Story
Stella is looking for their forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Stella is one of the most low maintenance fosters I've ever had the pleasure of helping find a forever home. From being a shy, scared, and timid girl to being confident, secure, and well-mannered, Stella has grown so much in the 2+ years I've known her; although the vacuum cleaner is still enemy #1. Stella has lived in all types of settings: in a busy city, in an apartment, on a quiet street, with dogs, with reactive dogs, and easily adapted to her home environment. She is crate trained and LOVES having a bed in her crate to curl up into a donut while you're at work. She knows every basic command like sit, down, touch, stay and is fully potty trained. Stella's favorite toy is a lambie, or something else that is tiny that she can carry around in her mouth. Once, she took care of an egg for 6 hours before it broke, she's the most gentle creature. Stella is made of love and French fries. There's nothing more that she wants than to be inside with her people, cuddled up on the couch with a show, or playing sous chef in a calm kitchen. She takes awhile to warm up to her people, but with some french fires (her favorite is Burger King), some space, and a bit of patience, she'll love you unconditionally and will likely knock you over from wagging her tail and wiggling so hard with excitement every time she sees you. Although Stella is a perfect girl in the home, on leash, and with other dogs, she is scared of human strangers, especially masculine presenting people, and will need a strong advocate to help keep her safe. If you're looking for a great addition to your calm and cozy life with unconditional love to give, Stella is the gal for you. Stella would do best living with queer folks, a home without cis-gendered men, without cats, and without small children. ATTRIBUTES: Stella has lived in foster with other dogs, but can not go to a home with kids, cats, or cis-gendered men. -------------- Laila's Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained. Story
Jordon is looking for their forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Meet Jordon, a 50-pound adult dog whose hobbies include playtime, snuggles, and making new canine or people friends. His idea of a perfect day is playing and running around the yard with his foster siblings or you. If he could be in your skin with you, he would. For now, though, he'll settle for a good couch cuddle. His love language is physical touch, aka you picking up and holding all 50 pounds of him. He can be a bit clumsy at times, but that's simply part of his charm. Like the rest of us, Jordan can suffer from a bit of FOMO when he knows his favorite people are in the home, but he's in his crate. When you're away, however, he does much better in the crate, especially if it's sweetened with a bully stick or kong. Jordon would do best with someone who could work with him on his separation anxiety. Jordon does well with other dogs or, in his eyes, other friends. He can sometimes be forgetful of his size and come on strongly, but all he wants to do is play and make friends. He even grew up with three brothers. He can be hesitant at first with people, but he warms up quickly and just wants to cuddle and/or play. Because of his size and lack of awareness of such, he would do best in a home with bigger children. If you want a constant cuddle bug or a friend to all, apply for Jordon today! -------------- Laila's Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained. Story
Good with: Dogs, kids Not tested with: Cats House trained: Yes Energy level: Medium Noise level: Some, when someone is at the door Hi, I'm Ripley! I was once a victim of neglect, but now I'm looking for a loving home where I can blossom. I'm a sweet, gentle girl who needs a confident doggy friend and a kind, patient human to help me come out of my shell and show me how wonderful life can be. I may be a little scared and shy at first, but I promise I'm worth the effort to get to know. When I feel safe and confident, I love freely, craving head scratches, playing with stuffed toys, and having zoomies in the backyard. I'm curious about neighborhood cats but don't have a strong prey drive. I'm good at taking cues from other dogs, but I'm still learning human cues like shaking paws. My favorite thing about myself is how gentle and loving I ama total sweetheart! I have a medium energy level, and I'm both gentle and friendly. I can be playful, fearful, and shy. I enjoy short walks and zoomies, but I'm terrified of fireworks and car rides. Despite this, I love going on walks and being with my favorite humans. I'm still working on my training and don't know basic commands yet, but I'm housetrained and somewhat crate trained. On walks, I'm well-mannered, get along with other dogs, and handle distractions like bikes and skateboards pretty well. I