12/4 update from foster: "Charlie is doing great - he’s happy, healthy and a good balance of active and sleeps like a cat." 11/15 update from foster: "He is doing great! I think he’s a little lonely without Sunny but he is super friendly, playful, likes attention & wants to be nearby people. He purrs a lot. He loves playing with strings, toys, boxes and paper bags. He tolerates being picked up and sitting on laps so we are working on doing that more so he gets more comfortable with it." Charlie is a beautiful young boy. He is very affectionate and purrs on demand with any attention. He is very playful and inquisitive. He loves to show off his beautiful toes and nails! Perfect tabby markings….he is a specimen! Charlie can be adopted with or without Sunny. Charlie has made the journey up from San Antonio, Texas to Colorado in South Denver, available to meet! Story
Binx is two years old and has been living with her Mum in a single room for most of her life.  Now that she has the full run of the house, she is blossoming into a fun-loving playmate.  She is still a bit skittish, but her foster mom is working on her socialization. Binx is a big girl, about the size of a Maine Coon but with short hair. She loves looking out windows, so she would appreciate having perches at active windows where things are happening outside.  Her favourite toys are the 'flying' type and balls on the ground that make no sound, such as sponge and sparkle balls. Binx wants to play 'tag' and 'catch me, catch me' with her birth Mum, unfortunately Mum is not amenable at this time, but we assume that Binx would be OK with other cats after the right introduction.  Unclear about dogs, but with the right introduction, it might work, especially if the dog likes to play.  Children would need to be old enough to be gentle at first and give her space and time until she builds trust with them and continues to become a more confident lady.  At two years old, she is still very kittenish and loves to play! Yeah! Come meet Binx and see what a wonderful addition to your home she could make.   Origin story: Two years ago, one of our San Antonio rescuers was walking to her mailbox when she saw something black and white on the middle of the street- she thought it was a rag or a piece of clothing. When she got close she realized it was a cat- a very, very skinny cat that she thought had been run over because it's eyes were closed. As she reached down to touch it, it opened its eyes and it was alive! The cat allowed the rescuer to pet her and then got up and followed her to the mailbox. There she went into the bushes behind the mailboxes and came out again. The rescuer paid attention and saw five small kittens hidden in the bushes. The rescuer understood that she was asking for help, to help all of them. Diamond (black with white diamond on chest), the Mum, was on the brink of death from starvation, but with tender love and care she recovered. Four of the kittens were adopted to family and friends in San Antonio. Binx (all black, formerly Flower) is the last kitten and has lived together with Mum Diamond in their rescuer's "cat room" for almost two years. They are both good cats but are ready for their own individual homes! Binx was named after the lovable character in Hocus Pocus. She still needs more socialization but her Denver foster has been working on that, with help from her cat loving community, and she's getting better every day and gaining trust! Binx has made the journey up from San Antonio, Texas to Colorado and is being fostered in Denver, available to meet. Wouldn't you like to bring some magic into your home? Story
The perfect combination!  Diamond acts like part cat / part dog; part kitten / part full-grown cat.  She is like the 3 year old in a princess dress or a Batman costume. Perfect for the family that wants a cat to play without the kitten hassles.  If you are looking for a kitty with personality, Diamond is your girl!  She loves to play like a kitten, wants to be around her human, greets new people like a dog, but sleeps through the night like a full grown cat.  The toys she likes best are the 'flying' type and ball on the ground that make no sound, such as sponge and sparkle balls. Her foster mom thinks she would do great with the Word buttons that are so popular.  With some training, she also could be a cat that likes to go on hikes with you.  She loves looking out windows, so having perches at windows where things are happening outside would be great. She has been living with her last kitten for two years and is just done with being a mom, so integration with other cats is questionable.  She lived in a house with lots of dogs, so that is also a question mark, but with a calm dog and a slow introduction, it might work.  However, she does want to be queen of the house, so keep that in mind. She is not a cat you can adopt, throw down some toys and ignore for days on end.  She needs people, play, and things to learn.  If that is right for your family, come meet Diamond!!   Origin story: Two years ago, one of our San Antonio rescuers was walking to her mailbox when she saw something black and white on the middle of the street- she thought it was a rag or a piece of clothing. For a feral found in the state she was, Diamond is quite friendly, and walked right up to a new guest in her foster home just a few days after arriving in Colorado. Story
