Despite cold weather, Bug has been doing greatwith house training, showing how smart and eager she is to please. Tucker was surrendered in Oklahoma and was left with no options. When he arrived in Illinois we quickly learned that men were on his "naughty" list and that he may have had a harder first few years than we had hoped. Lucky for him he found an amazing foster mama who took him in and showed him a life of love and companionship. He is great with dogs and cats and crate trained. He can be a little naughty with potty if not watched but has gotten better every month he is here. He loves to lounge on the couch after a jaunt around the yard and will be your best side kick with his loyal nature. Tuckers ideal home would be similar to his fosters- an understanding mama ( no daddy please) with or without other dogs and cats, and no kiddos. Tucker has a lot of love and silly antics to share with the right family. Could it be yours ?? Archie is a 2 year old mix breed boy weighing 12 pounds. Archie is the perfect combination of playful and chill. He has a puppy enthusiasm for life and playing with the other dogs, but he also loves snuggling and sleeping on the couch by his people. He adores the cat as well, but the cat does not reciprocate and swatted him after he kept trying to kiss the cat! Archie is still a bit timid because his first two years of life did not include living in a house and being around loving people. But this wonderful dog doesn't have an ounce of aggression in his body. He's good with kids as well. His tail doesn't stop wagging, even when he's scared - it just wags lower. He's very athletic and can walk on his hind legs and leap high in the air. He's gentle when taking treats, he's just a delight! Archie needs to go to a home with another dog because he takes comfort and cues from them. He follows them outside to do his business and comes back inside when they do. Vigilance is still needed so that he goes outside at appropriate times to potty. Archie's routine: Wake up, leave crate to go out and potty and jump for joy in the air. Jump on bed to wake sleeping human with kisses. Breakfast in crate. Midmorning nap before going outside again. Snuggle with other dogs by the window and join them in alerting to people and dogs walking by. Naptime in crate. Outside before having dinner in crate. Snuggle with humans while watching TV in the evening. Out once more before bedtime in crate in bedroom. He's a young dog who will blossom in the right home. He is capable of giving so much love and affection, in fact he really really wants to. He just needs a bit of patience and a lot of love. Meet Paisley! Paisley is a petite 8-pound sweetheart, estimated to be around 1 year old, possibly a ChihuahuaDachshund mix. She is a VERY social, happy girl who has never met a strangermen, women, and kiddos alike instantly become her new best friends. Offer up your lap and she is in it!! She does wonderfully with dogs of all sizes; cats are currently unknown. Paisley is a total snuggle bug with her humans but also loves to romp and play with her canine friends. She is crate trained, though shed much rather curl up in bed with her people at night. Paisley does great with potty training as long as shes let out consistently. This little girl truly has all the love, brains, and personality a small dog can offer. Athena Power (female, Terrier mix), Bon Bon Power (male, Chihuahua mix), Chocolate Power (male, Terrier mix), Cookie Power (female, Chihuahua mix), Flower Power (female, Chihuahua mix), Granuda Power (female, Chihuahua mix), Paloma Power (female, Chihuahua mix), and Tobi Power (male, Terrier mix) may all have different faces, sizes, and quirks, but they share one incredible thing in common — a second chance. This group came from a home where they lived their entire lives outdoors, until their family became overwhelmed with caring for so many dogs. They were later transferred to Border Tails Rescue from the Blue Island Police Department, where their journey toward comfort and care truly began. Because they’ve had little exposure to people or the rhythms of indoor life, the Power Dogs are still learning what it means to feel safe. They can be shy, skittish, and even a little spicy when they’re scared — but that’s just fear talking.
