Story
Meet Tuna 🐾 Tuna is a dapper young lady with a striking white coat and a heart full of potential! At just 8 months old, this Labrador/Boxer mix is in her "teenager" phase—meaning she’s past the tiny puppy stage but still has plenty of youthful energy and curiosity to share. Tuna recently joined us as a transfer and has been a delight since the moment she arrived. Weighing in at 40 lbs, she is a sturdy, medium-sized companion who is ready to find a family to call her own. Tuna is a social girl with a unique "Mirror Match" play style. This means she tends to reflect the energy of the dogs she’s with! She is Dog Selective/Friendly, playing very nicely with dogs that match her vibe. She hasn't had the chance to interact with children or cats while in our care. As with any shelter animal, we recommend supervised introductions to ensure she is a great fit for your specific household. Whether she's sporting her favorite green bowtie or just wagging her tail in greeting, she is sure to bring a lot of light to her future forever home!

Story
Meet Dexter! This sweet Boxer mix is as affectionate as they come—his favorite place is right in your lap. Dexter loves car rides, playing fetch, splashing in the water, and being close to his people. He has the typical boxer energy and boxer traits. He’s potty trained, does well in his crate, and sleeps through the night. Dexter already knows sit, down, place, and come—and with his love of treats, he’s eager to keep learning! He’s still practicing leash manners (sometimes he forgets and pulls), but with patience he’ll nail it in no time. He would do best in a home without little kids. If you’re looking for a snuggly best friend with tons of potential, Dexter’s your guy!!

Story
Meet Bailey Bailey is a 5-year-old Boxer mix who was surrendered to the shelter and is now looking for a calm, understanding home where she can feel safe and loved again.Bailey is a nervous girl who needs gentle coaxing and patience when meeting new people or experiencing new environments. Once she feels comfortable, she is sweet and gentle, but she will need a family that understands she may take a little time to warm up.Bailey previously lived with children, but because loud noises and fast movements make her nervous, we are recommending a home with children over 10 years old who can respect her space and move calmly around her.Bailey appears to have been around cats before, as she showed curiosity but remained calm and uninterested when tested around shelter cats. She may be able to live with cats with proper introductions. When meeting other dogs, Bailey does best with calm, low-energy dogs. A very energetic puppy was too overwhelming for her, but she did well with a calmer dog where they were able to sniff and stand together comfortably.Bailey is not a bad dog — just a nervous dog who needs someone to show her the world is a safe place again. Could you be the one to give Bailey the quiet, loving home she deserves?

Mocha is the sweetest pup! She loves to be loved! She is a high energy puppy and with current health issues going on we cannot give her the care that she needs. She deserves a loving home with a backyard for her to roam! She is good with other dogs and any kids we have been around. She loves to cuddle and to nap! She has been doing good with potty training but does have occasional accidents when I am at work, or if she gets to excited. Her estimated birthday is august 1. She was adopted at the humane society as at 13-15 weeks old.

Story
Located in High Ridge MO This is Ziggy, he is a 2.5 year old male neutered Pitt. He’s approximately 50-60 lbs. Rabies, DHLPP and Bordatella are good until Nov. 2021 other than that I have no medical history. He was surrendered by his owner due to unhealthy living conditions for his pets. He is very good with people once he warms up. Does good for baths and nail trims. Doesn’t chew up beds or blankets etc. Good with other big dogs. Not good with small dogs. NO CATS - NO KIDS. We have a male lab golden mix and they were BFF’s after day 2. He loves to burrow under covers, walks well on a leash, doesn’t need expensive food, rides great in the car and has a great warning bark at strangers at the door. He doesn’t bark at the wind or anything excessive. We brought him home for three weeks. He did amazing. We love him and would have kept him but unfortunately something in him doesn’t do well with all kids. THIS ANIMAL IS BEING POSTED AS A COURTESY. MUTTS-N-STUFF HAS NOT EVALUATED THE ANIMAL, IS MAKING NO REPRESENTATIONS AND/OR WARRANTIES ABOUT THE ANIMAL, AND PLACEMENT OF THE ANIMAL ON THIS SITE SHOULD NOT BE CONSTRUED AS AN ENDORSEMENT OF THE ANIMAL AS HAVING PASSED ANY EVALUATIONS OR TESTS.

Thank you for your interest in one of our dogs!! If you are interested in one of our dogs, please submit an adoption application. An application is REQUIRED to meet our dogs unless you come to a meet/greet event. ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LKR/Dog If the dog is listed on pet sites, it is available for adoption; it is not necessary to call/email to ask if they are available. Meet/Greet Events: You can visit our website to find our when we have scheduled meet/greet events www.luckyk9rescue.org. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have facility for you to come visit our dogs which is why an application is required prior to meeting. Once applications are submitted - if you meet the minimum requirements for the dog you are interested in, the application is forwarded to the foster for their review. It can take time for us and the foster to review all the applications received. This part of the process can take a few weeks, sometimes more. Due to the number of applications we receive for all the dogs/puppies we are not able to respond to everyone as to the status of their application. You will be contacted if you are selected to schedule a meet/greet. Adoption Process: An application is submitted and approved, a meet/greet is scheduled and a home visit is required. The adoption process takes at minimum of a week AFTER your application has been approved and a meet and greet scheduled. If selected as a potential adoptive family you will be contacted by phone, text or email to schedule a meet/greet. Because we are all volunteers and have full-time jobs & families out adoption process does take time. Forever homes are chosen based on the dog's personality and the applicant we feel offers the best fit for the dog. Please be patient with us through this process. Adoption decisions are based input from both the foster family and the board requirements. Adopters are selected based on the best fit for the dog and are not selected on a first come first serve basis. Adoption fees cover: Spay/neuter, clear stool sample, HW test for dogs brought in over 4-mths of age, all required and a clean bill of health from our veterinarian. vaccinations Puppies will have all age-appropriate vaccinations; however, follow-up vetting may be required depending on age but are covered by the rescue at our veterinarian. If over 2 mths of age they are on monthly HW & flea/tick prevention. Our adoption fees vary based on the age of the dog: >>Puppies up to 1yr $350 >>1 yr to 4 yrs $300 >>5 to 7 yrs $250 >>7 yrs and up $200 Who are we: Just like many smaller rescue organizations, Lucky K9 Rescue is 100% volunteer driven. We all work regular full-time jobs and many have families as well. We are foster-based rescue organization, which means all our dogs live in the loving homes of our volunteer foster families. We do not adopt out dogs until they have had time to decompress (typically 3-6 weeks), are fully vetted, we get to know their personalities and ensure there are not any underlying concerns or health issues. ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Must own your own home and have a fully fenced back yard - electric or underground fences are not permitted (We do make some concessions regarding fences, but it is on a one-on-one basis and depends on the personality of the dog.)
