Story
Hi, I'm Bentley! I'm a 1-year-old, 56-pound bundle of energy, personality, and potential, and I'm looking for a family who loves a smart, playful pup with plenty of enthusiasm for life. I'm a treat-loving guy who enjoys learning new things, showing off my skills, and staying busy with toys, games, and activities. I'm a bright boy who responds well to guidance and positive reinforcement. I enjoy playing with toys and I love having something fun to focus on. I'm still learning that not every interaction needs to be at full speed, so a family willing to help me channel my energy and continue building my confidence will help me be my best self. If you're looking for an active, silly, affectionate companion who will keep you entertained and bring lots of fun into your life, Bentley might just be your perfect match!*Qualifies for Pets for Patriots programPlease email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions. Hi, I'm Sparta! I'm a handsome 1-year-old, 62-pound pup with a big personality and plenty of energy! I'm playful, affectionate, and love spending time with my people. I'm still young and learning my manners, so I'll need a family who can continue guiding me with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. I enjoy playing with other dogs and have a fun, energetic play style, so I'll do best with a family who can help me learn when it's time to play and when it's time to settle. If you're looking for a silly, active companion who's ready to learn and make lots of memories, I could be your guy!*Qualifies for Pets for Patriots programPlease email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 62 Age: 1yrs 3mths 2wks

Story
Meet Chai! ☕ This adorable 7–9-month-old, 40-pound Australian Cattle Dog/Pointer mix is equal parts goofy, energetic, and professional belly-rub enthusiast.Chai can be a little shy with new people and needs time and patience to feel comfortable, but once she trusts you, her sweet personality comes shining through. She loves toys, chewing, tug-of-war, and hanging out on the couch—especially if belly rubs are involved. She’s also very treat-motivated and knows “sit,” making her a fun pup to train.Chai is house- and crate-trained, rides well in the car, and generally has good manners, although she may occasionally counter-surf or steal a piece of dirty laundry. She’s still working on her leash skills and is currently pretty nervous about leashes, so her adopter will need to patiently help her build confidence. She gets along great with other dogs and would love a confident, playful canine sibling to show her the ropes. She can get a little excited around cats and may chase them, so dog-savvy cats would be best. Because Chai can be mouthy and likes to jump when excited, she’d do best with older children. And then there’s Chai’s special talent: sirens are her cue to join the choir. She happily howls along like she’s answering a very important call from the neighborhood pack. She also has a hilarious habit of stealing tennis balls right out of other dogs’ mouths.Chai would thrive in a home with a fenced yard, a confident dog sibling, and people who understand that shy dogs need time to find their confidence. She’s a high-energy puppy who is ready for walks, training, playtime, and plenty of couch cuddles afterward. If you’re looking for a goofy, sweet girl with a big personality and an even bigger howl, Chai might just be your cup of tea. ❤️Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. Story
Bridle is a ball of energy so she is searching for a home that understands working dogs.  Brindle is happy to run full blast next to your ATV and really needs a good run daily.  She will do best in a home that has large acreage or is very active and can take her out frequently.   With her energy level, we would suggest a home without children or with older dog-savvy children. The prior family reported that she is house trained.  We have noticed that she will shred her dog beds if she is not given something else to do.  Brindle walks on a leash and has pretty good recall off leash.  She does get distracted by other things that look more fun that what you are doing, so more training will be needed. Brindle is okay with other dogs when introduced properly.  She does best with male dogs that are submissive.  She does not do well with female dogs.  She will likely chase cats as she is a working dog, but she doesn't show a desire to harm any other animals, just wants to chase them.   While she can be a handful, Brindle is also a sweet dog that wants attention once she has used up her pent up energy. If you love the working dogs and are looking for a ball of energy, Brindle is your gal.  She is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped.  If you would like to meet Brindle, contact us today.
