She is anxious when meeting new people. It takes some time and patience for her to warm up to someone. Gnome loves belly rubs, playing with her sister and our dog in the backyard and chew toys. Like a typical puppy, she likes to dig in the backyard and will chew on anything she finds, i.e., slippers. Gnome is learning to walk on a leash but can be easily distracted. She is house broken and is learning her basic commands. She would do well in a home with another dog. She has had limited exposure to cats but those interactions were successful. Gnome is currently being fostered with her sibling Patti. They have been together since birth and are extremely close. We feel it would be a plus if this bonded pair were adopted together into their forever home. But this is absolutely not needed! Hi! My name’s Houston. I'm a four-year-old boxer mix boy and kind of a beefcake at around 80 pounds. (I'd argue that it's all muscle, too.) One of the things I want most in a forever home is a human friend to hang out with, not doing anything in particular, just a couple pals spending time together. Wouldn't that be amazing? I'm a little shy at first, but if you'll give me a few minutes to get to know you, we'll be besties. And I promise to be your snuggle pup! Really, though, I’m way too smart to laze around 24/7. I know sit, down, stay, high five, orbit, between, and wait. Learning tricks is one of my favorite activities and I can pick up new ones in just a day or two. I love to run outside and play in water from the hose. In case I wasn't clear enough on that, I LOVE PLAYING IN THE WATER!!!. My favorite game of all is tug of war. (I'll even let you win sometimes!) I’m kennel trained, house trained, and am good at being left alone. In fact, I do some of my best snoozing in my crate while I wait patiently for you to come home. I’d do best in a home with older children because I’m still learning how to contain all my excitement around the little ones. Since I've been looking for a home for a while, I think I'd prefer to be the only doggo so I don't have to share. I’ve got so much love to share and I absolutely cannot wait to meet you! Clyde has survived the unimaginable. During the artic temperatures he was on a chain with minimal shelter and no regular feedings. He survived...others did not. Clyde has some MAJOR food issues. He was deprived for so long with such sporadic feedings that it will take him quite awhile to realize he will not be hungry anymore. The investigative team with the Missouri Humane Society helped with this situation and they took several of the adult dogs. We had committed to 2. Clyde was one of the ones we were given. He was having a very difficult time gaining weight at the humane society. This isn't uncommon...a dog that doesn't handle being caged well will sometimes spin/react poorly and be unable to hold their weight and gaining weight would be really difficult. We are also a facility based rescue...so we are unsure if he'll gain weight or not, but we will try...and try to find him a home/foster home too! Clyde is heartworm positive and that treatment will start as soon as he settles into our routine here. We've only had him a few days so far. Follow us on Facebook to keep updated on him!
