Story
Theo is 1 of 9 dumped puppies found on May 1, 2025 in Kerens, Texas. We believe the puppies&#39 breed is a border collie mix. He is around 13 weeks old, he has had his 12 weeks shots, he is neutered and microchipped, and he is ready for his forever home. Theo is the biggest boy of the 4 boys in the litter! He is outgoing, but he is also a cuddle bug. He is one of the most affectionate of all the male puppies, which is saying something because they&#39re all very affectionate. He is playful and loves everyone. He does well with cats and is friendly with other dogs. His foster home has children (ages 13, 9, and 6) and he does well with all of them. Theo was kind of bullied by a few of them when we first brought them home, and we kept him inside for 2 nights because he seemed scared to be with the other puppies. That was weeks ago, and he&#39s gotten over that fear, but he is still very affectionate, and he has the sweetest eyes. He loves to be held and snuggled, he loves to run and play chase, and he loves toys and bones. He is very active and will do best in a home with a yard large enough for him to run and with a family that will take him on walks. He is well socialized with his littermates, and he will do well being socialized with other friendly dogs from a young age. He plays with our cats, and will do well with cats as he gets older if he is around them often enough to not be overly excited when he sees one. Theo has a less dominant disposition than some of the other puppies, and he is not aggressive. The 8 puppies that we found (our neighbors found #9 and kept her) are fed together, and none of them are food aggressive. There was a little food aggression when we first brought them home, but we&#39ve had them for over a month now, and they realize that there is enough food for everyone, so the aggression that was displayed by a couple of them has stopped completely. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meet. Story
We didn&#39t name the puppies until we&#39d had them for a couple weeks as a way to keep track of them. Chunk got his name because he would eat dinner, then he would walk over to a patch of grass and flop over onto his side like he was too full to go on. It&#39s come to be a very fitting name. He&#39s a chubby boy! Chunk is very outgoing. He is probably the most affectionate of all the puppies, which is saying something because they&#39re all very affectionate. Chunk&#39s kryptonite is a good belly rub! He will run up to you, and as soon as your hand reaches down to pet him, he&#39s on his back, little legs kicking in the air, chubby belly waiting for rubs! He is playful and loves everyone. He does well with cats and is friendly with other dogs. His foster home has children (ages 13, 9, and 6) and he does well with all of them. Chunk loves to be held and snuggled, he loves to run and play chase, and he loves toys and bones. Story
Shiloh is kind of shy, and she is one of the most timid of all the puppies. She is a little lady, and when they other puppies are jumping up for treats or attention, she will sit back and wait her turn. She is playful and loves everyone. She does well with cats and is friendly with other dogs. Her foster home has children (ages 13, 9, and 6) and she does well with all of them. Shiloh loves to be held and snuggled, she loves to run and play chase, and she loves toys and bones. There was a little food aggression when we first brought them home, but we&#39ve had them for over a month now, and they realize that there is enough food for everyone, so the aggression that was displayed by a couple of them has stopped completely. Shiloh has big floppy ears that just keep getting bigger, and short little legs, giving her the appearance of having a bit of bloodhound, but we do not know for sure. We&#39re assuming that all the puppies are from the same litter, and we definitely see border collie more than anything else. Having gotten to know her individuality since she&#39s been with us, I feel like her name should have been Zahara, but we&#39ve been calling her Shiloh for 3+ weeks, so we&#39ve not changed it. A new family can obviously change it to whatever they feel is fitting, but my heart says Zahara for some reason. I also just realized that both Shiloh and Zahara are names of Angelina Jolie&#39s kids... not intentional. Shiloh has beautiful brindle patterns in her fur, too. She&#39s a very pretty girl! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. Simon is very outgoing, probably the most outgoing. He is VERY playful and loves everyone. He does well with cats and is friendly with other dogs. Simon has a less dominant disposition than some of the other puppies, and he is not aggressive. Simon is too busy loving life to be aggressive. He&#39s the Matthew McConaughey of puppies - Alright, Alright, Alright! Having gotten to know him individuality since he&#39s been with us, we feel like his name should have been Squirrel, but we&#39ve been calling him Simon for 3+ weeks, so we&#39ve not changed it. We do call him by both names though. A new family can obviously change it to whatever they feel is fitting, but my heart says Squirrel for some reason - it&#39s more fitting to his slightly spastic disposition!
