Baxter is a courtesy listing for an individual or group seeking a new home for Baxter. Baxter is not part of the PAWS program.   We show our dogs by appointment only upon receipt of an online application which can be found at kcpaws.petfinder.com  Adoption fee for Baxter is $150 (sponsored).  If you are interested in Baxter, please complete the online application. link to application: https://form.jotform.com/230296113596155 Baxter is an adorable Pit/Boxer mix, perhaps Lab/Pit mix.  Baxter is about 8 years old and is a big ol goofy boy who loves to play with his stuffy toys. He is a happy go lucky sort of boy, but can be protective of his people.  Baxter is fine with some dogs and not with others so we would prefer he goes to a home with no other dogs.  When he does play with other dogs he has a rough and rowdy play style that cam be overwhelming to some dogs. The ideal home for Baxter would be a quiet house without a lot of in and out traffic of non family members coming and going, a nice couch or dog bed for him to lounge on, a toy box full of stuffy toys and a privacy fenced back yard.  He is not a dog that requires a lot of exercise so playing in the house with his toys or in the backyard should be fine for him. Abigail is a 1.5 year old female boxer mix looking for her forever cuddle buddy. She is good with other dogs. We suggest no cats. Abbie-Girl has so much love to give to a lucky family! Abbie may appear short in stature, however, her Boxer mix is in her back legs which makes her very springy. Her Foster Mom lovingly calls her the “Houdini” because she is determined to escape the backyard. Because of this, she would be safest in an apartment or home with frequent walks and should not be left alone in a back yard. She also LOVES doggy daycare! She's a beautiful athletic girl and can't wait to meet you. Hi! My name’s Houston. If you want a dog to snuggle, I’m your guy! I’d spend all day right next to you getting belly rubs if I could. Really, though, I’m way too smart to laze around. I know sit, down, stay, high five, hug, orbit, between, wait, and I can even turn off the lights! Learning tricks is one of my favorite activities and I can pick up new ones in just a day or two. I love to run outside and play in the hose, but my favorite game of all is tug of war. (I'll even let you win sometimes!) I’m kennel trained, house trained, and I do amazing being left alone. jack and charlie are brother and sister coming from a litter of 9 - My brothers dogs and I rehomed all of them except Jack and charlie. I am sick and moving in with my daughter out of state and they can not allow me to bring them as they already have 2 big dogs. I have been desperately looking for almost a year I have contacted 60 plus facilty's and hear the same thing - I'm not in their area or they are full. I am looking outside the Kansas city area as there is absolutely nothing to be found for surrendering or find them a home. They are good dogs and would do good with older children but not with cats. They do good around other dogs, they have experience with smaller dogs and have done good. When I called Five Acres Animal Shelter the lady I talked with gave me a small glimmer of hope.
