You're in my spot…if you know, you know. 😂🛋️ We can imagine that’s exactly what Huey would say to whoever sits in his spot on the couch. You want him to get up from his spot? Yeah, that ain’t happening. 😆 You’re welcome to sit next to him, though. Huey is a hunk of love. Just look at that big block head. He has zero concept of personal space–loves people and wants to be close to them at all times! This 5-year-old Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer mix, weighing about 55 pounds, is filled with love and affection for his people. ❤️ Huey is fully housetrained and sleeps all night quietly in his crate or in ‘his spot’ on the couch. Huey has the perfect amount of energy. He loves to play with his toys 🧸, run around the backyard 🌳, then crash. 💤 He knows sit, kennel, and off. When on a leash, he is a strong dude and wants to keep moving, which causes him to pull. Huey gets along with other dogs with a slow, proper introduction and supervision. When playing with doggie friends, he doesn’t always want to share his toys, so when toys are out, it’s important to be watchful. Other small animals or cats are probably not a good fit for Huey. This big meathead likes kids but gets a bit too happy around them, so older kiddos may be best for him. If you have errands to run, he’d love to go right along with you. 🚗 He promises you can listen to whatever music 🎶 or podcast you want as long as he can stick his nose out the window 🐽 and take in all the new smells. Mr. Huey would do best in a home with people who understand dog cues. He is a couch potato at heart 🛋️🥔, and if someone comes to the door, oh well, he’ll let you get the door. He’s certainly not a guard dog and couldn’t care less if somebody knocks. His foster tells us he’d do best as a solo pet. He thinks it’s fun to go on a walkabout 🐕, so a 6-foot fence is needed. Huey is such a sweet boy and wants love from his humans. If you have a spot on your couch for him, apply today. Approved adopters will be contacted to schedule a meet-and-greet. 🐾 He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $175. 🐕Apply to adopt at PawsitiveTailsKC.org🐕

🚀Houston: We Have a Beefcake! 🚀 Meet Houston—a 75+ pound, 4-year-old boxer mix with muscles, manners, and major charm. Just look at that profile. Behold his majestic water pose. This boy’s a beefcake in every sense of the word. But don’t let the brawn fool you—Houston’s got brains, too! He knows sit, down, stay, high five, and wait. Learning tricks is one of his favorite hobbies, right behind sprinting around the yard like a goofball and battling the garden hose like it personally offended him. His ultimate favorite? Tug of war. (He’ll even let you win sometimes, because Houston is generous and humble like that.) Houston’s ideal day? Just hanging out with his person, doing a whole lot of nothing together. He’s a little shy when meeting new people, but give him a few minutes and you’ll unlock his best feature: champion-level snuggles. He lives to sit in your lap—yes, all 75 pounds of him—and he’s happiest curled up next to his favorite human. This sweet boy is also housetrained and kennel trained. In fact, he does some of his finest napping in his crate while patiently waiting for you to come home. And when you do, whether it’s been five minutes or five hours, he’ll greet you with a wildly wagging nub of a tail and a full-body wiggle that will absolutely make your day. Houston’s looking for a quiet, kid-free home where he can be your one and only. He’d love a fenced yard where he can stretch those legs and practice his signature splash moves. Houston is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and current on heartworm preventative and flea/tick prevention. His adoption fee is $175. Meet Lovely! Lovely is a 7-week-old mixed breed puppy with a heart as sweet as her name. This adorable little girl got an early start in rescue after she and her littermates were being given away before they were old enough to be away from their mom. Thanks to the loving care of her foster family, Lovely has grown into a happy, healthy, chunky little puppy who is ready to find a family of her own. Like any puppy her age, Lovely is curious, playful, and always ready to explore. She enjoys chasing toys, romping around with her siblings, and then settling in for a well-earned nap. She loves people and is soaking up all the new sights, sounds, and experiences that will help her grow into a confident companion. Lovely is looking for a family that understands puppies need time, patience, and positive guidance as they learn house training, leash walking, and all the important life skills. In return, you'll get to watch her grow from a tiny bundle of puppy energy into a loyal best friend. If you're ready for puppy kisses, playful antics, and a lifetime of love, Lovely can't wait to meet you! All Heart of America Humane Society dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Adoption fee is $250. Story
Meet Freya Freya is an 6-month-old female Boxer/Pit mix puppy who is smart, playful, and full of potential. She does well with other dogs and would thrive in a home with older children who can respect puppy boundaries. Freya is very intelligent and eager to learn, and she’ll do best with an adopter ready to continue training. She would benefit from a secure yard with a tall, solid (non–chain link) fence so she can safely burn off energy and explore. Freya has already had bilateral cherry eye surgery and is doing well, with no special care needed beyond routine vet care. She’s a bright, loving pup ready to grow into an amazing companion with the right family. **Freya has poultry sensitivity and will need to be on a lamb, beef, or salmon based food*** If you are interested in meeting Freya, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Dog and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. Story
Hubbell is a wonderful dog. He's 6.5 and about as chill as can be. I had him for about 2 days before my landlord informed me she is selling our house, and we have had to make the unfortunate decision to re-home him. I didn't want him back at the shelter so we still have him, but we are also still getting to know him! Hubbell loves everyone he meets. He really just wants to snuggle. He's gentle taking treats and has been good around small children so far. He does okay on a leash, and would improve with a little training. Currently, his walks are short as he is being treated for heartworm. He has about 3 months left of his monthly treatment, and I have meds to send with him. He also does well in his kennel and I have a kennel, a bed, a leash and harness to donate, as well as any food or treats I have left. We haven't tested him with other dogs. The shelter said he was shy in play groups, and on walks he seems to want to play. Unsure of cats.

