Hello and good day. My name is Lady Kathrine Octavia Barkley, but you may call me Kathy. I am descended from a long line of Chihuahua nobility. I am 10-12 years old and weigh 10lbs, but a lady should not reveal such things. I adore being paraded around the house as I don't climb stairs, and I do enjoy a good nap on a fluffy blanket. My house maids insist on feeding me a well-balanced diet of kibble, but I'd much rather nourish myself with whatever the cook prepares for dinner. The manor I reside in is drafty so I require a wardrobe to keep me comfortable. My automobile rides also require a bed and blanket in the front seat so I can observe the public. I like to be pampered and love to take in the air on the grounds while I roll in the grass. My house maids said to include that I am crate and house-trained, as if I need to explain myself. I enjoy the company of respectful children and other dogs only if they mean me no harm and are gentle. I was surrendered  to the rescue by my family, because I was nipping at the younger children. There were far too many children to pick on me. I was terrified and had to defend myself. I've been with my foster mom since January and I think we have a few things straightened out regarding what kind of a home I need. I'm currently living in a quiet country home with a fenced yard where I can expend some energy chasing the squirrels.. We have a routine and infrequent visitors. A kind volunteer comes to walk me and I love my walks.There are other little dogs here and we get along fine but I do not like strange dogs and would be best as an only pet. I like to play with  squeaky toys, rope toys and nyla bones, am reliably house and crate trained and love to ride in the car and snuggle with foster mom when our day is done.  I turned two years old recently,  weigh 17 lbs. and have the cutest underbite. I am healthy, low maintenance, caught up on all my vaccinations and heart worm negative. I am VERY reactive to new people and situations and will bark and show fear aggression. I can be worked through this, if you have experience at socializing reactive dogs. It will be a work in progress to help me. My name is Handsome. I am two and a half years old and I weigh 25 lbs. I am very smart and a quick learner. I love being with people and getting lots of petting and snuggle time. I have lots of love and loyalty to give in return. I'm just a little bit shy when meeting someone new, but I warm up quickly. I am well behaved in the house. I stay off of the furniture and out of the trash. I have a medium energy level and I ride well in the car. I only bark when the other dogs bark. I get along well with all of the other dogs in my foster home and really like playing with them. They range in age from 4 mos.- seniors and in size from 5 lbs to 120 lbs. One of my favorite games to play with my dog buddies is chase. I'm also good with children but I don't know about cats - the rescue doesn't have any. I am eager to find a family that I can call my own. Belly rubs are a must! My previous owner kept me crated on the porch a lot. He ended up going to prison and someone saw me on the porch and called animal control. When my time was almost up with animal control, I was taken into the rescue. I am now fostered in Danbury, North Carolina but easy, affordable transportation is available. My foster can tell how grateful I am now that I am in a foster home with a fenced-in backyard and freedom in the house!
