Story
Bonnie is a beautiful mixed breed/collie who is about 2.5 years old and around 45lbs. She had 7 puppies at our shelter and is now looking for her own perfect home! She is a sweetheart, who loves to jump up on you for hugs and attention. She is incredibly smart and agile and would love a home to keep her active and enriched! She is dog friendly and kid friendly. Once she bonds to people she does have the tendency to guard/protect them, so we are looking for a home with previous experience dealing with any potential guarding issues. Due to the guarding/protective behavior we are marking her for households with children over 12 yrs of age. She seems to enjoy other dogs at the shelter, but due to her small animal prey drive, will need a home without cats or small pets.

Story
https://www.collierescue.org/dogs/8 NAPERVILLE, IL Kirby is a gentle, mahogany sable Rough Collie who brings a calm, comforting presence to any room. This mellow, house-trained senior girl loves staying close to her people and would thrive in a quiet home that can support her slower pace and mobility needs. Kirby is a 11-year-old Rough Collie whose sweetness and easygoing nature shine through in everything she does. She’s fully house trained, rarely vocal, and content with a simple routine that includes short, regular walks and plenty of couch time. Kirby prefers to stay near her adults, soaking up gentle affection and companionship rather than high-energy play. She’s learning to loosen up and play a bit from her foster siblings, but her favorite role is quiet, loyal shadow. Due to significant muscle loss in her rear legs, Kirby has difficulty with stairs and getting up, so she needs a home that can accommodate her mobility challenges. She’s doing better with supportive care and supplements, but still benefits from a safe, stable environment where she can move at her own pace. A fenced yard is always desirable but she doesn’t require it as long as she gets age-appropriate exercise. Kirby moves carefully around seniors and would be an ideal match for a calm, patient household ready to offer her comfort, consistency, and love in her golden years.

Fenced yard required Fostered near Britton, MI https://www.collierescue.org/dogs/2054 https://www.collierescue.org/adopt/apply Murray is a smart, energetic, and affectionate young Collie with a big personality and love for his people. He enjoys treats, toys, and a good game of fetch, and he’s always eager to learn, making him a rewarding match for an active home that can offer structure, playtime, and continued guidance as he grows into the wonderful companion he is meant to be. This handsome boy is fully housebroken, comfortable in a crate, and settles well when left alone. He has learned not to destroy his toys, is improving with waiting at doors, and comes when called. Murray is highly intelligent and loves to learn—he even figured out how to let himself back inside by using a lever-style doorknob! Murray thrives on attention and affection. He loves to be part of whatever his family is doing. One of his favorite things is greeting his foster mom with morning snuggles. He responds well to treats, chews, toys, and calm, consistent routines. He navigates stairs with ease and has done well with grooming after overcoming his initial fear of the high-velocity dryer. Murray gets along well with other dogs and cats. He enjoys canine companionship but is still learning appropriate play manners and can be a bit exuberant at times. A family willing to provide supervision, structure, and continued guidance will help him continue making great progress. Because Murray can be sensitive to certain sights and sounds outside of the fence, he would do best in a quieter environment with minimal outside distractions. A dog savvy, active home with a securely fenced yard, clear expectations, and plenty of physical and mental enrichment will be ideal for this bright young Collie. Murray is a happy, affectionate Collie who is ready to share his heart with a family of his own. With continued guidance, patience, and love, he will grow into a wonderful companion and a loyal best friend for years to come. Story
Bo Peep and Woody were found as strays together, very scared. It took a few days for them to realize we’re all ok here, but they always looked to each other for comfort. We’re hoping these 2 can stay together in their forever home. They are both very sweet and adorable! We don’t recommend small kids in their new home since they came in so scared.

Story
This is Eros! He is around 8-9 years old! He weighs about 28 pounds at the current time. The reason we are rehoming him is due to some behavioral issues with house training. He’s always had this issue since we originally adopted him back in 2020. Originally this wasn’t a major issue and my husband and I were able to handle this issue pretty decently. However, I became pregnant in October of this past year and his issues have just seemed to gotten out of hand. No matter how much we scheduled his water intake, or how much of schedule he was on when my husband and I were home from work, he just couldn’t seem to hold it in. As of 2022 he had no Cushings disease or diabetes, but it wouldn’t hurt to get him tested again. My husband and I wanted so badly for him to get better but with my preeclampsia and the amount of stress this puts on me, and for the baby’s sake, it is not a healthy fit for us anymore. It breaks our hearts and was the last thing we wanted to do. We are about 80% sure he has some slight separation anxiety as I use to work from home until around March 2025 last year. He is usually home alone around 5-8 hours and is a hit or miss with soiling his crate. He was good at my parents home that had no yard but not 100% trust worthy to leave unattended. I would definitely recommend a fenced yard but he is alright with one that’s not fenced in. He is good with cats and other dogs. He is a little timid around men, (and new people in general ) but he will warm up. If you would like to meet this dog, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $150. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming

Story
Meet Athena! Athena is an adorable 8-month, 37# heeler with a heart full of love and energy to spare! She is smart and active and is ready for her next adventure, whether it's going for a walk, splashing in the water, or playing in the yard. Athena enjoys staying busy and loves chewing on her favorite rawhide bones. Athena is learning all about her new world and continues to make great progress with boundaries, house training, and meeting new people. She is incredibly loyal to her people and loves being close to them, often following them from room to room just to be part of the action. Once Athena bonds with you, she becomes a devoted companion who simply wants to be by your side. When meeting new people, Athena can be a little cautious at first and may need some time to warm up. However, once she feels comfortable, her sweet and affectionate personality shines through. She loves attention, pets, and being loved on by those she trusts. Athena would do best with an active family that understands the needs of a young Heeler and can provide her with regular exercise, structure, and continued training. She is currently unsure about small children, so a home with older, respectful children or adults may be the best fit while she continues to build confidence. If you're looking for a loyal, intelligent, and energetic best friend who will happily join you on life's adventures, Athena may be the perfect addition to your family! If you would like to meet this dog, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $275. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming
