Pickles loves to be a shadow, enjoying simply being in someone's presence. She does really well at keeping things clean and would love for her new friend to enjoy walks or spending quiet time together. "Pickles walked up to USU campus with me. Hi, I'm Sparta! I'm a handsome 1-year-old, 62-pound pup with a big personality and plenty of energy! I'm playful, affectionate, and love spending time with my people. I'm still young and learning my manners, so I'll need a family who can continue guiding me with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. I enjoy playing with other dogs and have a fun, energetic play style, so I'll do best with a family who can help me learn when it's time to play and when it's time to settle. If you're looking for a silly, active companion who's ready to learn and make lots of memories, I could be your guy!*Qualifies for Pets for Patriots programPlease email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 62 Age: 1yrs 3mths 3wks

Story
🐾 Meet Daisy — Our Sweet Senior Girl! 🐾 Daisy is a senior sweetheart with plenty of spunk left in her! Don’t let her age fool you—this girl is energetic, playful, and affectionately described as a bit of a bulldozer. 😂 She loves hard, plays hard, and wants nothing more than to be close to her people. Daisy has separation anxiety, so she would thrive in a home where she won’t be left alone for long periods. She’s incredibly loving and would happily be your constant companion. A few things about our girl: * 🐱 No cats or small animals — Daisy has a very high prey drive. * 🐕 She would do best with a larger dog who can handle her rough-and-tumble play style. * 💨 She may be a senior, but she’s still energetic! * 🧠 Knows some basic obedience commands. * ❤️ She can be reactive when her facial space is invaded and needs a home that will respect her boundaries. * 🥰 Most importantly, Daisy is extremely sweet, affectionate, and loving. Daisy may have some gray hairs, but she certainly hasn’t gotten the memo that she’s supposed to slow down. 😂 She just needs someone who will understand her quirks, give her the companionship she craves, and let her spend her golden years being ridiculously loved. Daisy deserves a soft place to land and a person to call her own. 🐾🤍

Story
Meet Gus Gus is an under-one-year-old Collie, Shepherd & Chihuahua mix who is equal parts cuddle bug, couch potato, and adventure buddy! He can be a little shy at first, especially around big or tall people, but give him some patience, kindness, and a little cheese, and you’ll quickly see his sweet personality shine. Once he trusts you, Gus is an affectionate little “Velcro dog” who loves curling up in your lap, getting belly rubs, falling asleep in your arms, and being by your side.Gus also has an adventurous streak! He loves running, exploring, visiting the dog park, playing with other dogs, and discovering new things. He’s just as happy relaxing on the couch as he is heading out for an adventure—and he absolutely loves when you talk to him.Gus gets along well with other dogs and isn’t territorial or food-aggressive. He knows “sit” and is continuing to work on his leash and crate skills. He’s making great progress and learning that his leash and crate are safe, positive things. And if you’re wondering about his favorite snack, the answer is easy: cheese! Gus is looking for a person who wants a loyal best friend to share everyday life, adventures, and plenty of cuddles. He may be young, but he already knows that the best place to be is right by his person’s side. ❤️Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. Story
Meet Chai! ☕ This adorable 7–9-month-old, 40-pound Australian Cattle Dog/Pointer mix is equal parts goofy, energetic, and professional belly-rub enthusiast.Chai can be a little shy with new people and needs time and patience to feel comfortable, but once she trusts you, her sweet personality comes shining through. She loves toys, chewing, tug-of-war, and hanging out on the couch—especially if belly rubs are involved. She’s also very treat-motivated and knows “sit,” making her a fun pup to train.Chai is house- and crate-trained, rides well in the car, and generally has good manners, although she may occasionally counter-surf or steal a piece of dirty laundry. She’s still working on her leash skills and is currently pretty nervous about leashes, so her adopter will need to patiently help her build confidence. She gets along great with other dogs and would love a confident, playful canine sibling to show her the ropes. She can get a little excited around cats and may chase them, so dog-savvy cats would be best. Because Chai can be mouthy and likes to jump when excited, she’d do best with older children. And then there’s Chai’s special talent: sirens are her cue to join the choir. She happily howls along like she’s answering a very important call from the neighborhood pack. She also has a hilarious habit of stealing tennis balls right out of other dogs’ mouths.Chai would thrive in a home with a fenced yard, a confident dog sibling, and people who understand that shy dogs need time to find their confidence. She’s a high-energy puppy who is ready for walks, training, playtime, and plenty of couch cuddles afterward. If you’re looking for a goofy, sweet girl with a big personality and an even bigger howl, Chai might just be your cup of tea. ❤️Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
