When I started looking into getting a dog for my child, I never thought I’d end up with the one nobody else wanted. He came from a rejected litter, and somehow, he found his way to us. From the start, I could tell he was different. Not calm or quiet, but full of this crazy, hyper energy that just wouldn’t quit. And honestly? That’s what makes him who he is. He’s wild, yes, but he’s also the sweetest dog I’ve ever known. He loves people—anyone, anywhere. When he gets the attention he craves, he settles right in and shows off how good and well-behaved he can be. He has his favorites in life: long walks where every sound and smell is an adventure, a pile of toys he’ll dig through to find “the one” for a good game of tug, belly rubs that make him melt, and a warm bath at the end of the day. Dog parks visits are the best outing. Life has gotten crazy. My child felt it was more important for him to be happy and get the attention he used to. I’m playful, active, and always up for an adventure — I just won’t be your long-distance running partner. But for walks, short hikes, games, and exploring? I’m your guy! Here’s a little more about me: I LOVE kids — seriously, they’re some of my favorite humans. I greet everyone politely because I’m a total gentleman. I was a hit at PetSmart! Everyone there fell in love with me — I soaked up all the attention and made lots of new fans. My recall is awesome, and I like to stay close to my people because being near my humans is where I’m happiest. Foster mom calls me her shadow because I follow her around wherever she goes. I enjoy gentle dogs, and I’m curious but respectful around cats, so I can live with dog-savvy kitties. I’m house trained when kept on a good schedule. I sleep quietly in my crate all night, dreaming of treats and head scratches. I’ve got a fabulous, silky coat, so I’ll need regular brushing or trips to the groomer to keep me looking my best. I am a 6 month old 24 lb border collie, estimated to weigh about 47 lbs full grown. I am house trained, crate trained and I’m doing so well with potty training, I’m almost there! I’ve been told I’m the goodest boy. I play very well with other dogs and I love people, big and small. I’m very friendly, I want everyone to be my friend! I love to run and play with my fur siblings but I am always down for a snuggle session on the couch. I love my humans and I love to give them hugs! I am very treat motivated and I’m so smart, learning commands and tricks quickly. I would love a home with a yard to play in or frequent walks to get my puppy energy out.
