Story
Sonja was adopted 4 years ago in December from heartland animal shelter. My vet thought at time she was three years old so I’m guessing now she’s 6 or 7. Someone to love and care for her. She is trained to use the Peepee pads. She loves to sit on your lap under a blanket, loves kisses enjoys a fenced in yard. She sleeps in my bedroom in her bed. She’s tiny snuggly independent low maintenance. She eats a quarter cup of dry food twice a day and loves her treats!

He is crate trained and currently working on potty training (cold weather is definitely not his favorite!). Fresno is a sensitive soul who can be anxious and nervous in new situations and is slow to warm up, which may sometimes come across as being a bit nippy when he’s unsure. Because of this, Fresno will need a child-free home with someone who has prior dog experience and understands how to work patiently with dogs who need time, structure, and reassurance. With consistency, gentle guidance, and continued confidence-building, Fresno has great potential to grow into a more secure and trusting companion. Once Fresno feels safe and bonded, his sweet side comes out—he enjoys relaxing and napping with his people and truly values quiet companionship. Trudy truly shines when she’s with her person—she loves companionship and being close to the ones she trusts. Some of Trudy’s favorite things include enjoying tasty snacks, soaking up belly rubs, and simply relaxing by your side. Trudy came to us after her owner sadly passed away, and to our surprise, she was also expecting. She lovingly gave birth to two healthy puppies, who have since found homes of their own. Suna is a sweet Chihuahua mix around 5 years old with a gentle, comforting presence. She’s the kind of dog who bonds closely with her person and loves being nearby—whether that means following you around the house or keeping you company during quiet moments (yes, even in the bathroom!). She has been eating her breakfast and dinner well and prefers a little wet food mixed into her dry kibble. Adding a bit of warm water to soften it up makes mealtime extra enjoyable for her. Suna also loves cozy comforts—comfy blankets are a favorite, and she’s happiest curled up next to you. Suna currently uses potty pads and is learning to go potty outside. She walks nicely on a leash and enjoys her daily walks, but she is not a fan of cold weather or going out in the snow. On chilly days, she’d much rather stay warm and snug indoors. She’s been eating and sleeping well and has settled into a nice routine. During the day, Suna is quiet and soothing, but in the evenings after dinner she becomes more playful and active. She enjoys her toys, will play fetch, and shows off her personality with the cutest little baby growls and grrs. Suna can be a bit uneasy during car rides unless she’s in a car seat. When she feels safe and secure, she does much better and can relax for the ride. Meet Rico!  Rico is a 10-pound Chihuahua mix with a gentle heart and a whole lot of love to give. He’s a very sweet, affectionate boy who forms a strong bond with his favorite person and would happily stay by their side 24/7. If his chosen person isn’t available, he’ll “settle” for others—though he makes it very clear who holds the top spot! Rico is currently working on potty and crate training and is making great progress. He’s learning to walk nicely on a leash and has had a few potty accidents as he adjusts, but he’s quickly catching on to going outside. During the day, he will nap in his crate when his people are away, and at night he prefers to be close to his humans. He is good with kids and has a very loving, gentle demeanor. Rico prefers being near people at all times and truly thrives in a home where companionship is plentiful. Some of his favorite things include sitting on or near his favorite person, enjoying treats, and soaking up belly rubs. He’s not a fan of cold weather and would much rather stay cozy indoors. Rico is a calm, lounge-loving pup about 98% of the time. The other 2%? He’s playful and adorable, chasing around, hopping up on his hind legs, and showing off a few twirls. The perfect home for Rico would be one where someone is home often and appreciates a true homebody companion.
