Story
Pet Location: Wayside Waifs CampusMy Friends at Wayside say: - I`m a sweet and gentle girl who would love a couch to snooze on!- I have successfully lived with cats in my previous home. - My previous owner said that I am house-trained and crate-trained.- I already know some basic commands!- I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period. Please visit our website for additional information. My home needs are: - I must meet other dogs in the home before adoption to ensure that we can be buddies. Please arrive at the shelter before 4pm on our open adoption days so we can meet!- I need a home with kids 6 years old and older since I tend to be nervous around new people and loud noises. - If you have kids in the home 9 years old and younger, I will need to meet them since I can be nervous around new people and loud noises. - New people and things make me a little nervous. Wayside recommends that I have a low traffic home.Hi, I’m Beth!I’m a shy girl who needs a little extra patience and understanding while I get comfortable in a new home. I’m smart and food-motivated, and I already know some basic commands, which makes learning new things fun for me! I can be a bit sensitive to touch, so it’s best to ask the staff for more details on how to make me feel safe and happy. My previous owner told the staff that I’m both house-trained and crate-trained, so I already know some important ways to live in a home.I do best in a calm environment, because new people, loud noises, and new things can make me nervous. I would love a home where I can take things at my own pace and feel safe exploring at my own comfort level. I’m also very interested in making friends with other dogs, so it’s important to meet any furry family members before adoption. If there are kids in the home 9 and under, I’ll need to meet them first too, since I can get nervous around new people and busy activity. If you have a low-traffic home and are willing to go slow with me, I’ll reward you with loyalty, love, and a little sweetness that grows every day. I’m ready to find someone who understands me, gives me confidence, and lets me bloom into the best version of myself. With patience, treats, and gentle guidance, I know I can be a happy, loving companion for the right person... Could that be you?Love, Beth

Story
** Adoption Fee Waived **Meet Georgia, a 3-year-old Boxer mix who came in as a stray and is ready to start her happily-ever-after!In playgroups, she has been social with other dogs, though she would do best in a home without small dogs or cats. Because of her spirited personality, Georgia would need to meet any children in the home, and she may thrive best with older kids who can join her in her playful adventures.Georgia is a goofy, sweet girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She may have a major pouty face, but it’s the complete opposite of who she is—this girl is full of joy, love, and playful energy. She absolutely loves attention and just wants to be near her people whenever she can.She can be a little excited when first meeting you, but she settles quickly and is happy to enjoy your company, whether that’s soaking up pets or heading out for a nice, leisurely stroll. Georgia is also food motivated, knows “sit,” and would love to keep learning with her future family.Georgia is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for a loving forever home. Come meet this fun-loving girl and see just how special she is!

Story
Meet Freya Freya is an 6-month-old female Boxer/Pit mix puppy who is smart, playful, and full of potential. She does well with other dogs and would thrive in a home with older children who can respect puppy boundaries. Freya is very intelligent and eager to learn, and she’ll do best with an adopter ready to continue training. She would benefit from a secure yard with a tall, solid (non–chain link) fence so she can safely burn off energy and explore. Freya has already had bilateral cherry eye surgery and is doing well, with no special care needed beyond routine vet care. She’s a bright, loving pup ready to grow into an amazing companion with the right family. **Freya has poultry sensitivity and will need to be on a lamb, beef, or salmon based food*** If you are interested in meeting Freya, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Dog and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. Freya's adoption fee is $250 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, spay, microchip, deworm, and cherry eye surgery on both eyes.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Gnome is a special little girl looking for her forever home. She is approximately 9 months old. She is anxious when meeting new people. It takes some time and patience for her to warm up to someone. Gnome loves belly rubs, playing with her sister and our dog in the backyard and chew toys. Like a typical puppy, she likes to dig in the backyard and will chew on anything she finds, i.e., slippers. Gnome is learning to walk on a leash but can be easily distracted. She is house broken and is learning her basic commands. She would do well in a home with another dog. She has had limited exposure to cats but those interactions were successful. Gnome is currently being fostered with her sibling Patti. They have been together since birth and are extremely close. We feel it would be a plus if this bonded pair were adopted together into their forever home. But this is absolutely not needed!   For more info contact Cassie at crweber27@gmail.com The animal listed on this page was listed as a courtesy to help find the animal a home. Story
Some dogs endure far too much in their lives. Pawpaw is one of those dogs. He was picked up as a stray, emaciated and left to die. (see last picture). Once at the shelter he gained weight and began to thrive, but the constant confinement has been hard on him. Once outside his kennel he loves to play ball and chew on his favorite toys. Pawpaw is a senior dog and must be the only pet in the home.

Story
Honey is a great lab mix with the athletic ability that is unreal. She has earned the nickname of "Michael Jordan" of the shelter. She can literally jump 6 feet in the air, from the ground, at a dead stop. Because of this a tall fence or leash walk is a must for her.
