Lily is the sweetest girl! She loves, loves toys! Enjoys a good game of fetch and shredding stuffed toys! She’s an excellent snuggler and a very clean lady. She keeps her kennel extremely tidy. She is crate and house trained. She can be very shy in the beginning but food wins her heart! Good with some other dogs. Cats unknown.

Story
Meet Stewie My name is Stuart, but my friends call me Stewie. I'm a Pittie mix who is a little over 1 year old. I've been with my foster family for a few months now and am looking for a forever home of my own. My foster mom brought me to her home after meeting me because she felt really bad about the rough start I had to my life. You see, I was found by the Pet Resource Center of Kansas City's Outreach team in December. I'd been outside in the rain and cold over Christmas and I was skinny and scared. I wasn't sure if I could trust the humans who found me, but eventually I went along with them and was soon warm and safe and had food in my tummy. When my foster mom first brought me home with her, I was happy to find there were dogs in her home but I needed to make the male human in the home work for my trust, lol. He hand fed me 3 meals a day for a few days before I finally thought he was okay. I must keep some secrets to myself, but my foster parents quickly learned I wasn't treated very well by the humans who had me before. I don't want to tell them everything and make them sad, but they do know I was abused. I wasn't afraid of things in the house, but if someone made sudden movements I'd flinch. I'm doing a LOT better with that now thanks to all the love and patience from my foster family. It takes me some time to warm up to new humans, men mostly, but as soon as I know you're okay, I'm the bestest friend you could ever want! I give nice kisses, and will roll over for belly rubs. I do make my foster parents laugh a lot especially because of my "Super Top Secret Shoe Relocation Program". It's a mystery to everyone else except for me, but sometimes I think my foster parents' shoes or slippers need to be relocated to different areas of the house. I think it's super funny when they wake up in the morning and can't find their slippers! I also talk a LOT which sometimes frustrates me because my foster parents don't know what I'm trying to tell them. They think I should probably live in a house and not an apartment because I do talk so much. I like to go on walks, and I love learning new stuff. My foster mom has taught me how to sit, lay down, look at her, come here, and a few other things. I like it when she spends time with me teaching me stuff, and think I'd like a human who will continue doing things like that with me. I've put a lot of thought into this, and I think my ideal forever home will be one that's laid back but with humans who want to take me on walks every day. My BFF in my foster home is Soda Pop. We're pretty close in age and have lots of fun wrestling and playing and going on walks together. I don't need to live with another dog though because sometimes I just want to hang out and Soda just wants to play non-stop, which can be kinda annoying sometimes (but don't tell him I said that). If you're looking for a smart, handsome, affectionate guy who enjoys long walks and new adventures I'm your guy.

Story
Hi! My name’s Houston. I'm a four-year-old boxer mix boy and kind of a beefcake at around 80 pounds. (I'd argue that it's all muscle, too.) One of the things I want most in a forever home is a human friend to hang out with, not doing anything in particular, just a couple pals spending time together. Wouldn't that be amazing? I'm a little shy at first, but if you'll give me a few minutes to get to know you, we'll be besties. And I promise to be your snuggle pup! Really, though, I’m way too smart to laze around 24/7. I know sit, down, stay, high five, orbit, between, and wait. Learning tricks is one of my favorite activities and I can pick up new ones in just a day or two. I love to run outside and play in water from the hose. In case I wasn't clear enough on that, I LOVE PLAYING IN THE WATER!!! I’m kennel trained, house trained, and am good being left alone. In fact, I do some of my best snoozing in my crate while I wait patiently for you to come home. I’m getting better on the leash all the time. I’d do best in a home with older children, because I’m still learning how to contain all my excitement around the little ones. Since I've been looking for a home for a while, I think I'd prefer to be the only doggo so I don't have to share. I’ve got so much love to share and I absolutely cannot wait to meet you! You'll get to see my cute little nub of a tail wag and wag when I'm happy and that will make YOU happy, too! Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 to find out more about me! I'm in the Kansas City metro, but my human friends will transport me to the right home. #thepetconnection #BoxerMix #AdoptDontShop #RescueDog #DogsofKC #SmartPup #PlayfulPup #ForeverHomeNeeded #KCAdopt #DogLovers #pawsitivetailskc

Story
Hi there, I’m Fletch! I’m such a good boy. When you see me wiggle my butt in pure joy at the mere sight of you, you’ll know we were meant to be together. I’m smart and playful and goofy and so affectionate. I’m the perfect combination of energetic and fun mixed with cuddly and chill. And there is simply no place on earth I’d rather be than right by your side. My life hasn’t always been easy, but that just makes me more grateful for everything good that comes my way. I will make the best companion for you, if you just give me a chance. I am handsome, strong, and athletic, with beautiful brindle fur, the cutest floppy ears, and a charming, delightful personality. I’m even already fully housebroken and crate trained too. I’ve been through lots of instability and change in my life lately. I was feeling stressed and nervous at the big shelter where I was staying, before getting rescued by the kind people at The Pet Connection. They understood my insecurities and quickly found a loving foster home for me. My foster family makes me feel safe and cared for and so special. Ah, I can finally relax. Now all I need is for you to find me and welcome me into your family! Living in my foster home has been fantastic! I quickly and happily settled in with my new routine. I stay in my crate at night and when no one is home, and I do really well there, after a little initial crying. I’m very well behaved in the house, and I try my best not to cause any trouble at all. I’m highly trainable and I pick up on new things quickly, so please teach me. I’m currently working on controlling my excitement level when I play. It will help me if you stay calm and easygoing with me, instead of engaging me in rough play. I’m eager to make you happy, and I’m ready to learn and experience everything life has to offer. Once I know I’m home, you’ll find me to be a mostly quiet, affectionate friend who loves to curl up next to you on the couch for plenty of kisses and snuggles, or to keep myself entertained with my toys. I like everyone I meet, but sometimes I can be jumpy, so I’ll probably be happiest in a home without small kids. I wouldn’t want to accidentally knock anyone over. I’m an active fella, and I will need daily exercise to help me stay happy, healthy, and calm. I absolutely love going for walks and I do quite well on my leash. I keep my distance from other dogs on their walks, and that works just great for me. I’d love a fenced yard to run and play in! I really enjoy being outside, but I’ve been known to jump high and chase things, so I am a flight risk. Please keep a close eye on me whenever I’m outside, and make sure my fenced area is safe and secure. I’ll be happiest as your only dog. I want all your love and attention for myself! Still, I might do OK with other chill, tolerant dogs, given a proper introduction. Mostly, I’m just looking for a home with patient, kind, calm people who want to spend time with me, who will encourage and reassure me when I get nervous, and who will help me realize that I’m finally home. That’s all I’ve ever wanted. Please call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 if you can give me the forever home I've been looking for. I'm in the KC area, but my human friends say we can go for a ride in the car (yay!!) to my new home, even if it's not right here in Kansas City. #thepetconnection #fletch #happy #socute #adoptdontshop