Name: Mama Indiana Breed: Domestic Short Hair Sex: Spayed Female Age: 2 years Weight: 8 lbs Animal Number: 4277 Cuddly, Sweet, Playful, Friendly Good with dogs? Not Tested, and is probably happiest as an only pet. Good with cats? Mama Indiana prefers to be your one and only kitty and is nervous around other cats. Good with kids? Not Tested Energy level: Medium, with a good balance of high and low energy moments. She is calm and affectionate, and will also play and sometimes get the zoomies. She loves string and wand toys, scratchers and a play tunnel. Medical needs: Mama Indiana is FIV+. FIV is a feline-only retrovirus that affects a cat’s immune system. She is currently asymptomatic and in good health. An adopter should be aware that FIV can make a cat more vulnerable to other medical issues because their immune system is not as strong as an FIV negative cat. FIV is not transferable to humans or dogs and can only be transferred to other cats through a deep cat bite. Animal Characteristics: Mama Indiana is a lovely sweetie pie who can also be a little playful. She is cuddly, enjoys petting and can be picked up, and also plays with toys or on her own without needing to be touched. She communicates with great cat body language and it is easy to tell what she’s in the mood to do. She loves meeting new people and does not shy away from a new friend. When she is feeling lovey she is very physically affectionate and will nuzzle, purr, make biscuits and be adorably cute! Story
Name: Blackie and Silver Breed: Domestic Short Hair / Domestic Long Hair Sex: Neutered Males Age: 3.5 years Weight: 15 lbs / 16 lbs Bonded Pair - Affectionate, Gentle, Sweet, Loving - Adopt Your Purrfect Family! Good with dogs? These sweet besties may interact with a smaller, gentle dog or coexist with a larger dog who gives them space. They are living with large dogs in their foster home and keep their distance. They would need a slow introduction to any dogs. Good with cats? Yes, they are super friendly with other cats, absolutely adore kitty friends, and understand boundaries well. They used to live in a cat colony. Silver would love another playmate to wrestle, and Blackie would love another friend to cuddle and groom! Good with kids? Not Tested, but these gentle boys may do well with respectful kids 10+ who understand how to interact with cats, or else they may retreat from interaction. Energy level: Medium, and becoming increasingly playful and happy! They will play and wrestle each other and enjoy feather toys, kickers with catnip, cardboard scratchers and wand toys. These chill, snuggly boys like to watch out the window and cuddle. Medical needs: Blackie is fully recovered from surgery to save his leg after hip dislocation and is loving his new, pain-free life. Silver has a grade II-III heart murmur that has not caused any issues so far. Silver is FIV+. FIV is a feline-only retrovirus that affects a cat’s immune system. He is currently asymptomatic and in good health. An adopter should be aware that FIV can make a cat more vulnerable to other medical issues because their immune system is not as strong as an FIV negative cat. FIV is not transferable to humans or dogs and can only be transferred to other cats through a deep cat bite, which hasn’t been a concern with these two, given how gentle and sweet they are to each other and other kitties. Animal Characteristics: Blackie and Silver are sweet, friendly, handsome, silly bonded brothers who love each other very much and will bring their adopter twice the joy! These loving brothers have supported each other through surgical recovery and are now feeling wonderful together! They will warm up, become outgoing, affectionate and loyal to their trusted people after taking a little time to adjust. Blackie chirps away, begging for attention and thanking you with an outpouring of affection. He loves to curl up and snuggle in your lap! If he is ever nervous, his devoted, more confident brother Silver will comfort him with his deep and admirable love. Silver is an outgoing attention hog who adores people. He will hold your arm with his soft paws and play nuzzle and nibble. Both kitties are very gentle, gorgeous, and ready to relax in their cozy fur-ever home!
