Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. You will not want green eggs and ham, you will want to pick Shazam I Am! I am a sweet, playful 1.5 year old male border bollie mix. I would love to join your family. If you choose me I will love here and there, I will love you anywhere. My name is Shazam I Am - and I am a real catch of a dog! I love to play with toys and people but sometimes get a little too excited, so just tell me no and hand me a toy. I would be better in a family with older children because I haven’t been around small children a whole lot, and I'm a herder! I play well with other dogs and would love to have a friend in my forever home. I am crate trained and sleep all night in my crate, but sometimes I don’t want to go in. I know how to sit. I am potty trained and like to go on walks. I like riding in the car and am excited to try lots of different activities. I am a bit nervous at first but give me a day and we will be best buddies. I promise to try my best to be the best Shazam I Am. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Oh my gosh! Hi!!! I’m Happy Jack and I’m so excited to meet you. I’m about 3-years-old, a Border Collie mix, I have gorgeous grey spots and the softest, most pet-able fur (boy do I ever love to be pet). I weigh about 50 pounds, and I’m fully grown, I walk pretty well on the leash and LOVE going for walks. I know sit and down, and I’m working on stay and shake. I’ll do almost anything for a treat so training has been going well. I respond very well to a stern no, as I’m still learning all the rules of being a house dog. I sleep all night silently in my crate, and go in easily during the day, but I’m not destructive so I can be left unattended from time to time. I’m also a pretty quiet guy and I don’t bark very often. My foster mom says I’m the happiest and sweetest foster pup she’s had yet. I love running in the yard, playing fetch, laying in the sun, getting love and attention, and giving love to my temporary humans. I get along very well with other dogs and would do great in a home with another playful dog. I LOVE people and the big kids I’ve been around, I haven’t been around small kids, but my foster family thinks I would do well with them. I am not sure about cats, because as far as anyone knows I haven’t met one, but I would be willing to do a meeting if a potential new family has a cat. All I’m really looking for in a family is the chance to be loved. I don’t need a lot of exercise to be happy, but I do like getting out, I am pretty far along on my “domesticated” dog training, but could use some continued training, just like all dogs. If you think I could be what your family is looking for, apply to meet me at  https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 2, 2023, 3:30 pm

I’m moving and sadly can’t take ellie with me. I also just had a baby and so she hasn’t been getting the attention she deserves for a while. She’s very sweet and loves to play. Her favorite is fetch, she could play that for hours. She’s high energy so she would love a home with a yard and someone who could give her the attention and time that she craves. She’s very sweet with my baby and other dogs. Text me for any questions! (xxx) xxx-xxxx

Story
Hi! Stella is my name and playing is my game! I am a ~1 yr old border collie x German shepherd mix and I am a ball of energy! Four hour hike? No problem. Ten mile trail run? Bring it on! I'm a super social girl who loves to play with other dogs (cats are also really fun to chase, so probably best that I go to a home without them). I'm not big on snuggling; but, once I have my exercise fix for the day I will settle down nicely next to you on the floor. My ideal home would be one that has a big fenced back yard and some active adults (no kids for me please) who want to take me on all of their outdoor adventures. I am learning to like my crate and not to pull so much on a leash. I am house-broken, spayed and up-to-date on my vaccinations. Story
Hi! My name is Nellie and I am a 1 yr old border collie x Aussie mix. I was picked up as a stray and taken to a local shelter. The shelter was loud and chaotic and it made me very nervous. Luckily Herding Haven "sprung" me and I am now in a foster home where I am learning that the world is not such a scary place. I am a little shy and nervous around people I don't know; but I warm up with patience, kindness (and yummy treats). Once I trust you I will be your most faithful and loyal friend (and the best snuggle bug you ever had). I love playing with other dogs; a home with another young dog to help show me the ropes is a must. I am not a fan of cats, so my furever home must be feline free. Kids make me nervous, so I need a home without small/young children (dog savvy teens/young adults over 16 yr would be ok). I am crate-trained, house-broken and learning not to pull on the leash. I am spayed and up-to-date on my vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting me, please contact kathie@herdinghaven.org

