Story
When I started looking into getting a dog for my child, I never thought I’d end up with the one nobody else wanted. He came from a rejected litter, and somehow, he found his way to us. From the start, I could tell he was different. Not calm or quiet, but full of this crazy, hyper energy that just wouldn’t quit. And honestly? That’s what makes him who he is. He’s wild, yes, but he’s also the sweetest dog I’ve ever known. He loves people—anyone, anywhere. When he gets the attention he craves, he settles right in and shows off how good and well-behaved he can be. He has his favorites in life: long walks where every sound and smell is an adventure, a pile of toys he’ll dig through to find “the one” for a good game of tug, belly rubs that make him melt, and a warm bath at the end of the day. Dog parks visits are the best outing. Life has gotten crazy. My child felt it was more important for him to be happy and get the attention he used to. I only have a fee to make sure people are serious

Story
Hi, I'm Blizzard!A cool name for a very cool companion! I'm a smart, 6-year-old guy who knows my basic commands, walks well on a leash, and loves staying active and athletic, especially when I have a job to do. I'm a big fan of toys and treats, and they're great motivation for showing off how clever I am. I appreciate a gentle touch, and once we're together, my affectionate and confident side really shines, making me a loyal, fun-loving partner ready to take on every season by your side.*Qualifies for Pets for Patriots program*Qualifies for Senior to Senior programPlease email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 29 Age: 6yrs 0mths 3wks

Story
I adopted Whiskey in Atlanta, GA in October 2023. I lived there with him until June 2025. Whiskey is a very loyal and cuddly dog. He does well with people he knows, in a calm environment. He requires slow and calm introductions to new people and animals. He did not interact well with my parents' dog at first, but now they run and play together! Whiskey loves to be with his person and to play tug. I am looking to rehome Whiskey because I am currently in Law School and have small nieces that I am around all the time. I do not have the time, capacity, or environment that Whiskey needs to be properly trained. While Whiskey is a genuinely good dog, he can be unpredictable when it comes to what might trigger his anxiety/reactivity. For this reason, he is too much to have around my young nieces. Whiskey would do best in in a home without children because he can be sensitive to grabbing/handling. He requires an owner that is experienced with dogs, specifically in recognizing cues.
