Border Collie puppies and dogs in Happy Valley, Oregon

Are you in the market for a new walking buddy with a snuggly side? Kip is about a year old, around 30 pounds, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and doing great in her apartment life. She doesn't bark and is quiet in her crate waiting for her people to come home. She's a bit shy when meeting new folks, but she warms up once she knows she is safe. She's got brains as well as looks. She's learned sit, down, paw, fetch, and even drop it on cue. And she walks beautifully on a leash. She's great with other dogs and currently lives with a cat with no issues. She does have that classic herding instinct, so someone who understands that would be great. But, if you're looking for a sweet companion to share walks, a little fetch and some couch snuggles, Kip might be your girl. Kip is located in Austin but you can meet her over a video call. Her adoption fee covers transport to the PNW area. Apply here https://www.centraltexasruffugees.org/copy-of-foster

Meet Ruthy Mavis Smarty Pants! Ruth is a 2-year-old Border Collie and Shepherd mix who is smart, joyful, and such a catch! She has a bright mind that is always working and a happy spirit that lights up every room she walks into. Sweet, curious, and full of personality, she greets each day like it’s an invitation to learn something new, and her joy is contagious. She’s the kind of girl who makes you smile just by being herself. Ruth is great with her foster siblings, and she would do best with larger dogs. Cats would be okay in the house, and she did great with our resident cat. She loves her toys and can happily play by herself too, taking breaks when she needs them, so she’s just as content with a game of her own as she is with a friend. She is ready for a loving family who will give her the active life she needs. Ruth would be a great adventure buddy, a farmers market sidekick, or a trailblazer on the trail, and she walks great on leash, so she’s ready to go wherever you are. She’s also athletic, with skilled jumps and leaps from her past life as a circus performer. She balances all that energy with a real love for people and affection, and she’s happy to curl up close after a day of adventures. Ruth is also ready for someone to teach her new things. With her Border Collie and Shepherd brains, she’s eager to learn, and the right person will have a blast showing her new tricks, skills, and games. Plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and training are recommended to keep this bright girl happy. Ruth is looking for a family with plenty of love, an active lifestyle, and a lot of adventures planned. Could that be you? Alder is basically the dog version of an introvert. Quiet, gentle, low-key, and completely content doing his own thing, Alder is one of the easiest and lowest-maintenance dogs I have ever had in the rescue out of hundreds of dogs. He is around a year old and was originally labeled as a pit bull mix at the shelter when he was younger and still looked like a generic puppy. But now that he is older, it is very obvious that he is not a pittie and instead looks much more like a Border Collie mix. Alder is wonderful with other dogs of all sizes and also great with cats. He peacefully coexists with everyone but honestly doesn’t care much about joining the chaos or playing constantly. He prefers to quietly exist nearby and observe the world at his own pace. He is shy and hesitant with new people at first, but there is not an ounce of aggression in him. He is simply a soft, sensitive dog who takes a little time to feel comfortable. Once he settles in, Alder is incredibly easy to live with. He is not demanding, not hyper, not loud, and not needy. He is the type of dog who quietly becomes part of your daily life without bringing chaos into it. Good fit: someone looking for a calm, quiet, low-maintenance companion who does not need constant stimulation or activity to be happy. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (neutered/spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $450 (includes transport + vetting) Bonus: Each adoption includes a 30-minute phone consultation with a professional trainer Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Think you might be a good fit? Mac came to rescue as a puppy last summer with his three siblings, Dee, Dennis, and Charlie. All three of them were adopted promptly, but somehow Mac is still waiting for his turn. His siblings looked more like German Shepherd mixes, but Mac took a different direction. At just 36 lbs, he looks more like a Border Collie/Heeler mix and is a great medium size. Mac is a happy, easygoing boy who is very low maintenance and doesn't need constant attention or entertainment. He's great with other dogs and with cats and is perfectly content just being part of everyday life. After watching all three of his siblings leave for homes of their own, it's time for Mac to finally get his. Good fit: someone looking for a happy, easygoing, low-maintenance companion who gets along well with both dogs and cats. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), I always take my dogs back.
