She is heartworm positive but don't let that stop you.  We will get her treated!. Story
We rescued Charlie almost 5 years ago from Cane Rosso Dog Rescue in Carrollton. He's an energetic goofball that loves to go on walks, is very eager to follow commands for treats, and is protective of his family and home. We've recently learned that we're pregnant with our second child, and our mother who's allergic to dogs is going to be moving in to help, and so we're looking to find a great home for Charlie into his golden years.

Story
This handsome boy needs a very special person in his life, as he struggles to trust many humans. Prince might like someone immediately, but it is rare. He did not like his foster mom at all initially, but now he is loving and adoring of her. He is an outgoing and fun dog once he chooses to trust someone; otherwise, he makes it clear that he prefers to be left alone. Prince lives with many other dogs and is exceptionally playful with the smaller dogs in his home. He has not been cat tested, but ignores the cats in their catio in his foster home. He has learned to accept and walk on a leash and even enjoys going for walks now. He is house-trained and has good house manners, which is excellent because he hates being in a crate. He needs a home with minimal people coming and going, and/or a place where he can be away from those who do not live with him, and where there are no young children. His perfect home would be with his human, and how many other dogs his human would like to have live with them.Prince is fully vetted, current with vaccinations, microchipped, neutered, and on flea and tick, as well as heartworm, prevention.

Story
Meet Theo -- Your Gentle, Playful Companion! Born around April 1, 2025, Theo is a distinguished young pup with wise eyes and a heart full of sweetness. He adores playing with his littermates and foster family -- adults, kids, and even cats! His floppy ears often flip inside out, and he's happiest lounging on the couch with his people. Theo is a toy enthusiast, especially stuffed ones (though he's known to un-stuff them with gusto!). He's all about treats, cuddles, and soaking up attention. While he can get a little rowdy when excited, he just needs gentle guidance around smaller children. Theo is looking for a loving home with time to help him grow -- crate training, leash walking, and housebreaking are still on his to-do list. He'd thrive with an active family, a yard to play in, and a cozy indoor bed to call his own. With his giant heart and playful spirit, Theo will fill your life with joy, loyalty, and endless affection. Theo is neutered, UTD on shots and boosters, microchipped, and currently on monthly NexGard and Heartgard. Theo is part of the Guest Dog Program through DFW Rescue Me. His foster family will bring him to a home visit for any potential forever families for a meet and greet. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meet. Theo is participating in the DFW Rescue Me guest dog program, so ongoing care and custody is provided by their foster, not by DFWRM.March 21, 2026, 12:23 am

Story
Meet Shiloh -- A Gentle Spirit with a Playful Heart. Born around April 1, 2025, Shiloh is a calm, sweet-natured pup with a quiet charm that's impossible to resist. She has a long body, big paws, and adorably short legs but don't let those fool you. She was the first of her litter to master jumping their 40" play yard fence, proving that determination beats leg length every time! Shiloh loves attention and tries her best to jump up for cuddles. Her floppy bloodhound-like ears and stunning brindle coat give her a unique beauty, and her soulful eyes speak volumes, always asking for love. She's playful and affectionate, enjoying toys, tug-of-war with her littermates, and snuggle time with humans. She's wonderful with kids, other dogs, and cats, and she knows exactly when it's bedtime, just shake the treat jar and she's ready to settle in. Shiloh currently lives in an outdoor kennel with her littermates due to space limitations in her foster home. She's still learning to feel safe and relaxed indoors but settles down with one-on-one cuddle time. Shiloh is looking for a forever home that will have time to crate train her because she is not housebroken, time to teach her how to walk on a leash, time to take her on walks, a yard to play in, and a warm, safe bed to sleep in indoors every night. She would love an active family because she loves running around and playing. She has lots of puppy energy left to burn! The right forever family will be blessed by her giant heart, and she will repay them with all the love and affection in the world! Story
Trenton is a 2-year-old neutered male Heeler/Hound mix with handsome red and white coloring and beautiful speckling that makes him just as unique as his personality. He came from a situation where there were many dogs and limited positive human interaction, so he is still learning how to build confidence and trust with people. Trenton has already begun making progress, but he will need a patient and understanding family willing to continue helping him grow at his own pace.Trenton would do best in a calm home without young children, where the environment is quiet and predictable so he can feel safe while learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. With time, patience, and encouragement, he has the potential to form a strong and loyal bond with his people. He is very treat-motivated, which makes him a great candidate for training with positive reinforcement. Trenton is still learning how to walk on a leash and will need someone dedicated to helping him build confidence and learn those skills. With consistency and lots of encouragement, he is sure to continue making progress. When meeting other dogs on leash, Trenton has seemed okay with gentle, respectful dogs, but he can show barrier reactivity and may be selective about his canine companions. Because of this, a meet and greet will be required for any dogs already in the home to ensure a good fit.Trenton would likely thrive in a house with a secure yard where he can safely explore, stretch his legs, and continue building confidence at his own pace. With the right patient family willing to give him the time he needs, Trenton has all the potential to blossom into a devoted and loving companion.

Story
Roo is a 1-year-old spayed female Heeler mix with a gentle spirit who is still learning that the world—and the people in it—can be safe. She came from a situation where she didn’t receive much positive human interaction, so she is understandably fearful and unsure around people right now. Roo is not aggressive; instead, she tends to be avoidant and prefers to keep her distance until she feels comfortable.Because of this, Roo will need a very patient and understanding home that is willing to move at her pace and celebrate the small victories along the way. A calm household without young children would be best for her, allowing her to build confidence in a quiet and predictable environment. One of Roo’s biggest hurdles right now is learning to feel comfortable with a leash. She is still very unsure about it and will need someone dedicated to helping her slowly build confidence through gentle guidance and positive reinforcement. With time, consistency, and kindness, she has the potential to make wonderful progress.Roo can show barrier reactivity with other dogs, but when she has been properly introduced to calm, respectful dogs, she has done okay. Because of this, a meet and greet will be required for any dogs already in the home to ensure it’s a good match.Roo would likely thrive in a home with a secure yard where she can explore and decompress while continuing to learn that people can be kind. The family who gives Roo the patience and compassion she needs will get to witness something truly special—the transformation of a shy, uncertain dog into a loyal and devoted companion.
