She does well with other dogs and would thrive in a home with older children who can respect puppy boundaries. Freya is very intelligent and eager to learn, and she’ll do best with an adopter ready to continue training. She would benefit from a secure yard with a tall, solid (non–chain link) fence so she can safely burn off energy and explore. Freya has already had bilateral cherry eye surgery and is doing well, with no special care needed beyond routine vet care. She is anxious when meeting new people. It takes some time and patience for her to warm up to someone. Gnome loves belly rubs, playing with her sister and our dog in the backyard and chew toys. Like a typical puppy, she likes to dig in the backyard and will chew on anything she finds, i.e., slippers. Gnome is learning to walk on a leash but can be easily distracted. She is house broken and is learning her basic commands. She would do well in a home with another dog. She has had limited exposure to cats but those interactions were successful. Gnome is currently being fostered with her sibling Patti. They have been together since birth and are extremely close. We feel it would be a plus if this bonded pair were adopted together into their forever home. But this is absolutely not needed! Hi! My name’s Houston. I'm a four-year-old boxer mix boy and kind of a beefcake at around 80 pounds. (I'd argue that it's all muscle, too.) One of the things I want most in a forever home is a human friend to hang out with, not doing anything in particular, just a couple pals spending time together. Wouldn't that be amazing? I'm a little shy at first, but if you'll give me a few minutes to get to know you, we'll be besties. And I promise to be your snuggle pup! Really, though, I’m way too smart to laze around 24/7. I know sit, down, stay, high five, orbit, between, and wait. Learning tricks is one of my favorite activities and I can pick up new ones in just a day or two. I love to run outside and play in water from the hose. In case I wasn't clear enough on that, I LOVE PLAYING IN THE WATER!!!. My favorite game of all is tug of war. (I'll even let you win sometimes!) I’m kennel trained, house trained, and am good at being left alone. In fact, I do some of my best snoozing in my crate while I wait patiently for you to come home. I’d do best in a home with older children because I’m still learning how to contain all my excitement around the little ones. Since I've been looking for a home for a while, I think I'd prefer to be the only doggo so I don't have to share. I’ve got so much love to share and I absolutely cannot wait to meet you! This beautiful girl was dumped at a high kill shelter because her family was moving. Luckily for her she was saved just in time! Luna is the sweetest thing you will ever meet, she loves all people and other dogs. She is still a pup so needs a little basic training but she is smart and eager to learn! Approximate Birthdate: August 2025 Adoption Fee: $200 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming. TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL. Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.