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi new friends! My name is Nomi and I'm a one year old heeler mix weighing in at 35 lbs. My foster mom isn't sure what I'm mixed with, but she says whatever it is, I'm pretty cute.    I've learned that I really love the indoor life! I'm crate trained and house trained. I even know how to use the doggy door!    My favorite activities include walks around the neighborhood, chewing my bones, zoomies, naps in my dog bed, and scratches. I've also recently started playing tug with my ropes and I love to show off how strong I am!    I've learned that humans can be pretty nice and I love spending time with them, but it does take me a couple of minutes to warm up. My foster parents will show my new family how to earn my trust. People that are willing to take it nice and slow and give me treats are my favorite! I also thrive with some structure in my life!    I don't love ALL doggie friends, but I definitely like some of them. We'd need to meet up and make sure we're going to get along. I'd definitely prefer a male buddy though! I'd also be perfectly content as an only dog.    I do like to herd so my foster mom says that I'd do best in a home without cats and with kids 12+.    I've started training with my foster family and am very food motivated. My foster mom says that I'll need to continue with training to keep building my confidence and be the happiest girl I can be!    If you think you could be my forever family and give me all of the love in the world, please apply to meet me today at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 2, 2023, 3:30 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Oh my gosh hi! Are you here to see me???  My Name is Smoochie, and boy am I just so excited to meet you!!  I’m a 2 year old male stump tailed cattle dog mix. I weigh about 34 lbs, full grown! I am a bit of an attention hog.  All I wanna do is be near you. I’d hug you all day if I could! I  love to snuggle and comfort you when you’re not feeling well.   I love all of the humans I meet, but new dogs can be a little scary for me, especially male dogs… but after a pack walk, I warm up pretty easily with submissive females and   smaller dogs who I can tell don’t want to hurt me. My foster sister and I get along really well, we love to wrestle and play tug of war.    I have the sweetest smile and very persuasive puppy dog eyes. When you get home I do the cutest little happy dance, and I just can’t control my little tail nubbin! I am very treat motivated and have learned sit, stay, lay down, high five and up! I am potty trained and crate trained, but my fosters haven’t felt the need to crate me while they’re away. We are working on my manners, but I learn pretty quickly.    I am a pretty chill dog and would be fine with a family who just wants to take me on some shorter walks but I do like long ones too. My foster mom has been taking me on some leashed walks where there are other dogs to work on my socialization.  I would love to continue this training! I haven’t met any kids yet, but I’m sure I would be great with them. I do paw for attention sometimes, so children over eight would probably be best. I have no doubt that once you meet me, you will fall in love! So what do you think, can I be your forever Smoochie???  Apply to meet me today at  https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 2, 2023, 3:30 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hey there! I’m Vegemite, I’m about 1 1/2 years old, and I’m a Miniature Australian Shepherd. Before you continue reading about me, I have to get one thing clear: I have very specific needs and I am *NOT* a dog for inexperienced dog owners. I’ve come a long way, so my foster mom will only adopt me out to someone who will continue to put in the work to make me the best boy in the world. I’m not a terrible dog, in fact, my foster mom thinks I’m a great boy. She’s always calling me a little lover. But it’s extremely important I go to a home with someone who knows how to handle a dog like me and is prepared to do so.  Meeting new people really scares me. Seriously— I’ll put on a whole show out of fear and don’t like new people getting too close to the people I know and trust. I’ve gotten a LOT better with it, but it‘s work I need to continue.  I can be neutral around other dogs with very close supervision, but my foster mom would feel more comfortable with me going to a home with no other dogs. I don’t like other dogs near my crate, I don’t like other dogs near my food, and sometimes I don’t like other dogs near my people. Short, supervised time with other dogs is okay, but it’s safer overall for me to be an only dog. I’m working on it, and am slowly being able to spend more time around my foster brothers. I am cat friendly with dog-savvy cats though! So hey, I’ve got that going for me at least!  I know, I’m making myself sound horrible. I swear I’m not actually as awful as I sound… I just have low confidence. So really, what I’m trying to get at, is I need someone that is 110% committed to continue the work of building my confidence. My foster mom has been doing that by teaching me new things, doing some desensitization training, and providing me strong boundaries and strict rules. After all, that’s what all dogs thrive on, right? Now that I’ve got all that out of the way, if you’re still reading this and still interested in me, we can get to the good parts.  Like I mentioned, I’m good with dog-savvy cats, and I LOVE kids!!! I bond quickly, and once I realize you’re a safe person, I just want to be your very best friend. I love to cuddle and give you all the kisses!  I’m potty trained, I don’t mark in the house, and I’m crate trained! A crate is necessary for me, not optional. While I’m not destructive, it’s needed in my training so I have a safe space all to myself, especially when new people come over.  I know sit, down, sit pretty, and place. I can even jump into your arms for you to catch me! I am very eager to learn and training is such a great way for us to bond too!  I get the zoomies and I love to play with toys. Kongs and a good chew are really enjoyable too. I enjoy walks and I’d be an awesome hiking partner. Mental stimulation and physical activity are equally important to me! I know I sound like a dog who will be a lot of work, but I’m ready to find my forever person who can give me what I need. If that’s you, apply to meet me today at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 2, 2023, 3:30 pm
