Story
Meet Cane! Cane is a sweet, goofy Boxer/Pit Bull mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for naps and snuggles. He's house-trained, knows his basic commands, and loves learning new things, especially when treats are involved (very food motivated!). Most days, Cane is happily snoozing, supervising his humans, or curled up as close as possible on the couch. Once a day, he enjoys a short but enthusiastic case of the zoomies before returning to his favorite activity: relaxing. Toys will bring him out of a slumber every time, and he loves some rowdy playtime too. Cane would thrive in a calm, adult-only home where he can be the only pet. He does best without other animals or children and truly shines when he gets all the attention. In the right home, he's affectionate, loyal, and full of personality. If you're looking for a low-key companion who will keep your couch warm and your heart full, Cane may be your perfect match. I wish I could keep him myself truly, he's my best friend.

Story
My name is Allison, and Im a 12-year-old boxer mix who has lived through more than I ever expected. Not too long ago, I came to the shelter skinny, confused, and unsure of what would happen next. Life had been a little ruff before I arrived, and I wasnt sure if anyone would ever look at me with kindness again. But the people here showed me that gentle hands and soft voices still exist, and Ive been slowly remembering how good it feels to be loved.

Im still on the thin side, but dont let that fool you. My heart is full, my spirit is sweet, and Im more than ready to settle into a forever home where I can spend my golden years being pampered the way a senior lady deserves. I get along well with other dogs, and if you rub my ears, Ill melt right into you like Ive known you my whole life. I dont ask for much. A warm place to rest, someone who enjoys quiet companionship, and a family who sees the beauty in an older dog who still has so much love left to give.

Im ready to go home. Truly ready. I just need someone who looks at me and sees not a dog from a hard past, but a gentle soul waiting for her soft landing. If youre out there, Im waiting for you.

Story
Meet Artemis 🐾 Artemis is a 5-month-old boxer/pit mix puppy with the sweetest personality and the perfect balance of playful and cuddly. He plays hard, crashes hard, and loves curling up with both his human and canine friends when the fun is over. This handsome boy is already learning great manners and is very treat motivated. He’s crate trained, sleeps quietly through the night, and keeps his crate clean and dry — though he’d definitely prefer to be out hanging with his people while you’re home and awake. Artemis is also about 95% potty trained and already knows how to use a dog door! He’s wonderfully social with other animals. Artemis is submissive and respectful with adult dogs, listens well to corrections, and enjoys playing with the neighbor’s dog too. He also showed no reaction to a cat, making him a promising candidate for a home with feline friends. One of his cutest quirks? When he’s fully relaxed and settling in for a nap, he lets out the tiniest little “growl” followed by adorable puppy snores. 💙 Artemis is looking for a family ready for all the fun, love, and goofy puppy moments that come with raising a sweet boy like him. ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet Freya Freya is an 6-month-old female Boxer/Pit mix puppy who is smart, playful, and full of potential. She does well with other dogs and would thrive in a home with older children who can respect puppy boundaries. Freya is very intelligent and eager to learn, and she’ll do best with an adopter ready to continue training. She would benefit from a secure yard with a tall, solid (non–chain link) fence so she can safely burn off energy and explore. Freya has already had bilateral cherry eye surgery and is doing well, with no special care needed beyond routine vet care. She’s a bright, loving pup ready to grow into an amazing companion with the right family. **Freya has poultry sensitivity and will need to be on a lamb, beef, or salmon based food*** If you are interested in meeting Freya, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Dog and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. Story
Hubbell is a wonderful dog. He's 6.5 and about as chill as can be. I had him for about 2 days before my landlord informed me she is selling our house, and we have had to make the unfortunate decision to re-home him. I didn't want him back at the shelter so we still have him, but we are also still getting to know him! Hubbell loves everyone he meets. He really just wants to snuggle. He's gentle taking treats and has been good around small children so far. He does okay on a leash, and would improve with a little training. Currently, his walks are short as he is being treated for heartworm. He has about 3 months left of his monthly treatment, and I have meds to send with him. He also does well in his kennel and I have a kennel, a bed, a leash and harness to donate, as well as any food or treats I have left. We haven't tested him with other dogs. The shelter said he was shy in play groups, and on walks he seems to want to play. Unsure of cats.

Story
I sure wish I had some great story to tell you about my past life. You know&#44 a story where Im the hero&#44 and I rescued my family from a burning building; or&#44 I pulled the sled team alongside Balto&#44 and we raced across the Alaskan tundra getting life saving medicine to sick children. Alas&#44 I cant tell you those stories because I think I just made them up.

No&#44 I was actually adopted from Great Plains four years ago&#44 and once I went home&#44 well&#44 I lost touch with my friends here. Fast forward to today&#44 and I came into the shelter again because my family moved away and deserted me at our house. I know for a fact it wasnt me or anything I said or did. I think they just didnt want the responsibility of a dog any longer so they abandoned me. Im over it&#44 and I hold no grudges against humans because of them. I know that I need to open my heart to a new family&#44 trust them&#44 and that maybe this time - THIS TIME - they will love me and care for me until the end of my days. I want to be a member of a family and do my part to care and support and love all of those in it.

I lucked out and have had the privilege of living in a foster home with a wonderful couple. They are so good to me&#44 and in return&#44 I have been nothing but a very good dog. I stick to my Foster Mom (FM) like a little bit of velcro. We have kissing sessions in the morning&#44 belly rubs mid-morning&#44 and a wonderful walk around the neighborhood whenever we want. My Foster Dad missed having a dog in the house&#44 so they decided that fostering would be the way to go. He and FM say that&#44 and I quote&#44 Kermit is the best foster dog we have ever had. I am perfect in the home&#44 I am as sweet and loving as they come&#44 and I even get to sleep in bed with them sometimes. They have a four-foot fence&#44 and I dont try to jump it or anything. What kind of dumbo would you have to be to jump a fence and leave this home and family? I love them with all my heart.

Im a calmer guy now than when I was at the shelter previously&#44 more relaxed and mellow than before. Ive maybe gotten over some of my fears&#44 and Ive learned that love is the most important thing in life. Love and smelling the roses on a daily basis. Oh and eating bonbons with someone you love on the couch watching a rom-com. I prefer affection and attention from my human(s) above all else. I want a home where I can hang my hat&#44 climb into my bed&#44 and drift off to sleep knowing that I have a safe and loving haven in which to live. Yes&#44 Ive reached my senior years. And they are years to be enjoyed and savored - like a good book or fine wine. Honestly&#44 I liken myself to a vintage bottle of Chateau Lafite-Rothschild. We both have a smooth&#44 velvety texture&#44 we age gracefully over time&#44 even improving as the years go by. Could you ask for anything more in a dog?

I hope that you are my person. I hope that you are reading about me and want to meet me. I so want my chance at a happily ever after.

Love from Kermit (aka Kirby)

Featuring photos by Krystle-Lee Photography

Story
I got doggers when she was just 6 weeks old. She has been with us since. We have moved as a family and our new landlord does not accept dogs. She is a good dog she needs some work. She is potty trained, but has a tendency to go inside when home alone for a long period of time. She is a loving very playful dog. She is good with kids and is a protector. She is going to need a good walk daily and lots of exercise. We hope to find a loving home for her.
