Lizzy is a bit cautious to begin with, but don’t let that fool you. Once she gets to know you, she is an affectionate people pleaser. In Lizzy’s mind there is no such thing as too much peopling, she wants all pets and snuggles she can get and sleeps on your bed at night, so you can drift to sleep listening to her gentle purrs. Playtime is catnip time! Give Miss Lizzy a catnip toy and she’s a happy camper.Lizzy does have diabetes and is on a special diet for food allergies, but both are easily managed. She gets a tablet daily for her diabetes and is fed a prescription diet for her sensitive tummy.She gets along well with kids and laid-back cats and dogs. She looked out for her blind sister during her first two years of life so when it comes to other animals, she is more of a leader than a follower. Sweet, cuddly Betty would be perfect ... if her poop chute wasn`t a bit slow.Betty’s bowels have been x-rayed and she spent a night at the vet for observation. The diagnosis: there is nothing visibly wrong, her intestines just need to develop some more. She strains in the pan and leaves little poops on her travels through the house, think Hansel and Gretel, only browner. She leaves peanut M&M sized poops in random locations once or twice a week, the rest land in the pan - with one just in front of the pan to let you know the #2 has been taken care of . The poops are easy to clean up as the morsels are pretty firm. She gets meds twice daily to help the brown stuff move and she takes her meds like a trooper. Betty eats high fiber kibble to help her gut do its job. She may be able to stop taking her meds entirely when she (and her poop chute) have finished growing; her foster parents are happy to say that in the months they have had her, Betty has gotten much better at leaving her poops in the pan.Now for the good stuff! Betty is gentle, playful and cuddly. She loves wand toys, chases balls all over the house and when she`s all tuckered out, she will bake biscuits next to her foster mom or snuggle on her chest while purring up a storm. If you sit down, Betty will come running and jump on your lap. Prepare for this cuddly girl to jump on top of you for some lovins even when you`re lying down! Betty has good manners and does not practice acrobatics on top of sleeping humans. She is friendly with people and cats, and would love to share her home with another cat. Simone Biles the cat has a lot in common with Simone Biles the star athlete. Both have overcome adversity to rise high, and are an inspiration in their ability to bounce back.When she was about a year old, Simone the cat was left to fend for herself on the streets while suffering from a prolapsed anus. Poor Simone went from one house to the next meowing for help until a Good Samaritan took her in and contacted AARF. Show Your Soft Side`s Street Kitty Medical Fund helped Simone get her needed surgery and now she is one happy, healthy, playful cat who has long forgotten her sad past!Simone loves to play and her favorite robot laser toy will come with her to her new home. She is one smart kitty cat who knows high-five and loves to be sung to. (Her foster parents say she prefers Mony Mony by Billy Idol, but we`re pretty sure she`ll love any song you can sing.) She has a great appetite and a special fondness for whipped cream! Outside of that special treat, she gets fed a high quality grain free kibble and wet food twice a day to make sure her insides stay inside. She does get constipated on occasion, but a little bit of Miralax in her food fixes that.Simone currently lives with other kitties, and likely could in her forever home, too – she would just need plenty of space and another calm, respectful kitty with a very slow introduction.
