Story
How this pet arrived: KC was brought in by her previous owner on November 4, 2025.Why this pet is the one for you:Meet KC, a distinguished feline with plenty of purrsonality! She's beautiful, independent and thrives when she can lounge in a peaceful environment. KC has a bit of a history with skipping the litterbox, and while the exact "why" remains one of life's great mysteries, we suspect she wasn't thrilled about sharing her space with another cat and may also have some early kidney changes. KC is looking for a drama-free home without the hustle and bustle of other pets or young children. A calm environment and a dedicated "KC Room" to help her reset her litterbox habits will set her up for success. She may take her time to settle in, but once KC feels comfortable, she'll reward your patience with quiet companionship and her own brand of quirky charm. Although she has an independent nature, she may snuggle with you at night, once you bond! She also enjoys receiving ear rubs and will show you her air biscuits in return. Think of her as a cat with main character energy - she just needs the right stage to shine! Don't forget to bring a cat carrier for a safe ride home! Shy/Fearful Cat:KC requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about her. Primary Color: Brown Tabby Secondary Color: White Weight: 10.34 Age: 10yrs 4mths 2wks

Story
How this pet arrived: Henry was brought in by a community member on November 12, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Henry! Henry is a sweet guy with a slow-to-warm-up, then total sidekick vibe. At first, he may give you the classic polite nod from across the room, but once he decides you're trustworthy, he leans right in for all the head scratches. Being carried? Absolutely not on his agenda. But sprawling in a sunny spot like a tiny lion on vacation? Now that is his specialty. Henry is on the lookout for a home where he can chill out, claim the best sunbeams and quietly supervise life's activities. He brings calm energy, soft paws and excellent sunbathing skills to the table. He does have a quiet heart murmur, so we recommend following up with your vet to keep him happy and healthy. If you're ready for a mellow buddy with a sprinkle of charm and a strong appreciation for relaxation, Henry might be the cat for you. When it's time to bring him home, don't forget a large, secure carrier - Henry appreciates a safe, roomy ride! At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. This pet is now ready for adoption! Primary Color: Blue Weight: 13.6 Age: 10yrs 4mths 1wks

Story
How this pet arrived: Pedi Paws and Jack were brought in by their previous owner on November 23, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you: Meet Jack and Pedi Paws (#177433), two best friends looking for a loving new home together! Pedi Paws isn't actually running a high-end feline nail salon - but with those dainty toes and careful steps, she does walk like she's on a tiny runway. Jack, meanwhile, isn't climbing beanstalks - his preferred adventure is claiming the warmest sunspot in the room. Both cats are sensitive to change, so they'll need a calm, consistent home where they can settle in at their own pace. Once they're comfortable, they're all about soft pets and lounging in their favorite spot as they casually begin taking over your home in the most endearing way. They've done well with a small, cat-savvy dog and do best with older respectful kids who understand that great cats sometimes need a moment before the curtain rises on their personalities. Pedi Paws will supervise household happenings with refined paw-fessionalism, while Jack contributes with his signature "cool guy" vibe. Together, they bring double the whiskers, double the character and double the fun. These two do have dental disease and have at least one tooth (per cat) that will need to be extracted - we would love to go over options with you, if you want to bring them home! When it's time to bring them home, please remember to pack two secure carriers - they're best friends, but they still prefer their own seats for the ride. At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!Shy/Fearful Cat: Pedi Paws and Jack require a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Story
How this pet arrived: Ivy was brought in by her previous owner on February 26, 2026.Why this pet is the one for you: Meet Ivy - the life of the party wrapped in fur! This energetic girl is always ready to turn an ordinary afternoon into playtime. If it crinkles, wiggles, dangles, or rolls, she's already on it. Ivy has a big personality and an even bigger zest for fun. She's learning that fingers and toes aren't part of her toy collection and is doing a great job redirecting that playful energy toward wand toys, kickers, and crinkly balls. Because she's an active and clever girl, Ivy thrives in a home that can keep her mind and body busy. Puzzle feeders, training games, toy rotations, and daily playtime will help her stay happily engaged. Think of her as your tiny, whiskered athlete who benefits from both physical workouts and brain challenges. Ivy also appreciates a human who can read her signals. A quick tail swish or a little ripple along her back is her way of saying, "Okay, that's enough for now!" Giving her a short break helps keep interactions positive and fun for everyone. She would do best in a home with older children (12+) who understand that playtime has rules and can respect her boundaries. If you're looking for a bold, bouncy, endlessly entertaining companion who will keep you laughing and on your toes, Ivy is ready to bring the fun. Don't forget a secure, hard-sided carrier for her ride home!Overstimulated Cat:  Ivy requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Story
How this pet arrived: Figero was brought in by his previous owner on March 15, 2026.Why this pet is the one for you: Figero #756943 and Sylvester #756947 are ready to bring their double-act to a new home, though this bonded pair of felines prefers a "slow-roll" debut. While both cats are playful and energetic, Sylvester is the undisputed track star of the duo, often outpacing Figero when it comes to high-speed antics and toy chasing. To ensure a successful opening night, both cats will require a dedicated confinement room where they can adjust to their new surroundings together. Figero, in particular, can be a bit of a "wallflower" in novel settings with new people, but his previous owners report that he warms up quickly once he realizes he is among friends. Taking things slow with initial interactions will help both boys feel like the kings of their new castle. These socialites are already experienced in the art of interspecies diplomacy, having previously lived with a bulldog. Their successful history with a canine roommate suggests they may do well with a cat-savvy dog who understands feline boundaries. Adopters should come prepared for the "purr-fect" pickup with two large, hard-sided carriers to ensure a safe and comfortable ride home. With a little patience and a quiet home base to start, Figero and Sylvester are sure to become the headliners of your household.Shy/Fearful Cat: Figero requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Story
How this pet arrived: Bagheera was brought in by her previous owner on March 5, 2026.Why this pet is the one for you:Bagheera is a cautious girl who needs a patient heart and a hands-off approach to feel secure. Her journey begins with a commitment to extended confinement in a "safe room," allowing her to adjust at her own pace without being forced into handling. By letting her interact on her own terms, you'll find that the key to her heart is often found through tasty treats and gentle play with wand toys. Because she is not a candidate for a multi-child household, she would do best in a home without the hustle and bustle of young children where she can build a relationship over time. She thrives when given the space to grow comfortable in a small, quiet household, eventually rewarding your patience with her unique brand of loyalty. If you are ready to offer the understanding she deserves, come adopt Bagheera today! Just be sure to bring a secure, hard-sided cat carrier to ensure she has a safe journey to her new forever home. Shy/Fearful Cat:Bagheera requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about her. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 11.3 Age: 8yrs 1mths 3wks
