Story
Ozzy was picked up as a tiny puppy and suffered from parvo. He's a survivor, and once cleared was adopted and loved very much. The family had a medical emergency with a member and decided that it wasn't fair to kennel him for several hours a day, and so he was returned. They said he does very well with little children, and was almost housetrained. Here at the shelter, we have found that he loves every dog, every person and is just the sweetest boy. His favorite thing to do is climb on your lap, crawl up near your head and make himself into a little doggie scarf!

Story
Approx. DOB: 4/12/18                 Approx. Weight: 50 pds Adoption Fee: $200 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Savannah is a beautiful 8-year-old Boxer with a heart as big as her adorable Boxer smile. This sweet senior came to Furry Kids after her owner unexpectedly passed away, turning her world upside down. Despite everything she's been through, Savannah hasn't lost her love for life. Don't let her age fool you—this girl still has plenty of pep in her step! Savannah loves to play, enjoys being with her people, and still has the fun-loving Boxer personality the breed is known for. When Savannah first arrived in our care, she was very underweight and had several painful dental issues. She has since had a dental procedure to remove her bad teeth and is steadily gaining the healthy weight she deserves. She's feeling better every day and is ready to start the next chapter of her life with a family who will love her as much as she deserves. Savannah is looking for a home where she can enjoy the comforts of family life, plenty of love, cozy naps, and some playtime too. She may be considered a senior, but she still has so much life, love, and companionship to offer. Could you be the one to give Savannah the happy ending she's been waiting for? Come meet this wonderful girl—you just might fall in love! I have been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.   Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! Wayside recommends that I have a low traffic home.Hi, I’m Beth!I’m a shy girl who needs a little extra patience and understanding while I get comfortable in a new home. I’m smart and food-motivated, and I already know some basic commands, which makes learning new things fun for me! I can be a bit sensitive to touch, so it’s best to ask the staff for more details on how to make me feel safe and happy. My previous owner told the staff that I’m both house-trained and crate-trained, so I already know some important ways to live in a home.I do best in a calm environment, because new people, loud noises, and new things can make me nervous. I would love a home where I can take things at my own pace and feel safe exploring at my own comfort level. I’m also very interested in making friends with other dogs, so it’s important to meet any furry family members before adoption. If there are kids in the home 9 and under, I’ll need to meet them first too, since I can get nervous around new people and busy activity. If you have a low-traffic home and are willing to go slow with me, I’ll reward you with loyalty, love, and a little sweetness that grows every day. I’m ready to find someone who understands me, gives me confidence, and lets me bloom into the best version of myself. With patience, treats, and gentle guidance, I know I can be a happy, loving companion for the right person... Could that be you?Love, Beth

Pet Location: Wayside Waifs Campus My Friends at Wayside say: - I prefer to coexist with other dogs.- Chews, Kong-like feeders, puzzle toys—help to keep me entertained!- New people and things make me a little nervous. Let’s take things slow!- I have displayed some touch sensitivities. Ask our staff for more info!- I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period. Please visit our website for additional information. My home needs are: - Cats and small mammals are much too interesting to me, so my home will need to be cat and small mammal free. - I must meet other dogs in the home before adoption to ensure that we can be buddies.Hiya, I’m Max! I`m a 5-year-old boxer mix with a big heart, a gentle soul, and a lot of love to give! My story has a few chapters already -- I was actually found as a stray by my previous owner, who took amazing care of me for as long as she possibly could. She always told everyone what a friendly boy I am, and she made sure I got plenty of my two absolute favorite things: yummy treats and lots of belly rubs! I can be a little bit nervous when meeting new people at first, so I really appreciate it when we can take things slow and let me get comfortable at my own pace. Once I know I`m safe, my true friendly, gentle, and playful personality completely shines through! When I`m hanging out, I love to investigate my surroundings with a good sniff session, and I`m great at self-entertaining with my toys. When it comes to other dogs, I prefer to calmly coexist rather than be in a high-energy playgroup. Because of that, it`s a must that I do a quick meet-and-greet with any pups you have at home first to make sure we`re a good match. Also, I have a pretty strict rule about my future home: absolutely no cats for me, please! If you have a little patience to help a sweet guy settle in, I promise to reward you with a lifetime of gentle companionship, playfulness, and endless opportunities to give me belly rubs. Meet me soon, okay? Love, Max

Story
Hi! My name’s Houston. I'm a four-year-old boxer mix boy and kind of a beefcake at around 80 pounds. (I'd argue that it's all muscle, too.) One of the things I want most in a forever home is a human friend to hang out with, not doing anything in particular, just a couple pals spending time together. Wouldn't that be amazing? I'm a little shy at first, but if you'll give me a few minutes to get to know you, we'll be besties. And I promise to be your snuggle pup! Really, though, I’m way too smart to laze around 24/7. I know sit, down, stay, high five, orbit, between, and wait. Learning tricks is one of my favorite activities and I can pick up new ones in just a day or two. I love to run outside and play in water from the hose. In case I wasn't clear enough on that, I LOVE PLAYING IN THE WATER!!!. My favorite game of all is tug of war. (I'll even let you win sometimes!) I’m kennel trained, house trained, and am good at being left alone. In fact, I do some of my best snoozing in my crate while I wait patiently for you to come home. I’d do best in a home with older children because I’m still learning how to contain all my excitement around the little ones. Since I've been looking for a home for a while, I think I'd prefer to be the only doggo so I don't have to share. I’ve got so much love to share and I absolutely cannot wait to meet you! You'll get to see my cute little nub of a tail wag and wag when I'm happy and that will make YOU happy, too! Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 to find out more about me! I'm in the Kansas City metro, but my human friends will transport me to the right home. #thepetconnection #BoxerMix #AdoptDontShop #RescueDog #DogsofKC #SmartPup #PlayfulPup #ForeverHomeNeeded #KCAdopt #DogLovers #pawsitivetailskc

Story
Meet Fletch! This brindle cutie is a master of the happy butt-wiggle. Fletch is playful, goofy, and smart, but also knows the art of cuddling. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and does great on a leash—walks are his jam! Fletch loves people and will be happiest as your one-and-only pup, though he might do fine with a calm doggy friend. He’s an affectionate, mostly quiet guy who’s just as happy chasing toys as he is snuggling on the couch. A fenced yard and daily exercise will keep him at his best. Fletch has had some tough times, but he’s grateful for every good thing—and he’s ready for his forever people to come along. 📍 Kansas City metro (transport available!) 📞 Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387