He's incredibly affectionate and is always ready to greet you with a goofy grin and plenty of kisses. Champ is intelligent, eager to please, and learns quickly with positive reinforcement. Story
Meet Diamond – A Shining Soul with a Heart of Gold Diamond is a stunning 5-year-old black Pit Bull/Lab mix whose story is as powerful as her name. When she was rescued, Diamond had endured severe neglect and abuse — she was skin and bones, missing patches of fur, and had lost faith in people. But with love, patience, and care, this beautiful girl has blossomed into a happy, playful companion with a dazzling smile and sleek black coat. Diamond is crate trained and has never had an accident indoors. She sleeps soundly through the night in a crate, but she’d much prefer to curl up in bed next to her person. Once she feels safe, her playful and goofy personality shines through — she loves walks, plays with toys, and has the most endearing zoomies. She’s also learning to enjoy human affection, and her foster mom has worked hard to help her learn that human touch can be kind. Diamond would do best as the only pet in an adult-only home. She is not cat-friendly and can be unpredictable with other dogs. Her ideal adopter will respect her need for slow introductions and structure. Because of her past, food is a valuable resource for Diamond and should be managed with care. Like many young dogs, she can still be a bit mouthy when excited, but she listens beautifully when told to calm down or redirects to a toy. Once Diamond trusts you, you’ll see just how special she is — her loyalty runs deep, and her goofy grin will melt your heart every day. She is proof that love and patience can heal old wounds, and she’s ready to find the person who will let her sparkle forever. Could you be the one to give Diamond her forever home and show her what unconditional love truly feels like? Diamond is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, which means you can take some time to get to know her in your home before finalizing the adoption. It’s a great way to ensure the perfect fit! ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet Lily — the definition of laid-back, loving, and completely devoted to her people Lily is a big, goofy bulldog mix with velvety-soft fur and an even softer heart. She’s one of those rare dogs who is equal parts chill companion and full-body-wiggle greeter — happy to lounge by your side but so excited to see you every single time you walk in the room. 💛 Lily’s Personality If you’re looking for a dog who truly loves people — Lily is your girl. She is incredibly social and forms deep bonds with her humans. Whether it’s her favorite volunteers, shelter staff, her furlough foster, or THE Melissa (Aunt Melissa) — Lily lights up when she sees “her people.” Her excitement is unmatched, and her love is constant. At home, she’s the easiest kind of companion: ✔ Potty trained ✔ Not destructive when left out (just don’t leave treats within reach 😉) ✔ Well-behaved and low-maintenance in the home ✔ Can do great if you work outside the home She’s laid-back, content to relax while you’re gone, and happiest just being near you when you’re home. She doesn’t ask for much — just love, consistency, and a spot by your side. Of course, she still has her fun side — she loves stuffed toys, will happily roll around like a goofball, and thinks a kiddie pool is the best invention ever. 🩺 Medical Needs Lily has allergies that are well-managed with: ✔ Routine allergy injections ✔ A specific diet for skin sensitivities These are important for keeping her comfortable and feeling her best, and her adopter will need to stay consistent with both. 🏡 Lily’s Ideal Home ✔ Dog and cat free home ✔ Someone looking for a loyal, people-focused companion ✔ Commitment to her medical needs and diet ✔ A home where she can be part of your everyday life ✨ Why You’ll Love Lily Lily is the kind of dog who doesn’t just live in your home — she becomes your person (and expects you to be hers). She is easy to care for, incredibly well-behaved, and endlessly loving. When she has her people and the right environment, she absolutely thrives — and watching her love her humans as hard as she does is something really special. She is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, so you can get to know her in your home and make sure it’s the perfect fit. ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet Dia (Diamond) 🤍 | 5-Year-Old Pit Bull Terrier Mix Dia is a beautiful, all-white girl with a big heart and a loyal spirit. After spending several years in a home with a family, she’s now looking for a fresh start where she can once again be a devoted companion. Dia has lived as an indoor dog and is crate trained, comfortable being left alone, and used to a home routine. She has also done very well with children and previously lived with kids as young as two years old, showing a gentle and patient side with her family. This sweet girl weighs 63 pounds and has overcome some medical challenges in the past, including surgery on both knees (similar to ACL repairs in people). Despite that, she’s continued to live a happy, active life and is ready to share her love with a new family. Dia came back to rescue after experiencing some stress and changes in her previous home. Based on her recent history with other dogs, Dia will do best as the only dog in the household where she can enjoy a calm, stable environment and soak up all the attention from her people. Her experience with cats is unknown. Dia is: • 🤍 Loyal and affectionate with her people • 🏡 Used to indoor home life • 🛏 Crate trained and comfortable when left alone • 👧 Great with children • 🐾 Best suited as the only dog in the home • 💪 A resilient girl who’s overcome past knee surgeries Dia is looking for a stable, loving home where she can settle in, rebuild her confidence, and be someone’s faithful companion again.