bark when someone is at the door, and I need a quiet environment because I get nervous around new people. I need time to come out of my shell, but once I trust someone, I like them very much. I get along with all kids and dogs and am interested in cats, though I haven't had close contact with them. My daily routine includes morning and evening walks, and I have access to a yard, but I prefer staying indoors with the air conditioning when it's hot. I eat Fromm adult food, 1.5 cups in the morning and evening. I don't shed much and don't need grooming. I'd do well in an apartment, would be great for a first-time dog owner, and would love someone who works from home or is home often. I can't wait to find my forever home and share all my love! My foster guardian says: Ripley is gentle and loving - total sweetheart. Likes: Short walks, zoomies Dislikes: Fireworks, riding in the car My ideal home: Id prefer to have an owner who is home often, but Id be good in an apartment and for a first time dog owner. Story
Good with: Dogs Not tested with: Cats, kids House trained: Yes Energy level: Medium Noise level: Some Hey there I'm Gabby the bubbly mixed-breed pup with a hop in my step and a heart of gold! With my soft speckled white and tan fur and soulful yellow/brown eyes I'm quite the charmer. Despite a shoulder injury in my past I've mastered a unique hop-like gait that sets me apart. When it comes to manners I've got them down pat - no accidents in the house and I prefer to savor my meals rather than scarf them down. Now let's talk about my absolute favorite thing: morning walks! There's nothing that gets me more excited than exploring the world outside. Walks dont have to be limited in time or distance as far as my foster mom can tell: I have the same energy and enthusiasm as any other dog. I'm friendly with other dogs but I can be a bit standoffish. I prefer smaller playgroups and may get overwhelmed in crowded dog parks. Despite my injury I'm quite the active pup! I love playing with toys and you might catch me zooming around the yard with one in my mouth. I particularly love prey toys and bully sticks! I also love a good game of fetch and will always bring the toy/ball back to you. I might even surprise you with how high I can jump! I can hop up and ride in the car just fine and love going on adventures. I even recently mastered going up and down a full flight of stairs! When it comes to affection I'm all in! I absolutely adore cuddles and scratches: but I never beg for them just gladly accept them. I'll also keep you company while you work from home while I lounge on the couch. Separation anxiety? Well I might whine a bit when you leave in the crate but with a distraction like a tasty treat I'll be just fine and quiet down quickly. Oh and there's one thing I'm not too fond of: bikes. They make me bark and lunge but cars and trucks? No problem at all! I'm great at "sit" "come" and "wait", but could use some training on walking on a leash. I am overly interested in squirrels and other small animals and my gate makes it harder for me to regulate my speed so as a result I pull a little bit, but with some time and training I can be a leash walking pro! So if you're looking for a well-mannered affectionate companion who's always up for an adventure look no further than yours truly Gabby. I can't wait to hop into your heart and home! My foster guardian says: Gabby is the absolute sweetest pup and is the perfect mix of active outside but calm and affectionate inside. Despite the injury her bunny-like gate makes her the star of the show on walks and at the dog park: people think its absolutely adorable and Id have to agree. If youre looking for a sweet little mix breed look no further than Gabby! Likes: Toys, bones, scratches, sunbathing, morning walks, lounging on the couch Dislikes: Bikes, lots of dogs at once My ideal home: I am pretty flexible and would be happy in a variety of homes! Story
We are sad to have to say goodbye to our sweet Margo. She is a shy girl at first, but once she opens up she will lick you until you cant take it anymore :) Margo was born 12/10/23. We got her as a puppy and have loved our time with her. We are a large family, with five children and Margo LOVES our children. She is patient and playful. We thought we could be a two dog family, but the past several months have shown us we are not. We do not have enough space for a larger dog. Margo does well with other dogs, given a proper introduction. (We have a Pomeranian) She is still a puppy, so she does need supervision and needs to be let out to go potty at least every 3 hours. She is up to date on vaccines. Vaccine record will be provided along with her kennel, bed and a few other items. We want to find a loving family who can give her the best life with space to play! She knows basic commands- Sit, Shake, Come, etc. Feel free to ask any questions you may have!
