Story
Mitsy lost her mom at an early age and a volunteer bottle fed her and her siblings to save their lives. Mitsy was born mid July. She is all kitten, loving life. She loves to play with her toys. She is gentle when being picked up and carried around. She has white hair on the tips of her ears and a cute little nose. She would love to be adopted with one of her siblings but would be fine by herself. Mitsy's adoption fee to help pay for her medical is $100. Mitsy has been dewormed, microchipped, vaccinated, and tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). She has not yet been spayed, therefore there is a separate contract to guarantee she gets spayed. A separate refundable $50 is required for this contract. Since she is not yet spayed, Mitsy is not available for adoption outside of the counties contiguous to Bedford County. For more information, please visit our website at www.bhsva.org to fill out an adoption application.

Story
Buzz is a cute little tabby boy with a great adventurous spirit. He is the most rambunctious of the boys but also loves to cuddle. Buzz would also love to go to his new home with a brother but he's bold and confident so could also be adopted as a single. He is a good eater also but the play bug bites him and he is off on an adventure. He does come back and finish his meal. Buzz has no health issues. He was born August 26, 2024 and has been in foster care his whole life. These 3 kittens are not biologically related but have lived as brothers all their lives so they love and play with each other. Buzz was found abandond by his mother when he came to BHS. Buzz was bottle fed and handled with the utmost care by a volunteer. Buzz' adoption fee is $100, that will help BHS with the medical costs to bring him up to date for adoption. Buzz has been dewormed, microchipped, vaccinated, and tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Since he is not yet neutered, Buzz is not available for adoption outside of the counties contiguous to Bedford County. There is a separate neuter contract that must be locked in place with a $50 refundable deposit that will be returned after proof of surgery. For more information, please visit our website at www.bhsva.org to fill out an adoption application.

Story
Nero is a beautiful black kitten with a small amount of white fur who was named after a variety of grape that is used to make wine because she was found in the road about a quarter mile from a winery. Bedford Humane Society speculates that she and her sisters had been abandoned by their previous family because none of them showed any signs of being feral. She is very loving and curious, and loves to purr. Nero is always the first kitten to come running when her foster mom enters the room. She has been dewormed, microchipped, vaccinated and tested for FeLV and FIV. It’s always best for kittens to go to a new home with at least one other kitten, but BHS will consider a lone adoption to the right family. Her adoption fee is $100, but if more than one kitten is adopted, each additional kitten is only $50! Because she is not yet spayed, Nero is not available for adoption outside the counties contiguous with Bedford County. To apply for Nero, please visit our website at www.bhsva.org and fill out our online adoption application.

Story
We found Potato on a stormy day in May, when we found him hiding in our car’s engine, scared but safe. Since then, he’s grown into a sweet, playful, and affectionate little guy—now about six months old. He adores playing with our small dog and would do great in a home with another friendly pet. With the people he knows, Potato is incredibly cuddly and loving. With new faces, he can be a bit shy at first, but he warms up quickly. Potato loves his toys, playtime, and naps. He’s ready to find a forever family who will give him the love and security he deserves. If you’re looking for a gentle, playful companion, Potato might be the perfect match!

Story
Wally is our newest little foster Kitten. His estimated birthday is 9/06/25. He is a beautiful tabby boy with pretty white trim. He has a lovely patch of white on his chest and 4 white tipped paws. This little guy is being fostered with Buzz who just let his two brothers Bizzy and Teagan be adopted by the same nice lady. That was very nice of Buzz but he was so lonely, his foster mom decided he needed a playmate. So his foster mom took in Wally and these 2 tiny kittens have been inseparable since their first meeting. Wally is a little shy and nervous about loud noises. But Buzz is helping him relax and trust humans. Wally was found by a kind lady on the median across from Walmart so, it is no wonder he's a little nervous! Wally is a happy go getter therefore he does not like to be held long. We do recommend an older child that would understand Wally's activity. These 2 boys have become best buddies and it would benefit Wally immensely for them to be adopted together. Buzz is definitely the leader in their mischief and will add to his courage to be with his new best buddy. You would love the experience of a pair of kittens instead of a single. Wally has been dewormed, microchipped, vaccinated, and tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Since Wally is not neutered, he is not available for adoption outside of the counties contiguous to Bedford County. For more information, please visit our website at www.bhsva.org to fill out an adoption application.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This cat's adoption fee is $75. Many cats do so much better in pairs, especially kittens, which is why we offer a reduced adoption fee of $25 for the second cat (or more!). Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in this animal? The first step is an application, which can be completed at www.cvrrescue.org/adoption-applications/. The adoption fee helps cover a portion of the care provided for our animals, including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing for dogs, FeLV/FIV combo testing for cats, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines (including rabies vaccine), and any medical care received while in our care. All cats and dogs are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care. Notes about puppies: Adopters can expect a new puppy to have accidents, chew things they shouldn't, and have other normal, energetic puppy issues until they are trained, including jumping, mouthing, and general youthful naughtiness. If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we’re happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you’re looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy. We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal’s behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter. CVRR is a nonprofit organization. We have no paid staff, and all applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it may take 7-14 days to process your application, check your references, and gather follow-up info. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone numbers and email addresses for your vet and landlord references, and by answering each question fully. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the animal picks you, too. If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, we will collect the adoption fee and complete the adoption contract. CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization, and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out, the animal must be returned to CVRR. We will reevaluate the animal and choose a new home based on the best fit for it. January 19, 2025, 7:58 pm
