Hi, I'm Skylar, the Cuddlebug! My middle name is "Pet Me". I was a stray in a Southern Illinois rural area when I was picked up and put in doggy jail. Adopt-A-Pet came and took me out and put me in a foster home so I could find a new family who would take proper care of me. My best guess is I'm somewhere between 3 and 5 years old. I weigh 17 pounds and kind of look like a large chihuahua. I'm sure there's some terrier in there too. I am tri-color with some pretty unique markings. Just look at my pictures! I LOVE attention, snuggling up with you & getting a massage: back, butt, tummy or head. It doesn't matter. Just pet me. I can sit or lie down on the couch or recliner next to my foster Mom, while she's on the phone. I won't move for an hour as long as she's massaging somewhere on me. That's the main time I sneak in a few kisses!! My second greatest passion is taking long, sniffing walks around the neighborhood. I'm really good at learning new things. I came to Adopt-A-Pet knowing pretty much nothing, and now I've mastered some of the basic commands. I know Sit, Come, Stay and Heel. Mom has me sit at every street corner saying, "It's a street." I am also learning to Down. A good obedience class with my adoptive family would really help in the long run. I'd be the star student, rather the teacher's pet. When I first came to this house I wasn't neutered and had to mark my territory all over. I didn't know that I was expected to do my business outside. Now I am neutered and my foster mom took me outside constantly to make me learn this. I still have an occasional accident but I've pretty much mastered housebreaking. I'm still a little leery with strangers and it might take me a little while to warm up to you. But once I do, watch out - I'm your friend for life! Again, that obedience class that you're going to take me to will help with this. I'd do best in a quiet house with someone that's home a lot to give me Love and let me reciprocate. Someone who enjoys taking long walks. No little kids, please, as I'm just not used to them and not quite ready to take them on yet. Will you please come and take me home so I can Love you? Skyler's adoption fee of $350 includes: vet exam, DAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, Bordetella vaccination, Rabies vaccination, 4DX heartworm/lyme test, flea/tick preventative, heartworm preventative, routine deworming, microchip and neuter.

You see, I was on a mission to dig to China from my backyard. I dug and dug until I popped up in the neighbor's yard. They were having a barbeque, and I thought, 'Why not join?' Turns out, they weren't as welcoming as I'd hoped. So, here I am, ready for new adventures with you. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Madonna was found on the streets of San Antonio, where she had been wandering for weeks.  She had taken a small doxy puppy under her protection.  A Good Sam rescued the duo and tried to find the owners.    Madonna is a very sweet, calm adult dog.  She is heartworm positive, but has started the ProHeart 12 Protocol for Heartworm treatment.  She started her Doxycyline on 11/16/2023.   This is a very sweet dog that would love a calm home to live in.  She will quickly become your lap dog or couch potato.   Madonna was born around 11/2017, weighs 10.6 pounds and her adoption fee is $300.00.   You can apply for Madonna at www.adoggie4you.org. TEXAS ADOPTION ONLY Grandpa Lucky I have the weirdest name. What is that? "Grandpa Lucky. Sounds like I had a lot of luck in my short life, but I am not quite sure of all that. I just look like a Grandpa because I have lived outside most of the time and it is hard on a fella. I am only about 6 years old we think. First off, I was fished out of a river and taken to the city dog pound. I can't tell you how I got into the river, but foster mom suspects I had a little help with that. Well, it was lucky that I got fished out, but then I went to the city pound where I had 3 days before my time was up...literally. But then I got lucky again because foster mom saw me and just had to have me to foster so I got a ticket out of there. I was a pretty skinny dude when she got me, and it wasn't too long before she discovered that I love to eat. She noticed that I was having a little trouble walking on my back legs and that wasn't so good so when we got me checked out, it turns out that I have a little compression of my T4 to T6 vertebrae, whatever that is. Not good. But the vet lady said that nothing needed to be done for that so that was lucky. So, when I get a little tired, I hop like a bunny and the other times when I feel good, I walk like a regular dog. I had some tests done on my blood and I have worms living in my heart of all places. I am told that is not good. But it is lucky for me that foster mommy is giving me the medicines to kill those little varmints over time and not all at once. She said it is easier on me if we do it this way. Plus, it is lucky that I get the medicine in a little bit of tasty food that I love. Did I tell you I like to eat? About that, foster mommy tells me I can't gain too much weight, or it will be too hard on my joints and back and that won't be good. Aren't I lucky to have her to take care of me? The one complaint I have with foster mommy is that she doesn't have enough time to let me sleep in her lap during the day. I would like to have a lap in my new forever home and someone who will love me as much as foster mommy does. Because of the medicines that I am taking to kill the worms in my heart, we are looking for a forever home in the San Antonio area so I wouldn't have to travel so far. Besides having a lap to sleep in during the day, I want to sleep in the bed with you at night. I can't jump off the bed though but being with you all the time is what I want. Then I would really feel lucky! $200 Local adoption fee (in Texas)

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rose was saved from the streets of Laredo.  She was being fostered by a good Samaritan who tried to socialize her, but had trouble getting her out of the closet.  She has acclimated really well to our program, loves being outside during the day with the other dogs.  Comes in at night and goes to her kennel to sleep.  She appears to be housebroken.
