Story
Ace is a Husky/Boxer mix, he’s a little older than 1.5 years. He is a loving, goofy, intelligent, and very energetic boy with a huge personality. He loves walks and runs, chasing tennis balls, playing tug-of-war, getting treats, and playing with other dogs. He knows basic commands including sit, wait, place, and down, and we have been working on his recall.Ace is a high-energy dog who needs lots of exercise, attention, mental stimulation, and continued training. He also takes daily fluoxetine for separation anxiety and is crate trained, although he does not sleep in his crate. He can be cautious around new people at first but warms up once he has a chance to get comfortable. He has done well around children and other dogs and can live with cats, although he sometimes wants to play with them and needs reminders to respect their boundaries. We are looking for a loving, active home that has the time and ability to give Ace exercise, structure, and attention.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Ruby is a loving, happy-go-lucky girl who enjoys being with her people and soaking up belly rubs. She has a playful spirit, likes going on walks, and is always ready for an adventure. She is curious, affectionate, and enjoys being part of whatever is going on around her. Ruby has done well with other dogs and has not shown aggression toward them. She can get excited when greeting new people and may jump up to say hello, but she responds well to kindness and consistency. She has barked at cats, so we are unsure if she would do well in a home with them. Ruby would thrive with a family that will give her plenty of love, patience, and daily activity. She has a wonderful personality and is ready to become a loyal companion. Ruby is around 2 years old and weighs about 45lbs. Story
Hubbell is a wonderful dog. He's 6.5 and about as chill as can be. I had him for about 2 days before my landlord informed me she is selling our house, and we have had to make the unfortunate decision to re-home him. I didn't want him back at the shelter so we still have him, but we are also still getting to know him! Hubbell loves everyone he meets. He really just wants to snuggle. He's gentle taking treats and has been good around small children so far. He does okay on a leash, and would improve with a little training. Currently, his walks are short as he is being treated for heartworm. He has about 3 months left of his monthly treatment, and I have meds to send with him. He also does well in his kennel and I have a kennel, a bed, a leash and harness to donate, as well as any food or treats I have left. We haven't tested him with other dogs. The shelter said he was shy in play groups, and on walks he seems to want to play. Unsure of cats.

These pups are in Liberty, Missouri too!

Story
Clyde has survived the unimaginable. During the artic temperatures he was on a chain with minimal shelter and no regular feedings. He survived...others did not. Clyde has some MAJOR food issues. He was deprived for so long with such sporadic feedings that it will take him quite awhile to realize he will not be hungry anymore. The investigative team with the Missouri Humane Society helped with this situation and they took several of the adult dogs. We had committed to 2. Clyde was one of the ones we were given. He was having a very difficult time gaining weight at the humane society. This isn't uncommon...a dog that doesn't handle being caged well will sometimes spin/react poorly and be unable to hold their weight and gaining weight would be really difficult. We are also a facility based rescue...so we are unsure if he'll gain weight or not, but we will try...and try to find him a home/foster home too! Clyde is heartworm positive and that treatment will start as soon as he settles into our routine here. We've only had him a few days so far. Follow us on Facebook to keep updated on him! Search for Autumn Acres Animal Rescue. At Autumn Acres Animal Rescue we believe each individual animal matters. We take in special cases some of which will stay with us as a sanctuary dog.If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect Dog this means they have special needs and special requirements for potential adopters. If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect RESIDENT this animal is NOT available for adoption and is one of our sanctuary residents. We list them on our sites because they still matter and they still need donations to help with their long term care.Check out our website for more information: http://www.autumnacres.org
