HELLO! We are Spuds and Winnie… the perfect senior dynamic duo. Our beloved owner passed away and left us without a home. CDR stepped up and helped us find a soft place to land while we look far and wide for our furever home together. We have been together for 10 years, but when you meet us, you will realize that we still have quite a bit of pep left in our steps! And we will still make the perfect companions for someone looking for fun and lots of love! Our foster Dad asked us to tell you a bit about us, so here we go: Hello! My name is Spuds, but you can just call me “silly boy” because my foster Dad says I’m just a happy-go-lucky little dude. I LOVE playing in the yard, exploring the yard, just hanging out in the yard! In fact, sometimes my foster Dad has to make me come in! I have a cute, quiet bark to let you know it’s play time, potty time or hey! I’m hungry! I am short-haired, which means I will always look my most handsome with a bath and some brushing! And speaking of eating, I would like a cozy space of my own to eat in because I will steal the other dog’s food every chance I get. I guess you could say I’m a chow hound! Even though I’m an older boy, I still love to run and jump, and I walk great on a leash! AND… Hello! My name is Winnie, or Win for short. My foster Dad says whoever adopts Spuds and I will be the WINNER! I am VERY sweet and very cuddly, and will curl up in your arms as much as you will let me! But don’t let my hold me, please attitude fool you! I am quick on my feet and love to play with all the other dogs at my foster home. I must admit that yelling and strange, loud noises scare the heck out of me, so a quiet home would be perfect! And full disclosure, I have a heart murmur that requires me to take ½ a pill twice a day, but that murmur doesn’t slow me down at all! Tucker was surrendered in Oklahoma and was left with no options. When he arrived in Illinois we quickly learned that men were on his "naughty" list and that he may have had a harder first few years than we had hoped. Lucky for him he found an amazing foster mama who took him in and showed him a life of love and companionship. He is great with dogs and cats and crate trained. He can be a little naughty with potty if not watched but has gotten better every month he is here. He loves to lounge on the couch after a jaunt around the yard and will be your best side kick with his loyal nature. Tuckers ideal home would be similar to his fosters- an understanding mama ( no daddy please) with or without other dogs and cats, and no kiddos. Archie is a 2 year old mix breed boy weighing 12 pounds. Archie is the perfect combination of playful and chill. He has a puppy enthusiasm for life and playing with the other dogs, but he also loves snuggling and sleeping on the couch by his people. He adores the cat as well, but the cat does not reciprocate and swatted him after he kept trying to kiss the cat! Archie is still a bit timid because his first two years of life did not include living in a house and being around loving people. But this wonderful dog doesn't have an ounce of aggression in his body. He's good with kids as well. His tail doesn't stop wagging, even when he's scared - it just wags lower. He's very athletic and can walk on his hind legs and leap high in the air. He's gentle when taking treats, he's just a delight! Archie needs to go to a home with another dog because he takes comfort and cues from them. He follows them outside to do his business and comes back inside when they do. Vigilance is still needed so that he goes outside at appropriate times to potty. Archie's routine: Wake up, leave crate to go out and potty and jump for joy in the air. Jump on bed to wake sleeping human with kisses. Breakfast in crate. Midmorning nap before going outside again. Snuggle with other dogs by the window and join them in alerting to people and dogs walking by. Naptime in crate. Outside before having dinner in crate. Snuggle with humans while watching TV in the evening. Out once more before bedtime in crate in bedroom. He's a young dog who will blossom in the right home. He is capable of giving so much love and affection, in fact he really really wants to. He just needs a bit of patience and a lot of love.
