Story
Bonnie is a 6 year old, 42 pound Border Collie mix. She's a gentle soul with a mellow temperament. She loves to go for walks. She currently walks twice a day for a total of 2 to 3 hours everyday. She c an be dog friendly if introduced slowly to other dogs who are very dog friendly. Bonnie is always eager to make new friends, and her intelligence shines through in her quick learning of new tricks. Bonnie, like many dogs (and humans!) does not take too kindly to dogs off leash who run up to her, so that's something to be aware of and continue to work with her on.   Even though Bonnie is a Border Collie mix, she isn't  anxious or hyper. She is very calm (fireworks don't phase her), loyal and intelligent.  She doesn't bark often and never whines. She greets visitors nicely. She loves agility and learns obedience and tricks quickly.  She also gets bored quickly so likes new challenges and places to walk and explore.  Surprisingly, she is not very interested in herding or fetching a ball.  Bonnie would prefer to be the only animal in her home, though she has lived with dogs and cats in the past, she can covet her food just a bit too much.  Bonnie is is fully housetrained!   Food is a big focus for Bonnie. She will do almost anything for a treat, which helps with training. On walks she is very interested in food that is left on the sidewalk, in the grass, etc. Awareness on the part of her human is important. If you leave food where she can get it on the counter, she will take advantage of this.  Working with her on knowing she always has enough will be important.  Kongs and snuffle pads will help her with positive food focuses!  While on walks,  s he is eager to chase a squirrel while on lead, and the foster has been working on the "focus" technique while out walking with Bonnie to quell her enthusiasm for squirrels (and rabbits).   Bonnie comes with a training session with one of our contracted fear free trainers, to get you on the right track with her. She also has pretty great recall off leash at about 80% of the time, but as mentioned, a squirrel may take top priority right now!   This girl rides beautifully in the car and loves to go!  She has become very sweet at the groomers for nail trims, the vet's and her favorite pet store.  She is great about being groomed at home weekly.  She can be a little anxious about new enclosed places.  Lots of treats and patience help this. She attends choir practice every week and is an honorary member of the choir! She greets everyone and then lays down under the piano to enjoy the music.  Bonnie's gentle demeanor makes her a great companion. She's also known for giving the best hugs, providing comfort and warmth in the most endearing way. Smart, sweet, and gentle, Bonnie is truly a gem. If you are interested in meeting Bonnie, fill out an application and we will be in touch. Our Protocol: Underdogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Adoption fee is $390. Bonita is being fostered in the Portland Metro Area.  You MUST have an Underdogs Rock Rescue application on file to request a meet with an Underdog. Story
We are Herman’s second family. His first owner was elderly and became ill, so could no longer care for him. We have had him for about three years but my husband was recently diagnosed with AML and will need a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately we will need to rehome Herman for my husband’s health and safety. He is an extremely intelligent and loving dog. He is a barker. On walks, he will bark at other dogs but we have found that crossing the street, getting him to sit and wait while talking to and petting his head helps to calm him down. Then he continues his walk just fine. We have two teenagers and one other dog (a lab) in the house that he does really well with. He also warms up to new people in the home quickly. To my knowledge he has not been around young children or cats, so not sure how he would do. He does not play with toys but loves chewing on his bones. He is crate trained, but just hasn’t used one in a couple of years.

Story
Champ is a beautiful 'red' Border Collie that will make a great pet. He is house, kennel and leash trained. Totally fine with cats, horses and all dogs. He's a year and a half old and less than 40 lbs.Champ will take a while to trust a new person, but he is well worth it! The less people in the home the better. A busy home would make him nervous. We want him to have another dog or dogs in his next home as well as a fenced yard is required.Champ is neutered, microchipped and current on vaccines. His adoption fee is only $250 to approved home. Please go to sccpets.com and fill out the adoption application for Champ! If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application.August 7, 2026, 12:23 am

Story
I got him when he was 6 months old I needed a dog at the time cuz I was lonely and was getting kicked out of my place I was staying at and just needed a dog. He's very loyal and loving towards me other people he can be kinda timid but has never bitten anyone. He doesn't like passing cars or booms such as fireworks. I'm looking for someone who will be with him all the time I can't be with him all the time since I work. A big fenced yard would be nice or even a field that way he can get out and run like he wants to. Other dogs might not be a good idea since he doesn't like other dogs.

Story
Alder is basically the dog version of an introvert. Quiet, gentle, low-key, and completely content doing his own thing, Alder is one of the easiest and lowest-maintenance dogs I have ever had in the rescue out of hundreds of dogs. He is around a year old and was originally labeled as a pit bull mix at the shelter when he was younger and still looked like a generic puppy. But now that he is older, it is very obvious that he is not a pittie and instead looks much more like a Border Collie mix. Alder is wonderful with other dogs of all sizes and also great with cats. He peacefully coexists with everyone but honestly doesn’t care much about joining the chaos or playing constantly. He prefers to quietly exist nearby and observe the world at his own pace. He is shy and hesitant with new people at first, but there is not an ounce of aggression in him. He is simply a soft, sensitive dog who takes a little time to feel comfortable. Once he settles in, Alder is incredibly easy to live with. He is not demanding, not hyper, not loud, and not needy. He is the type of dog who quietly becomes part of your daily life without bringing chaos into it. Good fit: someone looking for a calm, quiet, low-maintenance companion who does not need constant stimulation or activity to be happy. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (neutered/spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $450 (includes transport + vetting) Bonus: Each adoption includes a 30-minute phone consultation with a professional trainer Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Think you might be a good fit?
