Murphy is a mature 5 year old boxer mix who lives up to his name. He is such a happy and goofy guy. His tongue doesn't always make it back in his mouth and sticks out next to his snaggle tooth...cracks us up! He absolutely wins over everyone he meets, and will quickly become your shadow at home. Since he is a seasoned gentleman, he is house trained and doesn't need to be kept in a kennel if you're not home. He's happy to just sleep on your bed while you're gone. Once he gets his excitement out from seeing you, he can walk leisurely with you around the neighborhood. Murphy adores kids but also thinks they want to play chase when they run. Murphy may not have love at first sight with other dogs, but can quickly become besties. He enjoys playing with dog friends who let him rule the roost. He can sleep or wrestle with the best of them! His future home would need to take care when feeding him around other dogs as he of course wants his food, and toys, all to himself. At his age, we think he's entitled! He must know humans don't like to eat dog food because he could care less about us stealing his food. He loves car rides and knows that his place is in the back. Murphy has spent time with a foster family who feels he has been one of their best fosters yet! There is a perfect place for Murphy, we just know it!

My irresistible under-bite is also a frequent discussion among my friends here. I came to the shelter when my previous family wasnandamp;#39;t ready to put in the time it took to train me to be the perfect house companion. Since being at the shelter&#44 Iandamp;#39;ve made a lot of progress and am now potty trained. I will just need a routine at home! I get to hang out in offices with staff members and they say I would make a great family member! andlt;br/andgt;On leash&#44 I walk perfectly and usually stay right by my handlerandamp;#39;s side. I like to play with toys&#44 fetch&#44 and may enjoy activities where I can show off my jumping skills. Some people here call me andamp;quot;Pogoandamp;quot; because of how high I can jump! Because of this&#44 a tall fence or leash walks may be a good idea for me. Though I do get bursts of energy&#44 I really like to just chill. Iandamp;#39;m often found curled up on a warm bed. Iandamp;#39;m a big cuddler and just want to spend time around people. Watching movies together or sitting next to you while you work sounds like a great time to me! The shelter has been hard for me because the other dogs really stress me out. Iandamp;#39;d rather surround myself only with human companions. I would thrive as an only pet in a quiet area where I can finally relax and be the dog I truly am outside of the shelter. I'm just a 2 year old, 60 lb guy on the hunt for my next belly rub! Don't let the love of snuggles fool you, though! I've been busy with my studies. The list of commands I know is GIANT! You know what they say-everything is bigger with Texas-err-Houston? I know sit, down, stay, high five, hug, orbit, between, wait, and I can even turn off the lights! Learning tricks is one of my favorite activities and I can pick up new ones in just a day or two. I love to run outside and play in the hose, but my favorite game of all is tug of war! I'm super friendly and I love all people. I'm kennel trained, potty trained, and I even enjoy my alone time! I just snooze away in my crate and wait patiently for you to come home. I'd do best in a home with children 5 or older, because I'm still learning how to contain all my excitement around the little ones. I can make doggie friends when you introduce me nicely, or I can be an only dog! I've got so much love to share, and I absolutely cannot wait to meet you!
