Nobody knows how to wear a hat quite like I do&#44 dont you think? Hi there&#44 Im Ava! A sweet and silly girl that cant wait for her forever family. Thankfully&#44 all the kind people at the shelter have given me so much to be happy about. Ive learned what it means to be house trained&#44 how to share my toys&#44 and Ive experienced what it means to be loved&#44 really and truly loved by a human.

I want so much to trust every human I meet right away. But I need a little time to get to know someone and really develop a sense of connection and love for that human. The shelter experience lends itself to a lot of unfamiliar people needing to interact with me often&#44 and I get nervous and scared around all that attention. I prefer slower introductions&#44 getting to know the person&#44 and finding that I can trust that no one wants to hurt me. Once there is patience and understanding between us&#44 Im a little doll. Ive got quite the personality&#44 and I want so much to be a part of a family and feel included in activities.

I am also kennel trained&#44 and I like to sleep in my quiet little spot. Ive been soaking up the love in a foster home recently. When Im not snuggled up with Foster Dad&#44 I enjoy playing with my toys and snoozing the day way. I absolutely adore squeaky toys&#44 and Im a big fan of car rides&#44 too. Starbucks Pup Cup anyone?

Before I fully commit to a family&#44 Id really love to meet everyone to ensure we all have that special connection. Since Im still learning that new people are indeed trustworthy&#44 I would appreciate older kids who know how to be gentle with me. Love is a two-way street&#44 you know. I cant wait to shower my new family with endless love&#44 loyalty&#44 and lots of joy. Together&#44 well make beautiful memories&#44 and I promise to be the best companion anyone could ask for.

Love from Ava

Story
🐶 Meet Thor — A Big, Snuggly Boxer with Energy, Heart, and a Goofy Side Thor is a handsome brown Boxer with a joyful spirit, a big heart, and a whole lot of personality. He was surrendered due to changes in his family’s schedule—not because of anything he did wrong—and he’s ready for a fresh start with people who can appreciate a big, affectionate dog. Thor is fully house trained (no accidents!) and does well on a leash, with only occasional pulling. He’s friendly with adults, kids, and other dogs, and he recently impressed everyone by calmly walking through a large crowd at a holiday lights event. This smart boy already knows sit, down, and stay, and he loves engaging with his people. He’s extremely snuggly and happiest when he’s close to his humans—on the couch, leaning in for pets, or soaking up attention. A pup cup still earns him instant devotion. ❤️ 🐾 A Few Important Things to Know About Thor Thor plays well with other dogs but tends to be on the rougher side, with lots of chasing and tackling. Because of this, he may not be the best match for smaller dogs. He could do well with a dog who enjoys energetic play and can match his size and style. He’s older-kid friendly, but because he’s a big dog with a strong, happy tail, he’s not ideal for very young children who might be knocked over or intimidated. Kids who are dog-savvy and comfortable with larger dogs would be a great fit. Thor can also get a bit mouthy and vocal during play, especially in the mornings when his energy is highest. He’s not aggressive—just enthusiastic and learning how to manage big feelings in a big body. He’s already showing improvement, especially with consistent redirection, and responds best when play is calmly disengaged rather than physically pushed away. Continued training will help him polish these manners even more. Thor is crate trained for daytime when his people are away. He may howl briefly before settling, which is expected as he continues decompressing outside the shelter environment. 🏡 Thor’s Ideal Home Thor will thrive with: • Experienced dog owners • An active household • Continued training and structure • Confident handlers who enjoy working with a smart, energetic dog • Plenty of affection (he gives it right back!) Once his morning energy is out, Thor settles nicely and chills for the rest of the day, making him a wonderful balance of playful and relaxed. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal, goofy Boxer who wants to be part of your world and is ready to keep learning, Thor could be an amazing addition to the right home. 🐾💙 Thor is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, which means you can take some time to get to know him in your home before finalizing the adoption. It’s a great way to ensure the perfect fit! ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. An approved application is required before we can schedule a meet & greet. Once approved, we’ll work with you to ensure it’s a great fit—and if it’s not, no worries! Story
Burner is seeking a family! This little guy (under 40lbs) was running free and decided he just didn't like being alone. He's still just a kid, after all, about 1.5 years old. His eyes may be different colors and his ears may be a lil goofy, but no one taught him how to match. He's since learned the good life, and doesn’t require much bed space as he prefers to be as close to his person as possible. If you're in a shared space or apartment, please be aware he loves to sing...loudly. He also enjoys a good tuggy toy with dog friends and chewing on bone bones. Recently, his friends have introduced him to the delicacy of peanut butter and he hasn't looked back. Got kids? Dogs? Awesome!! Burner loves playing with friends! He hasn't been around a cat, but chihuahuas are scary! If you are interested in meeting Burner, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Dog and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. Burner's adoption fee is $200 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, neuter, HW testing, and microchip.

