Story

The good: Super easy to train Understands & obeys “here” “come” “off” “leave it (before object is in mouth)” “drop it (after object is in mouth)” “wait (with a release)”, “go to bed” without question Loves fetch Has great recall Can run alongside a bike. Good table manners (won’t steal food/counter surf, can free feed). LOVES people. The bad: Does not like new dogs, lives with 2 others currently. Only likes dogs “in her pack” (usually takes a couple days to be “in her pack”) Does not like small kids, sometimes she’s fine with them other times not, no idea why. The weird: Scared of cats, never harmed one and will stare constantly if they are in the room, has lived with them before. Loves to “work” wants a job to do. High energy, good to take on runs, or bike rides No medical issues. Reason for rehoming: Wife is pregnant and we won’t have the capacity to meet her needs & give her “work” like we have been, in combination with her weird attitude toward small kids.

Story

Meet Mezzy, our sweet 5‑year‑old rescue from Todos Santos, Mexico. She’s fully house‑trained and crate‑trained, and has come a long way since joining our family. She thrives on attention and affection. She has her little quirks—she’s nervous on hard floors (rugs work!) and doesn’t like feeling trapped inside. She loves to nap in the sun and spend her days relaxing outdoors, so she’d do best in a home with plenty of space and a yard where she can roam, rest, and feel free. Mezzy has bursts of energy in the mornings and evenings and looks forward to her daily walks—her absolute favorite activity! She can be reactive on leash around other dogs, but this has been manageable with training and plenty of treats. She’s great with kids and friendly with people, though she sometimes gets a little too excited when greeting. Mezzy loves affection but isn’t a cuddler—she prefers being near you, not necessarily on you. She deserves a devoted and attentive owner to give her the love she needs.

Story

Alder is an extremely sweet, quiet, shy boy. He is the dog version of an introvert. He is gentle and sticks to himself and is great with other dogs of all sizes and with cats. He doesn't engage much with them thought as he prefers to do his own thing. He has to be the most low maintenance and chill dog I've ever had in the rescue out of hundreds of dogs. He is hesitant with people he doesn't know but never aggressive. Not an ounce of aggression. He was listed as a pit bull mix at the shelter when he was smaller and still a younger puppy but now that he is an older puppy (about a year) it's obvious that he is not a pittie but looks more like a border collie. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found.
