball and rolls upside down with his ball when he needs a break from running. He is neutral with other dogs and when allowed to interact off-leash does want to play (though he is a bit oblivious to other dogs' cues so would do best with tolerant playmates). He has learned to walk nicely on the leash and is doing well with the place command. He is currently being fostered by On the Mark Balanced Training and will come with a take home lesson to teach you how to walk him with a nice loose leash and a place command. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.   Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: King was a stray intake to Moreno Valley animal shelter on January 16, and transferred to Dog Gone Seattle, arriving to Seattle area foster care on 2/18. He will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care. April 18, 2024, 6:07 am
