I lived in a foster home for several months and I still get to see them sometimes! Friends, meet Dewey! He is a gentle giant that has the sweetest face you will ever see. He will be your shadow, your cuddle buddy, and your protector. He loves everyone he meets and enjoys playing outside with other dogs. His BFF in his foster home is a teenage boy and they love hanging out in the basement together! Dewey isn't very conscious of his size (can you imagine having to coordinate those giant feet?!), so he'd do best in a home without young children. Dewey is fully housebroken and knows how to use a doggy door. He is very talkative and will be sure to let you know if someone is trying to sneak into your yard! He absolutely loves to play in the pool, especially when he gets to splash around with his doggy friends. He has made doggy friends of all sizes, all the way from 12lbs up to 100lbs. Due to his age, he has a lot of energy and will require a little bit of obedience training. He will also need to learn some manners as he loves to jump up and give lots of kisses. Thankfully, he's very smart and treat-motivated, so a few treats will go a long way when it comes to training Dewey!

His favorite activities include watching Pixar shorts, going on car-rides, and playing with balls. This dude sleeps HARD and has the loudest snore (it's very endearing). Libby is the sweetest boxer mix you'll ever meet! She is the perfect combination of chill and playful. She is kennel trained, not much of a barker, and the best snuggler. Libby does great with kids and other dogs. She is strong, but knows how to be gentle. Libby likes all physical touch, including being picked up and hugged. She never growls at people or dogs - she really is the sweetest and loves everyone! Her energy level is moderate and she will be happiest with a daily walk and fenced-in yard time. She is athletic and can jump 6 ft fences. She will need close supervision or tie-outs in a yard, especially if there are squirrels or rabbits nearby! Libby is very trainable because she'll do anything for a treat. Fun fact - she doesn't mind at all if you touch her feet!

Stewey/Stewie/Stuey was found by PRCKC Outreach December 26th. He'd been hanging around outside an apartment complex for at least 5 days in the cold and rain. It took some coaxing, but the Outreach Team was able to gain Stuart's trust enough to get him to a safe place. Stuart was transferred to us and quickly found a foster home where he is adjusting to being a puppy. He's unsure about new people, especially men but warms up with a little patience and food. Stuart is kennel trained, walks nicely on a leash, and is mostly house trained. Understandably he's a little afraid to go outside in the cold. He has a fantastic pack of foster dogs to help teach him how to be a puppy and a part of a family. Stuart likes to snuggle with his human foster parents, nap curled up with one of his foster siblings or with the laundry. I'm guessing he'll be about 60-70 lbs full grown (he only weighs ~33# now and he's still skinny).

Baxter is not part of the PAWS program.   We show our dogs by appointment only upon receipt of an online application which can be found at kcpaws.petfinder.com  Adoption fee for Baxter is $150 (sponsored).  If you are interested in Baxter, please complete the online application. link to application: https://form.jotform.com/230296113596155 Baxter is an adorable Pit/Boxer mix, perhaps Lab/Pit mix.  Baxter is about 8 years old and is a big ol goofy boy who loves to play with his stuffy toys. He is a happy go lucky sort of boy, but can be protective of his people.  Baxter is fine with some dogs and not with others so we would prefer he goes to a home with no other dogs.  When he does play with other dogs he has a rough and rowdy play style that cam be overwhelming to some dogs. The ideal home for Baxter would be a quiet house without a lot of in and out traffic of non family members coming and going, a nice couch or dog bed for him to lounge on, a toy box full of stuffy toys and a privacy fenced back yard.  He is not a dog that requires a lot of exercise so playing in the house with his toys or in the backyard should be fine for him.
