Whiskey was born July 15, 2023. He came into rescue at 8 weeks old when the owner couldn’t find him a home. His mother is boxer and father Black and Tan hound. (Pictures of parents attached.) He is a sweet playful pup that has done great with small and large dogs. He is crate trained and doing very well with his house training. He loves toys and sticks to chew on. Hi I’m Arnold and I’m living with my foster mom and my two brothers Abner and Arthur. We were rescued from a shelter in SW Virginia on Saturday 1/25/2025. Shelter life isn’t easy and didn’t teach us good manners but we have come a long way in just 24 hours. We hadn’t ever used stairs but we had to learn to use them to go potty outside. Our foster mom carried us a few times but finally I got brave and got up the courage! I did great and my brothers were so surprised at how easy it looked that they got brave too! Our foster mom has to go downstairs first and then we get brave and hurry to meet her. Now we want to go outside and up and down the stairs all the time and are doing really great with accidents in the house. We will keep working on that. I would just like to stretch out and sleep on a soft bed and I’m doing lots of that. My foster mom says I have the sweetest demeanor, I’m confident and calm which helps us all to stay calm. We didn’t get lots of kisses, pets and snuggles in the shelter so we are making up for lost time. We are still trying to get settled in and all we want to do right now is to rest, snuggle and relax on the soft couch. Our foster mom will get better pictures and update our profiles soon. She tells us that our forever home is out there waiting for us and we can’t wait to meet you. We are about 13 weeks old and ready to be adopted on Saturday Feb 8 when we have our final shots. Meet Ava! She is a 7-year-old, 53-pound, boxer-hound (best guess) mix with a sweet soul and a loving heart. She’s the perfect mix of playful and laid-back—will happily go for a walk or run in the yard but is just as happy to lounge in her bed or by your side. Ava is wonderful on leash, house-trained, and crate-trained, and she already knows sit, stay, down, and paw. She adores all people and will happily seek out affection, soaking up all the pets and belly rubs you have to offer. Ava is happy with simple pleasures. She would thrive as the only dog, where she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves. She doesn't require constant entertainment or elaborate routines. She’s happy to join you for an adventure or find a cozy spot to nap (usually her crate). Plenty of snuggles and pets (and treats!) are all it takes to make her tail wag.