Story
Meet Georgia, a 3-1/2 year old boxer mix who came in as a stray. We don`t know her history, but she`s dreaming of a happy ever after in her next chapter! She has been tolerant of the other dogs in playgroups. Already have dogs at home? Like all our adult dogs, Georgia will need to meet future canine companions before going joining your pack. Our shelter staff will lead their introductions in a safe environment to see if they are compatible.Georgia is a new arrival and we are just beginning to learn about her. So far she`s an energetic, curious girl with a happy tail. She can be jumpy in her play, and will need to learn better ways to use that playful energy. We’ll add more info as we discover more about her personality and fun quirks. But why wait for that when you can find out for yourself?! Come meet her today.Georgia is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for a loving forever home!

Story
Hubbell is a wonderful dog. He's 6.5 and about as chill as can be. I had him for about 2 days before my landlord informed me she is selling our house, and we have had to make the unfortunate decision to re-home him. I didn't want him back at the shelter so we still have him, but we are also still getting to know him! Hubbell loves everyone he meets. He really just wants to snuggle. He's gentle taking treats and has been good around small children so far. He does okay on a leash, and would improve with a little training. Currently, his walks are short as he is being treated for heartworm. He has about 4 months left of his monthly treatment, and I have meds to send with him. He also does well in his kennel (a treat always helps him go in!) I have a kennel, a bed, a leash and harness to donate, as well as any food or treats I have left. We haven't tested him with other dogs. The shelter said he was shy in play groups, and on walks he seems to want to play. Unsure of cats.

Story
I sure wish I had some great story to tell you about my past life. You know&#44 a story where Im the hero&#44 and I rescued my family from a burning building; or&#44 I pulled the sled team alongside Balto&#44 and we raced across the Alaskan tundra getting life saving medicine to sick children. Alas&#44 I cant tell you those stories because I think I just made them up.

No&#44 I was actually adopted from Great Plains four years ago&#44 and once I went home&#44 well&#44 I lost touch with my friends here. Fast forward to today&#44 and I came into the shelter again because my family moved away and deserted me at our house. I know for a fact it wasnt me or anything I said or did. I think they just didnt want the responsibility of a dog any longer so they abandoned me. Im over it&#44 and I hold no grudges against humans because of them. I know that I need to open my heart to a new family&#44 trust them&#44 and that maybe this time - THIS TIME - they will love me and care for me until the end of my days. I want to be a member of a family and do my part to care and support and love all of those in it.

I lucked out and have had the privilege of living in a foster home with a wonderful couple. They are so good to me&#44 and in return&#44 I have been nothing but a very good dog. I stick to my Foster Mom (FM) like a little bit of velcro. We have kissing sessions in the morning&#44 belly rubs mid-morning&#44 and a wonderful walk around the neighborhood whenever we want. My Foster Dad missed having a dog in the house&#44 so they decided that fostering would be the way to go. He and FM say that&#44 and I quote&#44 Kermit is the best foster dog we have ever had. I am perfect in the home&#44 I am as sweet and loving as they come&#44 and I even get to sleep in bed with them sometimes. They have a four-foot fence&#44 and I dont try to jump it or anything. What kind of dumbo would you have to be to jump a fence and leave this home and family? I love them with all my heart.

Im a calmer guy now than when I was at the shelter previously&#44 more relaxed and mellow than before. Ive maybe gotten over some of my fears&#44 and Ive learned that love is the most important thing in life. Love and smelling the roses on a daily basis. Oh and eating bonbons with someone you love on the couch watching a rom-com. I prefer affection and attention from my human(s) above all else. I want a home where I can hang my hat&#44 climb into my bed&#44 and drift off to sleep knowing that I have a safe and loving haven in which to live. Yes&#44 Ive reached my senior years. And they are years to be enjoyed and savored - like a good book or fine wine. Honestly&#44 I liken myself to a vintage bottle of Chateau Lafite-Rothschild. We both have a smooth&#44 velvety texture&#44 we age gracefully over time&#44 even improving as the years go by. Could you ask for anything more in a dog?

I hope that you are my person. I hope that you are reading about me and want to meet me. I so want my chance at a happily ever after.

Love from Kermit (aka Kirby)

Featuring photos by Krystle-Lee Photography

Didi you know that senior pups have so much more wisdom and experience than their puppy counterparts? Its just like you humans! We let things go more easily&#44 we stop and smell the roses more often. We have more house manners&#44 and we know how to love you completely. Oh&#44 and we certainly take longer naps! Im Aries&#44 a lovable and friendly boy who just needs another chance. I was adopted out from Great Plains years ago&#44 but I was returned recently because my family could no longer care for me.

Ive come to terms with being back at this shelter as a homeless dog once again. Life doesnt always go as planned&#44 but I have had a very good life and my future looks very bright. I have found fun in playing with other dogs here at the shelter. I have a best buddy&#44 and we run and play and romp through the yards enjoying the freedom that a playgroup can bring. I always want to be the fastest. I love having all the other pups try to keep up with me. I know just a few commands&#44 but it is never too late in life to learn something new. Please show me&#44 and Ill make you proud!

I appreciate all that life has offered me thus far. I see a beautiful next chapter in my forever home where I can be free to be me! I hope you will come to the shelter and ask to meet me. I want to make someone happy again.

Love from Aries
