Story
Meet Matt – Your next adventure buddy! Matt is a very confident and smart 6-month-old Border Collie (mix?) male pup. He is also super snuggly, and human focused! Matt is ready to explore the world by your side! A little about Matt: • Loves to learn and is extremely food motivated – a trait that is particularly helpful for training. • Is fine in his crate • Gets along with other dogs. He could also be fine as an only dog. • Is doing great on the leash • House trained. Matt has that working collie grit, which might try the casual dog owner. He is the nemesis of the foster’s cat, which he likes to stalk – so any cat in the household would need to be very dog savvy. Due to his high energy and desire to learn, Mat would do best in an active home, farm, or ranch, although he might be one to chase livestock if given the chance and not properly trained. He would likely be a great candidate for agility. Matt is being fostered in Portland, Oregon. Matt’s reported birthdate is August 10, 2025. As of 6 months of age, he weighed in at about 30 lb. He is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations and has been wormed and microchipped. His adoption fee is $400. If you are interested in adopting Matt and are pre-approved, please contact the adoption team at hunahapps@gmail.com. Story
Meet Dutch🤎, a stunningly handsome and charming almost 2-year-old boy with a rich, chocolate-brown coat and captivating blue eyes that sparkle with kindness🥰. This loving boy was welcomed into a wonderful family in the San Diego area about 8 months ago. Initially, Dutch was more reserved and fearful when rescued from the shelter, but with time, he blossomed into a confident companion for his family, except for the husband, around whom he seems anxious and stressed. Despite the husband's patient and loving approach, Dutch remains wary, prompting his family to consider finding a new home where he can thrive without fear. With his current family, Dutch has formed strong bonds with the wife and kids, who adore him dearly, but they've come to realize that a woman-only household might be the perfect solution for Dutch to live a stress-free life. His family believes Dutch may have had a negative experience with a man in the past, which has led to his hesitation around men unless they exhibit familiar characteristics. Importantly, Dutch has never shown aggression and is great with cats and other dogs, making him an excellent addition to any household. He's potty-trained, crate-trained, and loves spending time in his crate and bed. Dutch is neutered, vaccinated, and chipped, and his current family is heartbroken but hopeful that he'll find a loving home🏡 where he can receive all the love and care he deserves. If you're thinking of adding a loving companion to your family and believe you'd be the perfect match for Dutch, get your application in ASAP! This gorgeous boy will undoubtedly capture your heart💗with his loving nature.😻 Currently being cared for in Southern California, Dutch can be transported to northern states such as Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, or other locations within the continental United States, where a loving family awaits to welcome him.

Story
📣Border collie lovers, meet our tiny super gorgeous Milky Way🐶, a shining star✨ who's ready to light up the life of her forever family! She's just barely a year old and about petite 28lbs little cutie pie 🥰. This sweet girl was on the euthanasia list at the shelter for being terrified, but we knew she deserved a second chance, and now she needs a miracle worker to help her blossom🌸 . As of now, she just wants to hide in the corner and withdraw from people, and doesn't even try to interact with other dogs, but we know that with patience, love, and care, she'll come out of her shell and shine✨ . A doggie savvy person with timid doggie experience would be her perfect match, but we're confident that her happy loving home🏡 is out there, waiting to welcome her with open arms🤗 . She never shows a trace of aggression, but this poor sweet girl seems terrified of humans, even after being rescued, but we know that time, love, and decompression from the trauma of her previous life, including the horrors of doggie jail, will help her heal and show her she's safe and very loved💓. She lets us give her pets, and that's a great start! Milky Way deserves to live a life filled with joy, love, and adventure, and we're hoping there's a wonderful foster or adopter out there who's willing to provide the love, kindness, and patience she needs to become the happy-go-lucky girl she's meant to be💖! Please reach out if you'd love to meet our girl, get your application in ASAP, and get ready to witness her amazing transformation! How exciting it would be!🤩 Currently being cared for in Southern California, Milky Way can be transported to northern states such as Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, or other locations within the continental United States, where a loving family awaits to welcome the sweet little girl.

Story
We adopted Anna from the shelter in fall of 2024. She has overall been a pretty great dog all things considered. We are choosing to re-home her for a couple of reasons: 1st my roommate and I are planning to move out and neither of us will be able to take care of her by ourselves. 2nd she has a lot of energy, and needs to go out often. Our home doesn't have a yard so that means we have to walk her often and we just can't keep up. I wouldn't recommend someone without a yard take her. 3rd is she just needs some more time for training. Overall she has been very good but she gets a little anxious when left alone, and likes to jump to indicate she wants to play. We really just want her to have a good home. For house training she was good for a while but has had a couple accidents. We think due to not enough outside chances but she was good for months just a couple recent accidents to be known about.

Story
Little Foot is Sponsored by A FriendMeet Little Foot 🐾Little Foot is an adorable mixed breed pup (we’re guessing Border Collie with a splash of either Corgi or Spaniel) with a gentle soul and a heart that’s even bigger than his ears. He’s missing all of the toes on his front left foot, but don’t let that fool you — Little Foot gets around just fine and doesn’t let it slow him down. The vet indicates he was likely born missing the toes or had a very early injury in life. This sweet boy had a rough start to life, so he can be a very shy when you first meet him. Give him a bit of time, patience, and kindness, and you’ll quickly see his true personality shine. Once he warms up, Little Foot is incredibly affectionate, loving, and eager to be close to his people.Little Foot would thrive in a calm, understanding home that’s ready to show him how good life can be. In return, he’ll give you quiet loyalty, gentle affection, and the kind of love that only a dog who’s been through a lot can offer. If you’re looking for a special pup with a resilient spirit and a whole lot of love to give, Little Foot might just be your perfect match. 💙If you are interested in meeting Little Foot, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment.
